Tottenham were in the conference league last season..I'm pretty sure that Tottenham team was better than the current Newcastle team...They didn't make it out of the group stage...

Club brugge that sits 4th in the Belgian pro league
Genk is the only club that can compete with Burnley and a victory for them is not sure

According to the final standing on the table, even if they had played and won that game, they might not have qualified based on goal difference since they would be tied on points and H2H rule with Vitesse... I think a team of Tottenham calibre should be topping a group with Rennes, Vitesse and Mura

Again, Fikayo Tomori left out of the English squad. Does he need a prophet to know he should pivot. He could as well play for Canada for all I care, but waiting on the sidelines to get a chance (he'll probably never get) is just funny.

Lolll

Leave am

He doesn't want to swallow his pride. That's why

He knows Naija is the way and he'd surely start in our team

To each his way. He's man enough to know what's good for him

Osimehn told Zeleinski to take the penalty.I think we are too emotional regarding our players.
Zeleinsski caused the penalty and then asked Oshimen if he can take it. How does he expect him to say no? He shouldn't have asked instead he should have given it to Oshimen for his hat trick. That's how team players do! Zeleinsky deserves all the smoke he is getting. Even Henry, Richard's and Gallagher were not happy with Zeleinski.

Super Eagles very uninspiring list

Ahmed Musa as usual gets his reserved spot

Joe Aribo who doesn't even make bench the last few months, Frank Onyeka and Ndidi who just got back from injury make up 3 of the only 4 midfielders

Imagine having a YumYum players, captain of the worst u20 team we've fielded in recent time making the list.

The coach in charge of our national football team should promptly release the list of players who will participate in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers. It is essential that only the most capable and experienced players are chosen for this crucial tournament, and therefore it is imperative that fringe players are excluded from consideration.

To ensure that our team performs at the highest level and has the best chance of success in the AFCON qualifiers, the coach must make wise and informed decisions when selecting the team. This includes carefully evaluating the skill level and experience of each player, as well as their ability to work well with others and contribute effectively to the team's overall strategy.

By avoiding the selection of fringe players, who may lack the necessary skill or experience to compete at the highest level, the coach can ensure that our team is composed of the strongest and most capable players available. This will help to maximize our chances of success in the AFCON qualifiers, and ultimately increase our chances of winning the tournament.

Therefore, it is crucial that the coach takes the time to carefully evaluate each player and select only the most qualified and experienced individuals for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers. This will ensure that our team is in the best possible position to succeed, and that we can achieve our goals of winning the tournament and representing our country with pride and distinction.

Make we dey calm down o.. There was a time Osimhen was also balling in the Belgian league but was drafted to play for the u-23 to help them qualify for the AFCON.. Chukwueze and Awoniyi where in the team too, if memory serves me right .. From the report, the u-23 qualifier falls under the FIFA international break and the team will be camping in Abuja with the super eagles...so that's enough opportunity for Peseiro to take a closer look at him..I support his call up to the super eagles too,but the u-23 isn't bad..

lovewins:

No sir.

Playing u23 isn't an insult. It's an honour and should be regarded as such. We should learn to have these players go through the process, especially if the national team is so swamped they will likely not play.

Olise currently plays u21 for France and it isn't insulting. He'll definitely get to feature for the Eagles soon but let's encourage this.

Cecco90:

Calm down. This is his first full season in professional football.
U-23 is not bad. I would have even said U-20 but he is not eligible.

The S.E is not scoring goals from open play..

S.E needs players that can convert at least 1 in 2 chances..

Aribo is not a midfielder.

Is onyedika and bonke injured

Ndidi is the only DM on the list.

So the coach is going to use 4-2-4 again. Iwobi and Ndidi as the midfielders.

While chukwueze, Moses Simon, Osimhen and Ihenacho start.

I prefer Moffi starting ahead of Ihenacho.

When we loose to senegal in the quater finals of the nations cup he will be sacked.
Senegal will overun our thin midfield and musa will come in as a sub in the match.
When u repeat your mistake. It is not a mistake but a decision

Yes.

They aren't even NNL players, they are clubs used by NFF folks to launder players. It's basically an academy designed for that purpose.

We might need to resort to shaming some of these players publicly cause they are complicit to the decay of national team football.

How do you expect as a player to feature ahead of in form players because you curry favour from your guys in the NFF? What else is Musa doing in the team? He's obviously not going to the next world cup, why is he still hanging around the team?

Can't players who genuinely know they don't deserve a place based on current form decline invitations? Isn't it honourable?

Musa is slowly losing some respect from fans... People like the guy for his benevolence and leadership qualities, but he has gone back on his word that he would quit the team after the last AFCON... He should have retired.... Its either he wants to stay longer so there won't be talks about how he retired from international football at an early age due to age cheating,or some big men in the NFF still want him around...it can never be about the money, cus the man is already made...

Top players like Osimhen need to start declining invitations if the NFF will not do the right thing . You can't function optimally as a player is you are surrounded by mediocre players.

Why frustrate a potentially great team by including fringe and out of form players because you want to do a few players some favours?
