The purpose of this write is to share my idea on how we can tackle the 4 major issue of the nigerian with one stone. The issues include insecurity, food security, bad economy and unemployment.

Agbado in nigeria, is the local name of popular food crop Maize and it was popularized by the president-elect of the federal republic of Nigeria. This has come under criticism here and there and I am here to shed more light on the hidden wealth that can be derived from the food crop as a graduate of Agriculture.

First off I will start off by listing things that can be derived from Agbado:

1.Direct consumption
2.Feed for chicken and other livestock.
3.Corn flakes
4.Pop corn
5.Golden Morn
6.Pap
7.Starch
8.Flour
9.Cereals
10.Masa/Egb`o and many more.

The first step we can take as a country is to employ 50 million youths
The second step is procure 3600 tractors and give 100 each to each states.
Then the government should ensure 75% to 85% of forest and bushes in Nigeria are cleared off, by doing this alone we have wiped out the hides out of Boko haram, Bandits, kidnappers and criminals in Nigeria and to some extent insecurity has been tackled.
Then we embark on mass plantation of “AGBADO” (or other crops)
While our “AGBADO” is growing, we start building companies for production of livestock feed, corn flakes, golden morn, starch, cereals etc.
While our “AGBADO” is ready and harvested we can give it out for free to old people to roast at the roadside and sell for a subsidized amount.
Then we distribute to various companies for their respective processing.
Then we give those feeds from feed mill freely to livestock farmers to support them.
Then the corn flakes, golden morn, pop corn made can be used to support the primary school feeding programs.
The rest can be exported and revenue generated.
And the list is endless.

I will love to get your feedback and opinion on this.

Note: This is not to solicit for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, just some thoughts from an hungry mind.
Not withstanding wishing our Agile president Elect a Beautiful Belated Birthday.

Agbado indeed can bring out millions of youths out of poverty. Tinubu is a genius, good post, good enlightenment for the ignorant bunch. Instead of breeding terrorists like Iswap, bokoharam and Iswap in our bushes, let us use it for maize production, maize can be a second oil, due to its many derivatives mentioned above, and we have good soil for maize, it grows easily, anywhere in Nigeria. Maize is a cash crop.

What a stoupid plan! To wipe out 85% of forests and bushes in Nigeria for the monocropping of maize. Normally, I wouldn't have replied on a normal day, but this level of stUupidity is bewildering. Britain has about 2% of it's population directly involved in agriculture but is almost self-sustaining in food production through mechanized agriculture. Perhaps only tropical crops demand export. So we should leave other crops and focus on maize farming so we can start distributing to old people to roast on the road. Sounds like a good plan!

The maize is being processed through different methods, one of them is, processed through industrial products like dextrose anhydrous, corn starch, corn oil, high fructose corn syrup, maltose, and sorbitol.

Which Almost self-sustaining?

Na so una go dey lie.

Firstly, there are no vegetables in UK (mostly imported) as we speak.

Secondly, in farming season, Europeans and others fly into UK to cultivate and harvest crops.

UK is a mature economy, they do not even need to farm and they would be better off than most.

Nigeria has teeming pulopulation of unemployed youths and farming is a good way to keep them busy and put some money in their pocket.

I do however agree with your opinion on single crop farming.

We need diversity yet farming is a veritable source of employment.

The problem is we are back to the industrialization inadequacy of Nigeria.
You have high cost of power
Land use problem
Multiple taxation
Cost of source materials
Maintenance of equipment problems
Exchange rate
Import/export regime flunctuations
Then cost of naira

The problems you mentioned are really not a problem, it's just federal government policy, if approved, it will make it work. Challenges are roads to cross to success. Stop thinking so lazily, Dubai created water out of desert. Most of the problems you highlighted can be handled, are you saying Nigerians are animals that can't use their head?

If the world is filled with pessimist we will still be in stone age.

So the part of tropical crops don't cover for vegetables right? Thank God you point out that people fly into the UK for cultivation and harvest. Agriculture has moved beyond traditional hoe and cutlass on open fields now to a highly scientific, value based activity. New research allows you to grow crops underwater now, so the world has moved beyond putting unemployed youths to go farm inside sun. Let think of knowledge based economy.

Do you know the cost implication of the fact that Nigeria does not own an industrial manufacturing outfit to serve a maize industrialized factories.

Oga check Lagos budget alone, take you bitterness elsewhere, people that will do the work abound, you and your lazy pessimistic type can keep moaning Tinubu has won. Maize needs processing, to process maize into flour can be done in small cottage industries across the nation, it doesn't take super technology to grind or process maize into flour, spreading the wealth and economic benefits, of employment and boosting local economies. Lagos state now has power generation farms, instead of you clown to challenge your governors to utilize allocations appropriately, you are here sounding dumb due to your hate for Tinubu. You zombidients will be left behind, don't worry we will employ you as factory workers. Ignoramus.

Even now power has improved in Nigeria, by the time Tinubu comes in, we will achieve at least 20hrs power everyday, that will drive industrialization.

Do you know how much is America's debt?
Do you know how much is Dangote industries debt?

Every nation has debt, it's all about servicing your debt, Lagos revenue to debt ratio looks very good, they are collecting loans to expand and the state's IGR is expanding.

Your last comment prove your hate for Lagos, Lagos is not broke, even the richest companies have debt portfolios. You little dumb kids won't understand. If I were you, I will pity your state, no IGR, no capacity development, this is the real dangers.

Economies grow when financial institution gives loans, take interest rates, make profits for depositors and investors, create employment etc. Giving loans is one of banks biggest business. Poor man with poor mind like you zombidients can't understand.

Concerning debt.
Why do you think the buharis administration is always borrowing money in dollars to fund is budget not supplement o.literarily funding it's budget(simple because of its debt service obligations and it's pressure of your dollar)
Why do you think Lagos state turned into a political agero administration whereby you have to be chased to pay all manner of multiple levies(simple because of it debt pressure on its head)at one point in time wether Lagos state lukeit or not(unless miracle happens the federal government will have to step in)
Now that aside.
Have you asked yourself why the rice programme of the federal government fell short
This with a huge cbn fund and backroll o
Now you mentioned financial institution...how much is the interest rate on loans as of now?

Ok, agreed. Wiping out 80% of our forest is probably not a good idea, by the way we don't need that much land to be self sufficient in maize production. But his idea is a good idea, most of the industrialized countries are massive producers of corn.
What is your own idea?
