Now that the National Isese Day has been signed into law in Brazil with Ooni of Ife gracing the occasion, it's time the Ooni called for a national Isese day in Nigeria to be declared by the government.

This will be a good step to further preserve the Yoruba culture and history.

APC played a very cunning game in benue. That tricky situation where you know people dislike your platform so you pick a genuinely good and favorable person to headline the ticket there. Nice one. cheesy

Although the father should know himself how toxic his party is viewed at the national level in his state. If he is to make a good politician, then he is to put sufficient distance between himself and tinubu and co at the national level just as he's done throughout the campaign. If he's seen as a lackey of the national party, that goodwill will erode.

No. Some of the Yoruba victims of the trans-Atlantic slavery trade settled in Brazil and other countries like Cuba, the US, and others.

The Yorubas in those countries abroad today are descendants of those Yoruba slaves.

The documentary "Bigger than Africa" does justice to Yoruba history and how the European and Arab trans-atlantic slave trade affected the Yoruba people.

That documentary and the movies "Ayinla" and "Anikulapo" are some of the best movies I've seen on the Yoruba history and culture in recent times.

While watching Ayinla, a Yoruba movie about the life and times of the great Yoruba artist Ayinla Omowura, I recalled the line, "leke leke gbarada", in one of his songs and wondered why some Yoruba elders thought the late artist used some juju (perhaps gbarada or stealing the glory of others) to boost his musical prowess.

I did some research on this claim and did not see any evidence to believe such (gbarada) is real.

I think Ayinla was a gifted artist. I wonder why people in this part of the world believe juju is the source of the gift of talented people.

Donjazet2:

You've been asking me this and I'll answer just like I always stated throughout my campaign for Obi.

In an election, there are 2 basic reasons for voting someone. 1. Either You're voting for the candidate because of his values and what his candidacy represents or 2, you are voting against the opponents values or what their candidacy represents.

I personally will love to see the day a candidate's state of origin or gender will not matter or be a factor in his\her eligibility for office.

As for gvr versus sanwoolu, why I would personally lean towards gvr is wholly because of the fact that at the core of the obidient movement is a desire to totally upend the status quo. To retire all current political class and breed a new class of leaders who would recognize that their victory was down to the masses and not anything else.

It's why we're jubilant with what is happening in Enugu, in abia, hopefully in imo and Anambra. And hoped will happen in other areas too. To have a new breath of fresh air in our politics.

So again, as for lagos, sanwoolu represents the status quo, worse the cronyistic godfatherism that has entirely captured the entire political and civil service structure in the state. Where funds are opaque, where corruption is strife and where one man has the final say. Nobody likes to see that in a democracy. Nobody.

Please answer the question I asked you, I am not interested in why you love GVR and hate Sanwo:

If in a state in your region, a gubernatorial candidate born of a northern mother, with no governance experience, was exposed to have ridiculed your tribe and fraternised with a deadly Arewa group in the past, now contesting to become a governor, won't you condemn and possibly vote against him as a true son of your father?

Be sincere to yourself, and if you lie may amadioha strike you to death

I don't know the history of Yoruba people in diaspora. If you believe they took over people's land in those places, you can present your evidence.

I don't even know where the money is going. All the money released by the banks into circulation is nowhere to be found and the scarcity is starting to bite hard again. Just yesterday I helped someone collect 20k. Thank God he didn't come for it. I have now kept 10k for myself and will give him the remaining 10k.

As for the link, we will have to wait and see what happens on Thursday. The last time they received shishi from the CBN was before the supreme court judgment.

Hopefully, they will do as they have said. Fingers crossed.

They won't be permanently safe in Nigeria. Their continuous stay in Nigeria is a risk.
I do t know if you are related to Ekweremadu that you are so emotional about the whole thing.

That man should be well punished if found guilty. You get time to pity a Naija politicians that has no pity for the masses they plunge into poverty and misery.

That boy is no way the cause of their woes. They wanted to exploit him...but it backfired. if the daughter is complicit, she should face the music as well. No member of their familly deserves to live with one kidney, thats why they need a very poor boy who they can exploit easily.

Do you even know what would have happened to the boy if the transplant was successful? Do you 100% believe they would have settled him well as promised? No be here people dey sell their votes on credit due to hunger? Did it ever occur to you that as evil politician, Ekweremadu and his cohorts can use that boy and dump him back empty handed? That guy might not be alive today if this shoddy business was well prosecuted and covered.
