25% in 24 states and Abuja. Because Abuja is not a state, it would have been listed as part of the states,so getting 25% in Abuja is additional. You can get your 25% in other 24 states without Abuja. Where in the world are they using state capital winning to determine the winner What's special about Abuja that 25% is a must there? 3 Likes 1 Share |

FCT has been declared by the supreme court to have the status of the 36 states. Read the case of Bakari V. Ogundipe (2021) 5 NWLR (Pt 1768) 1 SC . The Supreme declared that the FCT has the status of the 36 states. It is settled law. The only thing the supreme court will do here is reaffirm it in respect to the presidential elections. Section 134 must be read together with section 299 of the same constitution. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Corn eaters have been finding it hard to swallow the corn they've been chewing, just because of small law suit.... If they are so sure of victory, why have they been hyperventilating? They boldly said go to court, now to swallow na problem. Ugo. C . Shege 5 Likes |

chief, you are wrong.... it has not been amended by the constitution yet. when given the status of s state, then Abuja must have a governor, state house of Assembly and other state packages. no ruling is ever above the constitution. las na court all of these matters go end up Ireportlive: |

Point of correction FCT is not a Federating state, but has a status of a state. A state is governed by a Governor and state legislature and judiciary. The President (akin to Governor of a state) governs FCT by appointing a minister (proxy) to act for him. He CANNOT assume the position of FCT "governor", without 25% votes. That is the constitution and that is the LAW (QED) Argue all you want, No President can be elected or has ever been elected without getting 25% votes in FCT |
