Our midfield got outshone and outmuscled by a player who features in the Iranian Persian Gulf Pro League, Bura Nogueira. Smh. Our midfield issue has degenerated into a state of emergency. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

A midfield of Iwobi, Onyeka and Ndidi would have also done nothing. The limitations are still glaring even in that 3 man midfield setup. Nigeria played same Guinea Bissau at Afcon 2021 (in January 2022) and dominated in midfield plays, properly transitioning plays with ease. We paraded Ndidi and Nwakali in the middle that day and Iwobi on the right. Bura Nogueira played that game and got outclassed on the overall. He couldn't hold a feather to an Nwakali-Ndidi led midfield. Keep looking away from the truth. . 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Serious African teams are winning... Senegal, Egypt.. their players aren't that better than ours if we use their club performance as a yardstick...But they are better coached and their football federation know what they need... Senegal commissioned a world class stadium last year and ut has become a fortress.. 2 Likes |

BannedLarge: Osimhen needs to boycott the S.E if they keep inviting players like moses simon, onuachu, chukwueze, osayi Samuel, ihenacho to the team. That's like inviting 5 Insignes to the team, players who want to be the one to score the goals. Osimhen can only thrive with players making him the focal point of attack, the person to pass to or cross to or play corners to.. |

TheSuperNerd: I made the above post earlier this year in January and it mentioned Etebo. I have been carefully following all our midfielders' progress this 22/23 season and it really disgusted me when I saw Jpes' midfield list. Tagging it "Horrific" is an understatement. NB: It didn't include Orban coz he was making his move on deadline day in January. do4luv14: 1 Like |

Someday we gonna get it right but until then, here are my thoughts. Every game we invite the same starting 11 that don't know the first rule of the game. TEAMWORK! We pretend that the midfield problems have been fixed and expect things to just start off. Nothing has changed. It is still Rohr's mentality playing out in the team though we have a different coach. Can someone also help us discern any noticeable philosophy of Peseiro (the provider of Lies) All he does is invite players and insha Allah. It is a wonder how we will have array of good players and struggle to win. On top of that people will start to blame it on bad pitches. I didn't watch the match and can't say I am surprised we lost. Same song we been singing since the days of yore. My panacea? Fix the midfield issues with the aim of controlling the game and full frontal attack. But who am I kidding? That's never gonna happen with a certain Moses Simon overdoing simple things as well as dodgy team selections that only cause imbalance to the team 1 Like |

kennysville: If we don't get it right before the next international break then the S.E is doomed. The quality of strikers the S.E has now won't be there in the next 10 - 12 years. Look at Italy even though they won the euros. Once the era of inzaghi, del piero, de rossi, totti, pirlo e.t.c they have struggled to qualify for the world cup twice. |
