Hello guys,

I am extremely frustrated and very sad and dont know what to do. I studied Aircraft Design in Ukraine and graduated around 2014 and came back to Nigeria 2015 to look for job and start my life. I applied to lots of airports and different firms but no Job.

I have just been surviving on doing some part term translation job (English to Russian/Ukrainian language) because i speak russian language fluently.

I was living in my fathers house in Lagos before i moved to Benin to look for work still nothing, I came back to Nigeria after so much pressure from my mum.

I got married last year and have a 1 year old son. I went to meet my rich uncle in Ilorin for job opportunity, He offered me a monthly job at his football academy and rented a house for me in Ilorin so I brought my wife and son to Ilorin but he pays me 20k monthly.

I am trying to look for another job possibly an Uber job for a hire purchase.

I have been extremely broke for few weeks now that feeding as even been a problem for us.

If anyone can assist me with anything either financially or with a job, I will appreciate a lot.

Why listen to your mum..u should av built stayed in Ukraine or entered Russia or Poland...or better still gone for masters in the us/Canada your parents must av been really great sending you to Ukraine...begin your plan to leave this shithole..you skills won't be appreciated here...how many planes are we designing here.

1. What programs are you skilled in the use of? Aren't there manufacturing companies, etc. That utilize same or similar software in the designing of their products that you could apply to? Or have you already tried those or what? Your story no too add up.

My name is Tayo and I am not a very active nairalander but I have been using is as a guest for more than 7 years now and I know that there are deep thinkers and wise people here also.

I will be brief with the intro and purpose of this thread and page.

1) This will be a thread of young political thinkers from Nigeria both at home and diaspora.

2) For people that are not in support of any current Nigerian political party majorly ( APC & PDP)

3) For people that are not tribalistic in any way, any form of tribalism will be prohibited strictly.

4) For people that are not religious fanatics, you can be a Christian, Muslim, Hindu or Traditional worshipper but not a fanatic.

5) For people that DEEPLY don't like the situation of things in the country and TRUELY wants Nigeria to be good and has at least a tiny bit of hope.

6) For people that promote Nationalism

7) And most importantly, For people that has REAL LOVE for her people.

There would be more to come and I have bigger vision for this thread. And can later create a different for the members. It is not compulsory to be much members but sensible ones from all aspect and jobs ( Doctors, Tailor, Mechanics, Engineers, Accountant, Bankers, Lawyers, Technicians, night workers, Drivers, Government workers etc all welcomed here) and the jobless too. We can help each other the best way that we can.
During crisis like this, we will help each other, share little money among ourselves give away even if it is data.

Guy, i dont beg to eat....I go to the field 1 time a week ( 4 times) monthly so the 20k pay is still justifiable, I also do part term translation.....just looking for additional hustle. I am not a tribalist, Ukraine made me to know that they will always refer all blacks as one

You can utilize your Russian skills by working as a translator or teacher online or offline. Also try to connect with airline technicians on Linkedin. Many jobs in this sector are usually not advertised on mainstream media but I know Nigerian graduates working in this industry in Nigeria. Another option is to sign up with the Nigerian airforce. You won't be a fighter pilot but can work in the maintenance department. Have you tried your hands at drones? FIxing, improving and flying drones. You can build on your technical background in this growing niche by bingeing on Youtube videos.

While these options may not give you big pays in the long run, you can use them to gather funds to get out of the country again. You can look for Masters scholarships in your field. Your travel history can give you some advantage but now that Ukraine is at war, that is quite dicey. Even Nigerian students displaced from Ukraine due to the war to other European countries have been given an ultimatum to find another course of study or return to their country.

Forget about those blaming you for getting married. You won't put your life on pause because your finances aren't looking up. A good wife brings good fortune and the ability to work together by pooling resources. I wonder if everyone becomes millionaires before they marry when a majority of 30 year olds in the country are still struggling financially. When they still have children to raise in their 70s they will be complaining.

You guys should leave this useless statement. In my family we are just 3 and all of us are doing well but far away from my parents who are 64 and 68 years old. They are very lonely because we have all left to look fter our families. Now we are trying to look for 2 young people between 9 to 12 years to keep them company and do housekeeping work.

You studies Aircraft Design in Ukraine and you want to use it to work in Nigeria... Do we design aircrafts in Nigeria? Not even aircraft maintenance o... Oga discard that certificate and look for another marketable skill.
