Electricity na F9.... The funny thing I find premiumly funny. I can very well remember when PMB entered and in the first few months of his first term we had incredible power supply for like 4-6 months straight depending on your locality. And some Nigerians were celebrating Buhari's CHANGE Magic. 🌚 People were ignorant that his regime was actually the beneficiary of many IPP projects coming online in his first term. Many of the GEJ NIPP projects was commissioned few months to the elections and some were still commissioned few months when Buhari was sworn in and people started to believe they were actually Buhari's projects. How can you deliver on such project in 3 months?? But no one was ready for reasoning.

Look at the state of electricity now. Nigeria experienced the worst power outage in 2022 with total national grid collapse many times we can count. This same govt signed Siemens Electricity Deal and on surface level it seemed promising and I was really happy that finally something might be done or improved albeit slightly in the sector. But na this same weyreys call off the deal with the company. Only to be back again in the deal sometime mid last year. Something that should have kick-started in full throttle in 2021 and by 2022 be done with 1dt phase and we get a transmission capacity of 7000MW.

By 2024, we would have gotten to 10-12,000MW if the deal had not been delayed and followed through. Just imagine.... Cos now even if Nigeria like we produce 40,000MW of electricity, none of the citizens or industries will get this supply cos our transmission lines can't take above 5000MW. Funny enough the country actually generates 7000MW but the total can't be fed to our lines thus losing money on wasted supply. That's why this stupid generation and transmission act in exclusive list is irking me. Mini/Micro grids should be aggressively pursued now independent from the National Grid.

A sweet deal was brought to and this people dey drag feet. I feel that project should be shown the utmost importance and urgency that was shown in the railway programme. It's impact in the economy would be felt instantly compared to the railway investment that takes time and is a long term growth investment. To me it has the capacity to double our gdp growth if electricity generation down to distribution is brought to at least 10,000MW.

The Zungeru hydro project is incoming in a few years time as well as a few other power projecs but the funny thing is we don't even have capacity to actually distribute what it'll generate. FGs focus over the years have been on generation and distribution and totally forgotten about transmission which I feel is much more important.

Wetin dey pain me for this Siemens Deal is that based on the projections and analysis by the German company, about 15,000MW thereabouts would be delivered in 5-7yrs. That's very impressive for me taking into account how bad we've performed in this sector for the past 20yrs.

The sweetener was the National Grid would have been upgraded, equipped and capacity added to get up to 7000mw in just two years if it was followed through. And this weyrey people still use am take play, refused to release funds. No be say the whole funding na from fg hand oo. If they had actually used their money printing tactics to fund this project Nigerians would have been better for it by this year. But alas, APC govt no know anything about prioritisation.

Make we dey see wetin Balablu go do since he has 10,000MW in his manifesto and Peter Obi actually said he'd continue the Siemens Deal and take electricity to 15,000mw.

Sorry for the verbose.

Nigeria is gone. I agree with you now, japa is the only way forward.

Now u understand the japa gospel is the realist gospel . There’s a picture playing on AriseTv now of a policeman holding AriseTV drone camera. A police man supposed to be protecting Journalists is seizing equipment of journalist covering an election .

These politicians told the youth during ENDSARS to stop wasting their energy and get politically active. They asked them to get their PVC’s and protest with their votes; not blocking other lawful citizens from going about their day to day activities .

The youths licked their wounds , pick their battered selves up and took the advice of the political class . Now they tried protesting with their votes but what do we have ? Suppression of their votes , open intimidation of the would-be voters and physical harm being inflicted on them by thugs loyal to the political class.

What else do they want the youth to do ? Na until they drink their blood ?

I have seen many people trying to discredit the process they don't even know who to attack.

To rig an election, the base is the most susceptible (voter intimidation, voter suppression, vote buying, violence and what not), most of the manufactured or altered result happens at the local level (PU and Ward).

Every party worth it's name have a situation room where it collates its own result from agents, some for every local government, to beat that, methods are employed to exploit loopholes in security and other technicalities at the base.

People need to be aware that the INEC Nat chairman only gets results brought to him (already collated and all) from states and his own team at the center is responsible for summing up the results of all states, as is.

The only power the chair has is to consult and check the provisions of the constitution regarding a few things and thereafter makes decision, such as announcing winner if the constitution is satisfied, calling for a re-run or in an instance of widespread documented violence, calls for the cancellation of election in some places.

You have said it all.

It's the condition of the jungle we re in..

But if you can japa, please japa and don't look back

And you dey blame politicians with this kind mindset?? I no go surprise if Nigeria still no better for the next 50yrs if you somehow enter govt in a few years. Who go come deliver Nigeria since all of us go still do wetin we dey chastise others from?
