The pitch of the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium.... Unfortunately it would be worn out if it is used the way the u-23 and super eagles used the Abuja stadium pitch the past few days... 4 Likes 1 Share

Marjoribanks:good reason. But you can't take away the quality of saka. I prefer his wing play to chukwueze. Chukwueze still has a lot to learn in terms of decision making in the final third. 4 Likes 1 Share |

gatecrash123:Of course, I do.. I wasn't really suggesting that the super eagles use it...but obviously, the pitch still looks good despite the number of teams using it week in week out... It may be the camera deceiving my eyes sha.. But the Abuja stadium with it's natural grass shouldn't be overused like that... The NFF ought to know better ... 1 Like |

codemaniacs:nawa o, iwobi has found his best position which is the midfield, but you think the wings "which he performed averagely" is what he needs?? In the time the super eagles are craving for creativity from the middle, you are suggesting a sacrifice of the only creative spark.. nawa oooo 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Blueelf:I misspelt the name, na Tom Saintfiet. He's the coach of Gambia that overperformed at the last afcon. He's Belgian too. Gambia has a good style of play with all their limitations and played bravely throughout the tournament. Interestingly he had been appointed as our coach once but we changed our minds and contract not executed. Truth is the guy na journeyman but he is used to our African nonsense with Zimbabwe and Namibia in the past. For me, Finidi hasn't impressed with Enyimba, Amuneke hasn't done much beyond u17 which Manu Garba also won. Siasia would have been ok but FIFA don already axe am plu he failed once as coach of the SE. |

AndSunGorilla: This Saint Felix guy not too sure... His CV isn't that impressive... nothing serious won and like you said, a journeyman... Not to take anything away from Gambia, but at almost every major tournament, you have an underdog that try to cost an upset.. so their performance at the AFCON might not be entirely down to his tactics. More so they aren't sure of qualifying for the next one .. enough of all these low grade foreign coaches...they have shown that they don't have anything serious to offer.. In my opinion, the NFF should give Amuneke a chance.. he might not be the best among what we have, but he has a decent resume... He has managed teams outside the country too... Cant be worse than all these low grade foreign coaches |

For the return leg tomorrow, we should line up a tried and tested defence, no more of this Bassey gaffes that might prove costly. I would hope Omeruo and Semi Ajayi start as CBs this time, to the best of my knowledge Omeruo has never put in a wrong foot for Nigeria whenever he plays...just unfortunate he has been largely overshadowed by the Balogun and Ekong partnership. Ajayi on the other hand is reliable in that role. full backs should be Osayi Bright and Bruno Onyemaechi (Zaidu should be benched). Midfield should be Onyeka and Ndidi to lock down and protect that back 4, while Iwobi plays CLOSER to the attacking cause it was inconceivable seeing Iwobi playing deep in the first leg! All this is all speculative of course because I don't know what formation Peseiro will go with, but he has to go with a more cautious yet attacking 4231 formation...play Osimhen as a lone striker and ditch this 442 rubbish. Osimhen thrives more as a lone striker, on the wings we might have to go with Ahmed Musa for his pace and experience and Chukwueze...if Peseiro decides to go with his usual 442, then just play Moffi and Osimhen together and we will score goals. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
