Good evening everyone. I need your advise please, my wife's sister is a Nurse, works for a private hospital in Nigeria, and would like to come visiting in the UK. My wife's graduating in June/July and I wanted to check what her chances is as regards visa approval. I spoke with someone and they advised, she needed Six months bank statement for visa application, I'm not too sure how it works, I feel like we are covering her expenses and would be taking care of her while she's here, she earns 150,000 monthly and I have been told the salary is too small and it won't fly! I need advise please and what are the documents required. Many thanks and I look forward to your replies. |

Hello everyone, My mum was refused, a visit visa in 1995( first ever refusal) She is a retiree, she retired in 2019 and was not paid her pension until mid 2022. Last year she applied to attend my brother’s graduation but was denied the visa because she has not received her pension. She stated in her application last year, that her daughter was going to sponsor her trip. Last year, the fed govt paid her pension and we decided she apply again this year. My brother got his tier 2 visa and also sent all his supporting documents. She was refused again on the basis that she has large deposits in her account. The large sum is her pension lump sum payments that the govt paid, which we explained in a cover letter and also attached the pension documents and bank statement highlighting the deposits. They also mentioned inconsistent monthly spending- we tried to calculate her monthly expenses and arrived at that figure. However, that cannot be accurate because sometimes, she spend more than 150k monthly, buying medications and a few other things that is just one time purchases. We give her monthly income( money from family) and also the monthly pension stipend she receives from the govt and calculated all of this, that’s how we arrived at yearly income. Additionally, the Visa officer mentioned 3 refusals and she has just 2 ( the one in 1995 and the one last year). I have attached the refusals, the one for last year and the most recent one this year. Please attached. I am so pained and I feel like she should reapply because the reasons for refusal is just something else. How soon do you think she should reapply and what do you all think we should have done better. Please what do you all think? I would appreciate the feedback. Apologies for the long write up. Thank you all!

Joomie: No, you don't need a letter. I usually just ask for my statement of account. It's something you can get easily. Just use it like your savings or current account statement of account. I hope this helps. 3 Likes |

AwesomeM: So sorry for the refusals. I hope your mum isn't too upset. My thoughts: 1. Don't reapply now. It will `be a red flag 2. Reduce the sponsorship figure. N1.5M is a bit high. Reduce it to between 900k and N1M. I assume someone will accomodate and feed your mum in the Uk. Therefore, she doesn't need a lot of money from her sponsor 3. Retirees are usually a suspect. The ECO will suspect she might want to stay in the UK since she's not working in Nigeria and she doesn't have any serious business she is doing here. Therefore, it is important that you prove her ties to Nigeria. In summary, what will make her come back to Nigeria? You need to prove that. 4. Also, the allowances she receives must be consistent every month. That helps to prove her source of income. 5. In future, it might be better to over estimate her monthly expenses rather than under estimate. I do that for my aged mother because sometimes, she might need to pay for something in one month which will increase her expenses for that month. I hope this helps 5 Likes |

Hello House. I’m on a skilled worker visa and have been in UK since September 21 2022. Now I just processed my wife’s application and she did her biometric on 1st of March 2023. Then on 7th of March 2023 she was told sent a mail for police clearance (police report) which she sent back to them on 8th the next day after that she got an automated mail interpreter that she the document has been received and till now we haven’t heard anything from them. Does dependant visa takes so long? All the screenshot of mail is attached to the text. Any experience on this pls share. Thanks

AwesomeM: keep her incomes "specific and accurate" for 6months either pensions or from Family. Keep the monthly outgoing funds "specific or ranging the declared" if possible. Explain every income sources including the pensions in a cover letter. Keep the travel budget reasonable. |

Good morning everyone! Please I need your advise, I have paid my initial deposit and it has been acknowledge (September intake) I got a questionnaire that if I have been denied Visa in UK OR other countries YES or NO I have been denied Visa in US, Germany and France. My fear is, if I agree and they because of that reject me or I said No, and they find out I lied. I'm just confused, some guys said I should not agree that, UK can not access or find out if I was rejected in those countries. Others said I should say yes and explained the reasons. Someone in the school WhatsApp said his friend in Boston University said YES, and he lost his admission. Pls help me, I need your advise |

mckellenkins:Not declaring doesn't mean you will be granted because of it, declaring it won't also stop you from receiving a Visa if you qualify. Declare it and prove your ties. I have never seen a VO state "I'm denying you because USA, Germany, and France has denied you visa in the past". It's always because of "applicant withholding facts". 4 Likes |

mckellenkins: you’re hilarious. Why would using a new passport nullify your previous denials. Unless the passport carries an entirely different identity, name and biometrics . You must think developed countries are like the Banana Republic we run in most WA countries where data and records are our biggest issues. With this intentionally criminal act, you’re clearly deserving of all the denials you’ve gotten. Goodluck beating the system though. I should have known from the first question. I mean, coming here to ask us if you should lie on your application (knowing fully well the “appropriate” option) is usually a red flag. |

Hi Guys, can I appeal a refusal with no right of appeal or administrative review? I upload an expired residency permit instead of the valid one. Can I appeal or reapply the visa. Cc Cashmadam dirolad |
