gergemam: https://www.nairaland.com/7534564/living-uk-propertymortgage-related Best place to ask.. While a Tier 4 can in theory buy a house, I don't think it's practical. Firstly, you'd hardly find a lender and if you do, amongst many other demands, they will require 25% or even much higher deposit. Tier 4 is a temporary visa, I'd advise changing status first. There are so mylany other issues too. If you get a £150k house, it would be in a location that uou may not intend to stay for long after your visa expiration or you end up with an apartment with a short lease! 2 Likes |

Solumtoya: If you join an osusu group of 20 people, @ £500 per month......... Let's assume you pack last, you would be collecting £10K ....... £10K parked....... Repeat process, another £10K parked in 40 month's (not touching your collection)..... In 60 month's, £30K parked....... Source extra funds for conveyancing, survey etc etc ........ And if it's a couple combining resources...... EVEN EASIER...... NEVER SAY NEVER.......😂🤣😜🔒🔐 NO PAIN ..... NO GAIN..... 11 Likes |

EJIOGBENIMI: 1. Yes, your electricity bill will be reviewed periodically (like every 6 months) and if they notice increase in usage, your estimated bill will go up and vice versa. 2. Auto trader is safe but like every other online or physical purchase in UK or Nigeria, you have to be very cautious! 2 Likes |

She can apply for herself and dependents using her 6 months bank statement. Did you all come into the U.K. together? quote author=bluebella post=122025135]Good day elders, Please for those that have applied for IHS refund. My spouse has worked in the Health care industry for the past one year and about to apply for the IHS refund. Can she include the children as well? Lexusgs430: Oh, didn't know you were referring to 60-month plan o! By 60 months, ILR fee don jam the person! Family of 6 dey pay £14k+ for ILR Anyway, 60 months is very feasible. Most folks are looking for a formula to raise it within a year or two cos of the pressure of "dead money" and I'd say it's doable but you're not struggling alone, we are in this together even Citizens so no too pressure yourself, just do your best. N.B: I wish I can find esusu people sef. How person wan find 20 "Trusted" people. A friend requested I join one recently. He's been searching for a 4th person since! 4 Likes |

Following the discussion that rent money is dead money, I have seen some comments callling LLs useless and all sorts which is quite sad. The call to get into the property ladder ASAP I believe is to motivate and encourage those that have not started thinking about it or those that thinks it is impossible to have a change of heart. That should not in any way undermine any landlord in the property business just like every other businesses making money out there. There is no under bridge to stay pending when we get our own houses so the landlords too play a role here; so quit the name calling. Don't paint it like LLs are a set of evil people doing their best to strangle tenants finances. When people define salary as the money your employer pay you to forget your dreams, they forget that you need that salary to pursue your dreams. 12 Likes 1 Share |

MichaelUde: That is a very valid point and a lot of Nigerians/Africans coming into the UK recently fall into that category. Your analysis of the situation is very realistic and i think we sometimes overblow this rent money is dead money thing. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Lexusgs430: I'm not sure that this is the solution actually, you need to earn well to be able to drop off £500, pay rent, bills, feeding and other necessities monthly for 60months. This is a risky way of saving because to get 20 trusted people to stick together for 60months is not a walk in the park, one or two people can collect their turn and do a runner before it gets to your turn. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Lexusgs430: When the time comes for you to go into residential care, your children will sell that your mortgage free property to fund your stay whereas Jimmy no house down the road that is renting will get a fully funded place from the Council 😜🤣. There are no hard and fast rules in life. 4 Likes |

rinzylee: No mind Oga Lexus with his rent money is dead money 🤣. Some white folks intentionally decide against buying a property or having too much savings in the bank because it makes them ineligible for State funds. |

Peerielass: Well it depends on the individual's vision and plan ultimately. Some people don't want to live in UK forever sha. At the end of the day, find out God's plan for your life and execute it. Some days I wake up and ask myself, If this life ends today, will all these worries and chasing matter anymore? I have refused to be under any pressure internal or external, no matter what is happening. My only concern is to know Christ and His Cross. Any other additional blessing, I go thank God. If house fall out, and I am able to afford, I buy. But..... Let no man trouble me, life is easy!!! 27 Likes |
