You’re still talking about things that happened ages ago……
Let us discuss without insults, let’s see what that might accomplish
DodadaKoKigbe:

The civil war originated from when Ibos initiated a coup where the killed Yoruba and Hausa leaders and did not kill a single Ibo leader. Without this, there wouldn't have been a war. Wars are easy to start but difficult to end.

And now today, okoros are beating the drum for another war because their son giringory lost an election fair and sqaure. He was not even 2nd, he was a distant 3rd. I'm glad because they cannot start this war outside of the south east. So, the military will just go to alaibo and crush the insurrection.

Was it the older generation that attacked igbos at the polling units?

Ewu Gabon.
And you don’t know paid thugs when you see one ? You think those ones have a kind of their own? Haven’t you seen the popular Ibanabo video of a guy stealing ballot box circulating online. Is ibanabo a Yoruba name ?

If the younger generation do not harbour igbo hate, they will not accept money to attack igbos.
Igbo hate is hereditary in yarribaland.

You’re obviously not in south west to have such a opinion
Especially Lagos. My best friend is an Igbo man , my seat partner in Sec school is an igbo man, my roommate for the first year in polytechnic was an igbo man. All of whom I love dearly , I don’t know any Yoruba man of my generation that has anything against Igbos

My name is Ayomide ,obviously a Yoruba man. I’m a Christian and I have no political affiliation. This should not be important to clarify but that’s the current state of the country nowadays. I’ve spent most of life in the southwest , so my opinion will be shaped only by what I’ve experienced in the southwest alone.

I’m utterly disgusted and disappointed with the current state of affairs in our country today. How did we get it so wrong ? We’ve decided to pick sides and fight each other based on affiliations that mean nothing in the greater scheme of things for politicians that look at us as statistics and not people.

I supported Peter Obi because I wanted a breathe of fresh air , because Tinubu is obviously too old and physically unfit to withstand the rigors of being president. I’m not sure he can steer us in the right path in this ever evolving world as befits a country as great as Nigeria. He obviously belongs to an older generation and he doesn’t seem to have the capabilities to “converse” ( for the lack of a befitting word )with other world leaders of the world. That is my personal opinion that I’m entitled to, my constitutional right. I did not vote Obi because I’m Igbo or because I’m a Christian.

But Tinubu has won.

I’ll say this to the Igbos that are justifiably angry and bitter and have been insulting Yorubas ( I know a lot of Igbo people that have not insulted anyone and they have my respect and thanks and such people is exempt from this) , They are bad , tribalistic people in all tribes. Painting us all with the same brush will only create enemies where they was previously none.

I’m Yoruba. And when you attack the Yoruba tribe as a whole , you attack me as well and my natural inclination is to pick a side. Let this narrative that all Yoruba hate all Igbo die and let us all move on from this. Old people fight is not young people fight. Why are we inheriting our grandfathers beef ? The people that did evil against the Igbos are long dead and facing their judgement. This generation is meant to be different. Let it be so and let us have one Nigeria instead of a divided one
Peace
How can you condemn Igbos for"insulting" yorubas without condemning the yoruba political establishment for injuring and disenfranchising voters and later mocking Igbos?

Political/legal war is on and you are feeling the heat. Insurrection will start in yorubaland after thiefnubuu is outsted and no igbo officer will intervene like 1966.

But we have middle class and elite people and we are people of class and education. All this talk is just going to ferment more hate

Fighting war with war would only cause more war. We have bigger problems, like poverty

I’m actually enjoying some conversations right now , if we can reason with each other and air grievances with one another, and come to an understanding, there’s no telling what we might accomplish
I wish you luck but I am telling you from onset that it's going to be a fruitless venture, na naija tie all of us together, you as a Yoruba man have culture and traditions that shaped you to whom you are today. Omo ti o ni ya o kin da egbo eyin, ijakuna ki rinde o san, eni a biire ki rinde oru, these among many things are what makes you who you are, respect for elders, me I take respect very serious, I get offended when someone I give respect don't give it back, we have kings that are like deities, we have elders that we don't go against. All these and more are lacking in Igbo culture. They are not organized unlike you, I can keep going but what I'm saying is. They are envious of Yoruba people, Igbos have nothing against Atiku contesting the presidency but they don't want to hear about Asiwaju, they called us names for supporting him, they called him names for contesting, they made fake photos and fake videos of him, they made songs for him but they didn't tell Atiku anything, they called Asiwaju old, but Atiku is 6 years older than Asiwaju. But it's not just politics, it was the same people that went to court over June 12 1993 election. Do you know what it means to an Igboman that two different Yorubas have been president since 1999 with another Yoruba man doing vice president for 8 years in-between.. it kills all there bragging right, it kills their moral, it demoralize them and what you have right now is a reflection how serious they take hating someone, their hate is not peculiar to Yoruba, Yoruba is just the one they hate the most, you see they are still telling you that Tinubu didn't win even after telling them about the northern spread.. Look at the news coming from SE and tell me how you think they reason or they'll reason...

Know it that as a Yoruba man, you are not on the same level of reasoning with the Igbo man

Anytime yorubas come close to national politics, tribalism increase because all they see is petty rivalry with Igbos instead of progress of the country. How can a tribe who claims to be educated be so myopic?

You really think so ? Why ? If you understand Nigeria politics well and how votes are being spread from region to region you’ll know that Tinubu won. It’s very clear to see. I know Obi will be President someday though , but not if his supporters are out here insulting everybody

You cannot say a person won when the elections were not free and fair.

You’re making the same mistake you’re complaining about. Yorubas , plural.
First of all , not to defend Tinubu , but the old man never said a bad word to malign the Igbos during or before the campaign to the best of my knowledge, neither did any major Yoruba leader that I know of. So this rivalry that you’re talking about is Mandela effect.

The first war was caused by Awolowo, the crisis and total break down of law and order started in Western region. Igbos are wiser now. You can see how we are following things up politically and legally to yorubas disappointment as they thought there would be crisis in the east. I can assure you that heavy crises will soon break out in yorubaland and igbos will stand aloof while the north finish yorubas. Our intervention in 1966 thought us bitter lesson and we will fold our hands and watch this time

Nice one OP.

How I wish this generation can put on it's thinking cap and understand that the fight of the older generation shouldn't be extended to ours.

It's no longer a fight, it is becoming a generational curse.

The mistake of the older generation have extended into our generation and if care is not taken, the next generation might inherit the same curse.

Meanwhile, you okoros are heating up the polity because your son giringory failed woefully. I am telling you that, that war you're looking for will ONLY start and end in the South East. After you're dealt with a 2nd time, we will again say no victor, no vanquished.
