Believeintruth:Who is covering up for them? I am telling you the possibilities that exist so that you could broaden your mind and not attack what the government says it want to do. If they choose to do it on land, they'd find suitable space. Else, they can use the water option too. Read about floating solar plants sir. It's possible. |
Re: Sanwo-Olu Unveils Lagos Electricity Market. by Nobody: 1:49pm On Mar 23, 2023 |
Believeintruth: Stop this show of ignorance bro. The UK has a scheme where it gives grants to home owners for installing home solar system for household use. When excess electricity is generated, that household do not use, it can then be sold back into the national grid creating the cumulative generation, to serve everyone. This essentially makes the roof of every UK household an electricity generator and grid contributor. It is the sort of scheme that can work wonderfully well in Lagos if it can be financed innovatively. If I know this, as a layman, then trust me when I say technocrats in the field, far more knowledgeable than I am, are available to Lagos to deliver solutions and overcome problems. That is what effective leadership is about. 1 Like |

barrysome001: Bro, I personally know the SW is actually mirroring the likes of the UK, Sweden etal as a development template of independent regional socio-economic accelerated growth. The argument of the obdurate fellow you responded to only stands if the Government wants to be inflexibly involved in the delivery of power solutions. That is the option that necessitates solar farms, needing vast land, the government controls 100%. If the Government views every Nigerian household and roof as a development partner in the need to meet energy transition plans, as the UK has no choice but to do, then the plan becomes very simple. Subsidise the cost of solar energy purchase and installation for household and it may actually complement the Lagos grid enough to be a pivotal contribution to an optimally adequate energy supply mix. 2 Likes |

OneTemplate: Hope the governor doesn't plan to use solar as Lagos state's primary source of electricity. Western govts in Europe that tried solar energy as a main source saw shege. They were almost reduced to begging Putin for energy. They are turning back to nuclear, hydro and thermal energy sources. Solar energy is not so reliable. The energy can't be efficiently stored for now. It is best used as a secondary source of power for now. Except the technology to store the power generated improves by 2030. |

This is not abt government house, osiomo powers all government buildings and ministries, street light and some banks and other businesses in the entire city for those who can afford it, all their distribution poles and cables are allover Benin city, I tink it is the 1st independent power plant that generate, transmit and distribute power directly to consumers in Nigeria, there's another one in edo state the azura power plant that one only feed d national grid. Tobijays: Lol nothing a four year government can achieve wow. Have you gone to Republic of Benin? You need to go there and see what's happening everyday in terms of development and infrastructure. Nigerians are not serious for real governance yet that's why we keep getting the mediocrity the government gives us. Governor go use billions do ordinary fly over for 4 good years and you say a government can't achieve anything in four years. Russia that's at war rebuilt mariopol that was totally destroyed by missiles in less than a year. Dey play o just dey play |

Adjovi:put 200 m citizens in UK them go enter crises talk less of Benin republic! How many police officers we got for 200 million peeps? Less than 200k how many doctors less than 100k! If Nigeria was half in what we have now in terms of pop you might see what government is doing !But with this population we never see shit! Go to any gov ernment hospital right now and ask for paracetamol! Majority of them don’t have and the ones that got will finish in a day or two! If governments spend 2 bill on paracetamol at 100 naira per one it is going to amount to 20 mil units! So how long before it finishes? Except government focus on Agriculture, Water and exploration of economic minerals resources while they hands off Power, Education and Health let the privates drive those! Taxation and setting up of Government skills acquisition centers unless you attend you can get licensed for tailoring, auto mechanics and the likes. Our population is increasing yet our income is reducing what happens when crude oil is outdated? |

Re: Sanwo-Olu Unveils Lagos Electricity Market. by Tobijays: 4:48pm On Mar 24, 2023 |
Adjovi:all our past presidents were failures! Non with a future building legacy! I read a lot about Tinubu so I am looking forward to whether he performs or he is brain dead like the rest of them! The only person that came close was Awolowo with that free education thingy! Everyone in west was majorly into farming, doing anything apart from being in the farm then was laziness which was greatly frowned upon! So he first made it free and also gave incentives to students so that they won’t miss a class! That bore the government educational system we got in Nigeria! Now Government can’t afford it anymore! Bro if you want a better country, then take what I say to you as gold! Give yourself that life you want! Make massive money for you and take care of all your kids! Forget about the country! Tribalism, Nepotism Corruption and black man mentality( make I chop make nobody chop so them go dy worship me), e dy every family for this country! The only way is if Nigeria divides, that is the first step out of many |
