TenaciousOrphan:
Hello House, I currently have 4 PhD admissions with funding, but 2 are more funded because they each came with a stipend and fellowship. However I am still waiting for 5 admissions. But because of the harsh winter in Nebraska, I am hoping to get any school in the south but they are delaying, no responseat all. Should I accept the University of Nebraska Lincoln (Sociology) since is the best funded and best ranked for now because of the scarcity of visa interview date and because time is also running out?
Dont you think that the reason why you are fully funded by UNL is because they have fewer applicants and a lot fewer POC are getting funded? The more north or south you move, the less chances you have in getting fully funded especially if you’re not in STEM .Americans would have to be funded first! South is an exotic bride that everybody wants to toast… but midwest is cold with limited suitors, but a great people. Good luck!

Hello house, I received this email from the US consulate in Lagos. My appointment date ought to be 30th May,2023. What should I do? Should I change my visa interview appointment date or wait for them to send me mail as regards to the rescheduled visa interview appointment date.

I was really demoralized, I think the embassy is using the visa appointment or slot as a money making venture. Many prospective applicants were rescheduled and also told that you cannot reschedule the appointment. My school will resume on August 21,2023.
Since I cannot reschedule,I have to fill a new DS 160 form, pay the visa fee and start looking for earliest appointment.
I will do that tomorrow

I tried to use the option of reschedule appointment, but it was not going.
May be I don't know how to go about it.
Is there anybody in the house who was able to reschedule his appointment after the forced US embassy rescheduled appointment?
If there is , he should let us know how he did it.
Let me wait to learn from the gurus in the house.
Thanks

Please anyone with a relatable experience??

I'm not sure you have problem with this. You'll have to explain to the the VO that you're coming back to take a senior role. Moreover, you can put your salary being reasonable for the average pay not compulsorily the exact amount.

Hi Fam, I need your help here. I got only 5k Schlarship out of 54k with living expenses, I emailed the school for clarification regarding the 5k scholarship and they confirmed that the total is 5k, even tho I am ready to pay out of pocket, should I still push them for more or I should just go ahead and pay out of pocket. Your opinion would be much appreciated here. Thanks

Hi Fam, I have another question regarding the Scholarship given to me, In my acceptance letter, I got Dean's scholarship of $5k. is that a total 5k? or 5k for each semester or quarter? Anyone with experience should put me through so that I can know how much is my deficit. Thanks

If you have $54k you can pay them or look for another school.
Good luck

I think you couldn't reschedule because there is a maximum amount of time you can reschedule. You can only reschedule twice...maybe you already exhausted it.

I tried to log in to my account, after entry my password, I am having a page to change password, and re-enter the new password.
Should I go through that process. I have never rescheduled my appointment before except this forced US embassy rescheduled appointment.
What should I do?

Another question please, in my quest for an earlier appointment date, I talked to someone I know who run this stuffs, though he doesn't do it himself,. Buts he's got a link in the embassy that could help me secure an earlier date and the guy is charging 200k, payment after date is secured but in all truth, I'm kinda skeptical about the whole thing.,....please advise
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Sisib15: 3:54pm On Mar 14, 2023
You can search fr for dates yourself. Lagos has been releasing favorable dates since last week. You can do it yourself.

Had same experience using the old password... Proceed to change the password and you should be able to see the reschedule side navigation. Goodluck
