Nigeria Has Lowest Minimum Wage Worldwide: Report by Omooba77: 12:40pm On Mar 28, 2023 |
Nigeria has the lowest minimum wage in the world, says a recent report by Picodi, a global e-commerce company. The report, which examined the minimum wages received by workers in 67 countries on six continents (Asia, Africa, North, and South America, Europe, and Asia) as of January 2023, revealed that Nigerian workers received the lowest minimum wages, with the lowest earners in the nation receiving a take-home pay of $68. India was the third-lowest paying country, with a monthly minimum wage of $95. Compared to the current prices of food items in the nation, the report detailed that basic food sufficient to meet the minimum nutrient requirements was worth 160.4 per cent of Nigeria’s minimum wage. This means that the lowest-paid workers’ wages increased more slowly than the cost of food, and the minimum wage is insufficient to get workers needed food items for healthy living. With a monthly minimum wage of $2,140, Luxembourg tops the list of nations with the highest minimum wage, followed by Australia ($2,020) and New Zealand ($1,866). Other countries with low minimum wages, besides Uzbekistan, Nigeria, and India, include Pakistan ($111), Kazakhstan ($131), Armenia ($138) the Philippines ($141), Ukraine ($146), Vietnam ($162), Indonesia ($173), Moldova ($180), Azerbaijan ($186) and Thailand ($195). https://gazettengr.com/nigeria-has-lowest-minimum-wage-worldwide-report/ 1 Like |

Nigeria has the lowest minimum wage world-wide while our politicians enjoy the highest financial benefits world-wide yet some devilish idiots don't see anything wrong with our political system. They are even fighting very hard to maintain the statusquo.. But a day of reckoning is coming when the evil you are nurturing will destroy you 3 Likes |

There's key pieces of information being left out. What's the productivity of the Nigerian worker? Your productivity determines your pay in any business. How long does the average worker earn minimum wage. If an employee makes minimum wage they probably have minimum skills. Why don't states increase their minimum wages above the federal minimum? The federal minimum wage in America is $7.25. 2 Likes 1 Share

Arda1000: Lol you're cleanly a dunce because you only absorbed half the point. If you're skilled you don't need to worry about minimum wage because your skill set demands a wage above that. Even if an employee doesnt have all the skills necessary they'll get on the job training. |

Re: Nigeria Has Lowest Minimum Wage Worldwide: Report by Blue3k(m): 11:10am On Mar 31, 2023 |
Omooba77: It doesn't matter if the country is up to a state in Nigeria. If you read your own article you'd see most places mentioned aren't. What determines if these wages are sustainable is workers productivity. Niger Republics minimum wage is slightly lower. $60 per month compared to Nigeria's $68. Omooba77: 1 Like
