Sibbb: Olodo. Position sizing is more important than leverage. 2% of your capital at 50x leverage = 100% of your capital at 1x leverage. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

XaToXi: Is like I’m missing the meaning of liquidation, somebody please explain to me how I can never be liquidated if I trade with 2% of my capital at 50x, even 5x can be liquidated. The 2% you use to trade, explain how it can never be liquidated, maybe I might start using the strategy. 1 Like |

Sibbb: Trading at 1x leverage is like trading spot, and there is no liquidation at 1x leverage or spot. You can however have losses if the trade doesn't go your way which is why some people put SL so they can cut losses early and enter another trade. With proper R:R (1:3 or greater) you can come out in overall profit if you win more trades than you lose because your wins are bigger than your losses. If you have $1000 and you buy btc with it on spot, it's the same as buying btc with it at 1x leverage on futures. In some rare cases, you might need to account for funding fees but you can hold that position at 1x for years without risk of liquidation, just like spot. If you now decide that you do not want to trade with all your $1000 on 1 coin, you can use 2% of it at 50x leverage ($20*50x = $1000) to get the same $1000 position size. The remaining $980 serves as extra margin/collateral and as long as your debt is not greater than your collateral, you will not be liquidated. However, if you decide to open more than 1 position with 2% of your capital each at 50x leverage, your effective leverage will no longer be 1x . If all the positions you open do not use more than 2% of your capital jointly at 50x, your effective leverage remains 1x. If you want to know the actual leverage you are trading on regardless of what you set, keep an eye on your risk % In the pictures below, you can see that I'm actually trading at less than 5.2x effective leverage, no matter what leverage I select for that pair (5x or 25x). My position size (debt/collateral ratio) determines my effective leverage (5.14-5.17x) not the leverage I choose (5x or 25x). 4 Likes 2 Shares

XaToXi:great wisdom there! I love this, I'll try it to see, but this can only be done through cross right? |
Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by XaToXi: 9:47am On Mar 30, 2023 |
trafficpools: Cross is easier. If you are using isolated margin, simply use the add margin button to add the remaining $980. |
Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by trafficpools: 9:59am On Mar 30, 2023 |
XaToXi:you're trying boss, though the profit may be minimal but this is a huge capital protection strategy while making passive income! Henceforth I'll be going with this on future bravo!!!!!!!!!!! |

Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by XaToXi: 10:22am On Mar 30, 2023 |
trafficpools: Profit will be the same. You are trading with $1000 position size in both/all cases. 2% at 50x = 20% at 5x = 50% at 2x = 100% at 1x |
Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by Geovanni412(m): 10:40am On Mar 30, 2023 |
Sibbb: With isolated margin, you can only lose the amount you are staking. Not a single cent more. Illustration: Acct balance : $ 1000 Risk (2%) : $ 20 Position : Buy Leverage(isolated) : 50x This means you lose if btc falls by 2 % Btc price : $ 28000 when you bought. Possible loss : you can only lose $20 if btc falls by 2% from the $ 28,000 entry price. In this example, that will be $27,440. ATR (BTC) on 1hr chart is 280. A good day trader and scalper will use anywhere from 1-2 ATR on H1 chart as s/l on his trades. Spread for trading BTC on binance is zero His stop loss is more than wide enough. He could use 75x leverage and still make that trade. Xatoxi. Any other thing you wan add? 2 Likes |

Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by XaToXi: 11:05am On Mar 30, 2023 |
Geovanni412: Your example is degen Let me just add : If he uses isolated margin with only $20 margin, his effective leverage is actually 50x and he will be liquidated at 2% deviation unless he makes his effective leverage 1x by using the +/- margin button to add the remaining $980 as collateral. His position size remains $1000 ($20*50x) but his collateral is now $1000 as well hence no risk of liquidation. In cross margin, it's automatic. |
Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by Geovanni412(m): 11:32am On Mar 30, 2023 |
XaToXi: I trade CFDs.. so to me the liquidation price is akin to having a fixed or mental stop loss. Removing the risk of liquidation in future . Won't it make the trader lose his discipline? |
Re: Crypto Currency Investors Thread by XaToXi: 12:08pm On Mar 30, 2023 |
Geovanni412: It's an individual choice really. Liquidation is the major reason a lot of people run away from futures. When they learn it can be properly managed or even removed, they are better able to trade without hbp or sleep with two eyes closed. They can then begin to increase leverage gradually. |

XaToXi: Got your explanation clearly, I thought you were using isolated margin. However it doesn’t erase the possibility of liquidation totally , it only helps to minimise it. Thanks for the explanation 3 Likes 1 Share |

XaToXi: Teaching is your profession bro.just apply for lecturer at any state of your residence.you are already employed.wisdom full your head. People don't know that $10 on 100x leverage is same as $100 on 10x.same position size and for them to risk everything on one trade.they can just risk little and have more capital to open position on other high probability setup. I collect woto woto this week but risking little save me. 1 Like 1 Share |
