Am suspecting this draws not happening is a strategy to ensure the score remain high, cos new people with a high score will enter the bucket and some people with high scores will drop points due to their birthday

PPR finally came in today đŸ™đŸ˜…đŸ„ł I don’t know how to behave. I ran downstairs to show my husband and we were jumping quietly together so as not to wake our toddler.

Timeline below:
IELTS exam: 20th August 2022
EE profile created: 12th September 2022
ITA received: 26th October 2022
Submission & AOR: 25th December 2022
Spouse’ BIL: 11th January 2023
Biometrics passed: 20th January 2023
Web form raised: 8th February 2023
Ready for visa email: 9th March 2023

No updates on the application tracker; eligibility and background check are still shown as “Not started” till now. Don’t be worried if you don’t get ghost updates or any similar clues we often track.

By the way, my international passport will expire on 5th September this year. Should I submit it like that for COPR processing or try to renew first? Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this? I also would appreciate advice on what visa office to send our package to.

Thank you to everyone who has helped and encouraged me in this journey. Some of you have made such helpful posts that I have screenshots on my japa folder. God bless you all @Bilingualism @Graciouswords @Debie with the many e’s @asetake ati beebe lo

Hello, many congratulations on this. I wish you and your family the very best. I also got my RFV mail the same day you did, but I'm super confused on the EXACT next steps to take (I'm sorry for the emphasis on the exact). Do I need to book an appointment with VFS for submission or do I just send all required documents to them by courier. I'll be grateful if you can share any information you have regarding this. Thank you.

there is nothing like strategy to keep scores high. IRCC has no say on who enters the pool or who acquires things that will shoot up their scores. When scores was 430s in 2019 there were fewer people in the pool. Na survival of the fittest.

Bro let be realistic, ircc are giving priority to bilingual, the bilingual are those with high scores together with those with Canadian experience. They are kinda forcing people with below 490 to provincial nomination. It’s as simple as that.

We are Family of 3, we are on 488. I changed the profile to unaccompanied spouse and CRS is now 493. Hopefully we will get ITA today.

My wife is the Principal Applicant.

Can i go ahead and accept the ITA and afterwards, Can my son go with my Wife to Canada using this mode?.
We have stayed long in this Process, we cannot take any chance anymore.

What do you guys advices please?
Should i just go on with the unaccompanying profile or wait for CRS score to drop further?

As Ednut said survival... It's competition. When there is a pathway at the beginning a lot of people will flock to it(Student visa and the CEC palava for example) until that becomes somewhat saturated and until the next. It will happen with french too as more people flock to it.

Competition is good for immigration.
It has always been in the plan(from internal memos releases) for more emphasis to be placed on those already in Canada. What this does is make those outside Canada strive harder just to measure up and with the number of people in the pool, it was inevitable.

C'est la vie. Just do whatever you can to increase your points.

Tough, but I’ll say accept the ITA.

Of course your wife can go with your son, and then you begin the process for you to join them.

If you think you can afford to wait a bit longer for another draw, you can decline. Bear in mind the next draw (FSW) may not come for another month, or even later. Or never, if they switch to the occupations in demand draws in Spring like they announced earlier.

I believe ednut is right. Keeping the scores high to achieve what?? Many people join the pool everyday and get high scores without French. There are people with job offers inside and outside Canada, people with Canadian education etc.

It’s obvious they’re trying to switch focus to PNP though. And they’ve made several announcements about that. I think we’ll see fewer FSW draws until they eventually begin implementing the Bill C-19.

This is a tough one. While no one can predict the future cutoffs for EE draws, 488 is a decent score.

Regardless of whether you are an accompanying/non-accompanying spouse, you would need proof of funds for 3. Assuming that you intend to eventually join your family in Canada, your wife will need to submit a sponsorship application for you - added time, costs, and a separate process.
Also, if your wife and son did end up in Canada without you, it might be more difficult for them to assimilate as a family of 2.
In theory, you could get a visitor's visa and spend time with them while figuring out spousal sponsorship, but even that isn't guaranteed.

This is a decision your family needs to make based on your situation, but if it were me, the 5 additional points wouldn't be worth it.

Are there other things you can do to improve your score while staying in the pool at 488? Maybe retaking IELTS? Completing an additional certificate?

oh i see. IRCC is paying people to go write TEF As more and more people want to japa people will try every possible available means to increase their scores. The so called bill C-19 already shows us that high scores does not necessarily solve labour shortages. If they cared about scores there will be no bill c-19.

Congrats to those who got ita and ppr 😅

Hi, I tried this with WES a few years ago and it wasn’t evaluated positively as 2 or more certificates. Just wasted money evaluating it. I don’t know if things have changed now.

Do I need to book an appointment with VFS for submission or do I just send all required documents to them by courier. I'll be grateful if you can share any information you have regarding this. Thank you.

Congratulations bro! Next steps are for you to send your package to the VFS of your choice. The basic things to send in a single package are:
* international passport (you, spouse & kids)
* 2 copies of passport photo (one stamped with studio’s logo and signature and date at the back. You also need to write your full name and DOB on the stamped copy. The second copy should be left blank). These photos are to be in the dimensions specified in Appendix 1 on your RFV email
* Completed height and eye colour chart (Appendix 2)
* Printed copy of your RFV email
* 1 CVAC form completed by the primary applicant. This is consent form for the VAC and you can just Google Canadian CVAC form and fill it as the primary applicant
* If there’s been a change in your family composition, you may want to fill IMM008 as well

You can send these to any VFS of your choice. If you choose Lagos, you can just walk in between 8am to 10am on any weekday and present the proof of biometrics if you did biometrics in Lagos. If you have a kid that didn’t do biometrics, you’d have to pay 9k plus for each child. It seems Lagos currently sends their stuff to Accra and it takes about 4 weeks at the moment. PS: For Lagos, make photocopies of all the docs in your package just in case.

If you want to send your package to Kenya or the new YaoundĂ© (Cameroon) which have faster turnaround times, you’d have to pay for dispatch but you can send it through Lagos. You’ll pay N18k for each person included in your application. They charge dispatch per intl. passport not as a single package. The 18k is for Kenya, Cameroon’s dispatch fees may differ slightly. Turnaround time for Kenya is about two weeks while Cameroon has been responding within days to a week. These are the ones I enquired about.

I’ll be going to Lagos VFS tomorrow to send my package. All the best

Please I would like to inquire if anyone here has a knowledge of where one could learn French in Benin Republic and get well prepared for TEF in 6 months. At this point I need additional language to boost my score.

Hello house.

I have a friend who is a medical doctor and wants to start his EE journey.

He wants to know which evaluation body will do his ECA but I do not have any information on that. I checked page 1 and saw this
Physicians: If your primary occupation is specialist physician (2016 NOC 3111) or general practitioner/family physician (2016 NOC 3112), the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) MUST do an ECA for your primary medical diploma. The IRCC page has not been updated but my guess is that the NOCs 3111 and 3112 (2016 NOC) are equivalent to 31101 and 31102 (2021 NOC) respectively.

I checked MCC website and I'm a tad bit confused. Any doctors in the house please? How were you able to do your ECA and which body is recommended?
Thank you

Please has anybody successfully moved from the UK to Canada? I've a brother that's a PR and he's asking me to come with my family. I'm sceptical about this as I don't know why he thinks Canada is better than the UK. He hasn't lived in the UK so he doesn't have practical experience. I want someone who has lived in both countries to kindly share their practical experience. My wife is really emotional about the whole thing as she wants us to leave the UK but I don't want to go and start all over again as one is getting settled here by God's grace. Pls help
I've booked for IELTS test to make her happy but thinking of cancelling it.

lived in both

Pros- Canada PR equals citizenship after living there for 3 years. You can work for different employers as you like. UK- 5 years on work permit tied to an employer plus one year ILR. Changing jobs or industry is not easy. So basically your mind no dey at rest for 5 years thats assuming you were able to get the tier 2 sponsorship.

You can get grants to study some courses if you want to change career, some are studying nursing for free, some moved to tech and for grants for tuition.

Better salaries and promotions. Immigrants are getting to director/ senior management positions easily in Canada, same can’t be said for UK. You also get employment positions from USA based companies than in uk.

Canada is safer for a black family raising kids than Uk.

Cons- Uk is more fun and closer to Nigeria, cheaper Nigerian food items.

Thank you for prompt response. The major challenge I have with thus Canada stuff is I don't want to get there and be surviving on odd jobs like working in factories or care homes. How easily can one get a job? I'm into IT and here, I haven't even finished my study when I got a role with NHS. Again, with how difficult it is for people coming to the UK to get a job now, I don't want to be in that shoe in Canada. Reason for my fear and wify doesn't understand.

talk to your brother. With Canada PR you can do soft landing and stay outside for 3 years in a 5 years period. Meaning you don't have to move fully till you get a job so you keep doing your nhs job. Shikena

Myself and my wife are currently living in Uk. My wife is a registered nurse, I work as a secondary school teacher, I went into teaching simply because of the limited opportunities here in Uk, I told myself I wouldn’t do dirty jobs here in England just for survival. I’m a bioengeer, I lived in Norway for three years I had a better life over there but I had to move down to uk because of my kids, I always wanted my kids to grow up in an English speaking environment. Let me explain something to you people who have very good jobs here in uk, I mean they earn over 70k pounds are not doing better than I am because of the tax, when you earn over 50k pounds you get taxed by 40percent, at the end of the year their salaries and mine does not have much difference. The country is structured in such a way that they don’t want you to stack to much money in your account. You see lots of people with masters degree working in care homes, ware house doing all sorts of odd jobs they have got no choice. Have got two siblings in Canada one completed his masters few months ago he got a job worth 95k cad a year, it’s difficult to get such here na only grace of god fit make you get am for here. Lots of business you can venture into compared to Uk. I’m sure the role you claimed you got with nhs is data analyst which is around 29k to 32k per annum, if you remove tax your take home is way lesser than guys living in Canada. If you take your brother’s advice I’m sure you won’t regret it.
