Hello everyone. I have been offered admission at BGSU but not placed on funding list yet. Grad coord says he will let me know if this changes. Any advise on what else I can do? Can I still reach out to advisors in the dept for possible GA placement ? |

Nairalanders, please I need your advice on what to do. I got admission to CSUCI in November 2022 for Spring January 2023 and the amount required for F-1 visa was $35200, which was N4900000 but i had N16,000000 in my account then, when a dollar was N422. But I didn't get early appointment time. I was given August but now my date has been rescheduled to April 20 of this year and when the school sent another i-20 form to me, they used the old account statement I sent to them in December 2022. Dollar rates now fluctuates between N460-N462, which will make the $35200 to be around N16270000. My question is should I take the old account balance to the embassy or do I need to print a new one to meet up with the current dollar rates? Thanks nairalanders in advance |

Please I need suggestions. I have a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and a masters degree in Environmental Toxicology. I am interested in pursuing a phd in the environmental sciences in either the usa or canada. I currently have no publication. I have read some other thread where someone said its mandatory one has significant publication to stand any chance of getting a fully funded offer. Please I would like to know if someone can get a fully funded offer in any of those countries without any scholarly publication. Anyone interested in an environmental science phd position should link up. |

Computer88: Same here o,I also got admission with cardondale SIU, waiting for funding. Although a proff I secured prior to applying said he's still waiting for his NSF funding to be approved,if they do then he'll have funding for me for fall,he's yet to reach out tho; more so, would it be advisable to ask the grad cord to put me on waiting list just incase anybody rejects an offer? I applied for the geology Msc program, wbu? |

platypelloid:What particular STEM course is this? You have to consider ROI for a course before taking such loan please. My advise is try get funding from your department or other department in your school. Also, there is no hustle that can be done in US to pay school fees oooo, US is not UK please. 3 Likes 1 Share |

klawaaa: Kai, please are you in US or outside US? I will like to know. You are advising someone with a better chance of landing assistantship to study in US to enter as an illegal? Have you had a one on one discussion with people that entered through that route? I mean those ready to tell you the truth. Do you think it's that rosy for them? When you can enter legally, study with tuition waived and also earn better money after school, you are advising someone to come and be doing max 20$/hr job for ever? The 20$/h is even the upper limit, most is 10$/h. Abeggy oooo. This is a wrong advise, don't lead people to trouble. |

Good morning,I'm new here I wanted to know whether anyone who was rejected earlier has gotten a visa slot or the embassy has rescheduled it to a closer date. My friend got September 22nd and school resumes August 21st, and his agent is saying whether he should change his appointment to Abuja. Please can someone add me to the whatsapp group for both Abuja and Lagos Please help someone out, Thank you. |

folamorgan: You meant $35200@4.9m or 49m? If your account still covers the revised new rate at N465, then it should not be a problem if your statement is less than 6months… or to be on safe side, print a new statement of account. Good luck |

Good day ,I’m new here please can someone add me to the Abuja group chat I just scheduled my appointment and I’m looking for early date to reschedule or request emergency interview. 081322559258 Thank you. |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Wilddream: 12:19pm On Mar 26, 2023 |
BigIyanga:No,not yet The agent mentioned that in lagos the new policy is that the embassy will reschedule the date you pick, meanwhile in Abuja they've not started that policy. that's why they want to switch. Ps. this person has been trying since june 2022 and it's tiring for them, that's the reason they decided to use an agent and he is also still in school. |

folamorgan: You must understand the different types of funding and their requirements (GA, TA, RA). If you want a Research Assistantship to assist Profs with their research works, the majority of them usually request to see a writing sample. For someone going for Ph.D while, won't he/she have at least a publication? Some schools in Nigeria even mandates MSc student to have a publication before the final defense of their dissertation. 1 Like |
