. January this year, I bought the the biggest pack Which contains almost 30 pieces of sanitary pads. It wasn't even enough for February, I had to get a smaller pack with 10 pieces inside. This month now, I'll have to get another pack again because the remaining pads won't be enough for this month. Please, I want to know better alternatives to sanitary pads. The ones that are skin-friendly, last long and affordable too. I'm just tired of buying sanitary pads every month .

Please, I would like to know better alternatives that you've tried and have worked for you.

I don't know if menstrual cups are better. Someone said tampons do give this shock-like feeling. Is it true?

I'll appreciate your suggestions and opinions please. Thanks.

why are all these immature troll guys commenting up and down here, for all i know this could actually be a female seeking help here, truly there are many immature adult kids here on nairaland.

To the OP hopefully a mature fellow female here can advise you on safe, cheap but effective method to use, you can try Google though, or ask a fellow female but be skeptical because not everyone is clean some people are dirty cos you don't want an infection down there.

Am also sick and tired of sanitary pads so l usually use a napkin and fold( or cut) them into smaller size, u have to be careful though cause it has to be clean always to avoid infection.
Always wash with hypo (or any bleach) and iron it before u think of wearing it to kill all bacteria and to also avoid infections.

As a pharmacist, what I would advise is for you to try an oral contraceptive pill such as Combination 3, Alysena 28, use this for a month, and take the 1 week break, your flow will be way less, and you will possibly not feel any symptoms you feel with onset of your cycle.

You can also decide to not take the 1 week break, and you experience any menstrual bleeding at all.
Ladies understand, you do not need to have menstrual bleeding to be healthy at all. You can use continuous oral contraceptive pill and not have periods for months.

I practise outside the country where I see plenty of women on these. Side effects profile is mild, but you should be careful/be assessed if you smoke and are above 35 years, if you are hypertensive, or experience certain side effects...

Pad is expensive, I use cotton handkerchief when I am indoor and pad when I am going to work
