Who owns the project? Is it private or FG owned ?

FG sanctioned, but will be a PPP with Imo state government, FG and private sector especially oil and gas investors

Owerri flyovers have been turned to a mini market. What's the plan of imo state government in either demolishing and rebuilding this project or support it with more pillars and put it to use. It is almost 8yrs since Okorocha built this but because of low quality of the project, it hasn't been put to use. What's the plan of Uzodimma for this project?

You are the one that's jobless and useless in life.

You have spent over 10yrs on nairaland monitoring chino and you think you are not the problem. You are so shameless.

Mad man like you should be ashamed of diverting attention over the important questions I asked.

It appears the needed infrastructures would be put in place this year by God grace. I say this because the sum of NGN40 billion was budgeted in the IMSG 2023 budget for Oguta Lake Wharf/Seaport, while NGN36.88 billion was budgeted for 20,000 barrels per day refinery. Don't forget that the Special Agro Processing Zone have proposed sites in Oguta. The completion of Sam Mbakwe Cargo Terminal got NGN7 billion.

I pray these impressive projects are fully completed quickly.

Govt60:

It's one of the items, Hope Uzodimma got approval from FG to establish along the Coastline of Oguta lake, but it won't work until the needed infrastructures is put in place like dredging to the Atlantic ocean, and wharf infrastructures to receive cargo ships and loading of crude oil, although dredging is ongoing now, Navy is providing security there through their Naval base, Niwa is trying to complete their Riverport there also.

It's still at infancy shaa, but the plans for the area is super massive

Besides Futo is going to take over the defunct Marine University in the same area also.

Nice.. these are the type of infrastructures our governors should be engaging in not building small roads and inviting people to commission with fanfare. All our water fronts needs to be developed. Agriculture, mining and oil gas should be focused on if we are serious in the east. Those things can make east the most developed region in WA. I hope Enugu state governor brings in his experience too to move Enugu forward.

Ipob needs to step back and let's develop the east. With development comes with what you can force Nigerians to negotiate with you and do your biddings. SW have Lagos and they can use it to force Nigeria government to do their bidding too.

Stop deceiving yourself. You haven't even been to Owerri in many years. Okada is taking over Owerri. Go now to worldbank Owerri and see what okada is doing there.

Sam Mbakwe cargo terminal infrastructures seems more like a done deal as the Airport manager this month has eluded that negotiations with airlines for the commencement of international cargo flight is in progress.

But I doubt the Oguta wharf infrastructures will be ready this year, I believe next year will be more realistic.

Anambra international airport is the best with the international facilities in igboland. Anambra international airport is the international gateway to the Eastern Nigeria, that's why the federal government has given it access to the broad band Internet gateway.

Unlike imo motorpark airport that's not different from a motorway somewhere. Even. GUO motorpark at Upper Iweka is more beautiful than imo motorpark airport. Imo is yet to have an airport anyways.

Grgton:
when is international flights going to Start? Is that not what it was built for?? Or is it just a local airport with the international " acronym? Just like the one in Enugu that Only receives Ethiopian airline

This is nonsense. No walkways, no drainage. Just a tiny apian way. Imo state is too backward. Imo state should demolish this nonsense and build a decent road.

Imo airport is indeed a motorpark. Imo is yer to have an airport because this is not even fit to be a motorpark not to talk of being airport

I checked the 2023 budget of Federal ministry of transport and discovered that NGN235 million was allocated to the construction of Oguta River Port. I pray the political and economic will to deliver these lofty projects don't fade away.
