I don't know. Until we have clear examples/instances of such, our assumptions are just what they are - assumptions, templated on ambiguous notions.

You related it to Akwa Ibom and Cross River so I had to respond.

LOL. Kin..gTom, you want to see some names of Akwa Ibomites who held key positions in not just UniCal SUG which is a federal school but CruTech?
No need to go back and forth brother, you know what you know and I know what I know. smiley

Airmark, who are the "they" in this scenario??

Who are the people that wanted to take over Lagos? I would like you to be more explicit.

I doubt if these guys will remain in LP.

The one that won the NASS ticket was formerly an APC member.

Tinubu has a way of appeasing even the opposition to join him, or at least, be at peace with him.

By 2027, we go know how many remain

Ehnehn? grin

It may seem as if this lends credence to some reports I've been seeing about Tinubu calling and sending 'pacifists' to Obi to beg him to let go of the court case and accept the presidential result.

If that is true, it'll be interesting to see what plays out in the coming months in light of the bolded above.

Tinubu explores means to always stay on top.

I don't know if he is begging Obi, but Tinubu is that guy that can give Obi a position, just so they can be on the same page.

You can win a seat in Lagos as an opposition.
Staying in that seat is where the problem lies.

Before you know it, you will be enticed and you will find yourself carrying broom up and down

What is wrong with the bolded? Why is gloating over tinubu's loss in Lagos a bad thing?

the irony is you already know what the issues are - as you stated them very clearly previously

Donjazet2:

Unfortunately those trends are very damaging for a political leader..

I'm saying it again. I would never want to know what a post grv governorship win looks like.

I myself is just trying to picture a gubernatorial candidate of Anambra being found out that he's married to a Fulani woman and might have made soo many pro-fulani posts. I personally have no problem with it and soo wish we live in a Nigeria where this is not a problem, where identity is not a problem but I know that would be a relations catastrophe.

Many conservative yorubas in Lagos habor unfounded deep seethed fears that "igbos are colonizing Lagos". Having a half-igbo governor with visibly pro-igbo sentiments especially right now when they are dealing with the gigantic shock of an igbo man defeating their number one politician there will invariably spur catastrophe.

Again I truly wish this was not a factor and you make good points for him but there is no rationalization here for him winning at this moment. There will untold proportions of violence and blood shed in Lagos. This could actually spark another national war.

Donjazet2:
One thing I know for a fact is that circumstances do not favor gvr with these revelations..

For a long long time, many ethnic yorubas have had heightened fears due to political propaganda that "igbos were taking over Lagos". The statement "Lagos is a no man's land" is something which infuriated the yorubas very much. This election cycle, circumstances favored obi very much, from being the best candidate on the ballot, to being an outsider, to being a symbol of political revolution, in short, obi won Lagos "inspite" of being igbo not "because" he was igbo.
But I'm sure that that victory will have served as a validation of the fears many of these ethnic jingoists had habored for years.. for fvcks said, an igbo man just defeated the Jagaban. The asiwaju of yoruba land. The foremost politician in the west. That is a huge banger! It's a shock.

On a norms, any good and decent candidate will ride the wave of Obi and win the state too but for the candidate to have this very kind of "baggage", a baggage that they dread very much, I don't see how he pulls it off..

He's gone! And that's even for the best in my opinion.

Gvr winning Lagos after these revelations will spark operation wetie 2.0.
they will undoubtedly be ethnic tension and bloodshed. No question about the genocide that ensues thereafter.

Dayo will personally travel down to Lagos with his guns and shoot on sight every igbo looking mothafucka. You don't need to look igbo sef, just spot anything labor and you're sent to your maker..

Gvr better use him hand drop out now.

Donjazet, there was no precedence in Lagos of Igbos being targeted. Not in 2011, 2015, or 2019. Izu, I, and the others who vehemently countered your rhetorics did so based on precedence. You were asked to produce one instance of such but you couldn't.

Two truths can exist:
1. It didn't happen in the past in Lagos, and;
2. It happened yesterday.

It almost seems like, regardless of the election results outcome, you wanted the tribal-themed violence to happen so much so you can have your "I told you so" moment(s).

----
Here's something else which has to be pointed out: Stop triggering people needlessly!

You underestimate how calling Lagos "No Man's Land" and Obi " The New King of Lagos" did as a rallying cry. You were giving the tribal extremists weapons to aim at you.

It's pretty obvious why though.

Those tribal past post of GRV coulda been a factor. Plus the switching of names across different election cycle shows he's not as oblivious to the tribal agenda as he would like to claim. One would also expect the typical drama and propaganda of an election from oppositions using these variables

Not sure the past elections had these factors

Some of them might not truly know the main reason behind the movement, but it was a matter of time before it leaked and it did GRV in.

Cool, but don't post falsehood. At least not about what's mine.

The prevailing topic today has been about the tribal-themed election violence in Lagos yesterday and the hateful tribal narratives all through. Out of the blues, you mentioned Akwa Ibomites and Cross Riverians are just as tribalistic.

I was never going to let that fly, characteristically, so I countered it with verifiable fact.

Focus on the topic or turn a blind eye, but don't falsely use my people as justification for endorsing the madness which happened in Lagos and the narratives leading up to it.

I'd always defend my constituency. I've done so since day one on Nairaland.

This sounds funny considering that the victims can simply prove their tribe by showing their PVC.

All this internet stories

So you really do not get it. 🤣🤣🤣

It doesn't matter what your name is. It doesn't matter even if you speak Yoruba or not. There is not proof that will be enough.

How exactly do you think you can defend yourself against profiling, when the profiler has their minds set on what they think you look like and will not even allow you make a case? undecided

Finally, I don't want to believe that this is a justification for racial discrimination. Before anyone has to prove their ethnicity with their PVCs, why should they need to prove that in the first place? Is a confirmation of the PU (and accreditation as well) not the only necessary thing(s)?

Lagos rejected shinedu, if you don't like it, go and kill yourself.

Angry degenerates trying to force half of what they cannot take down our throats.

If you want others to accept you, you have to lead by example.
Let Yorubas or any other tribe rule in your city like Yorubas have done over and over again by giving posts and chance in the past, then we will talk.

I'm glad Yorubas are waking up too and they have stop seeking the validations of these people.

Yes if the Igbos foolishly allow the Yorubas to milk it by showing their tribalistic plans too early.

In everything, ask for wisdom. I believe GRV and other sensible Igbos in Lagos would be smart in their approaches, going forward.
