Is it advisable to travel with KLM? Will I be allowed to enter Canada through Amsterdam with a student's visa?

Hello Guys,

Just got to canada yesterday, landed at Toronto

Study permit granted, Glory be to God.

There was interview (questions asked) before study permit was granted

One needs to be confident and the officers need to see that confidence and one needs to answer questions correctly

Please know the things you filled in your application and be able to explain or defend them and have documents to back them.

My POE went thus
What is the name of your school?
What course are you going for?
What did u study before?
Do you have any family back home?
Why is your wife not here with you?
Show me some paper work

That's your study permit, have a good day

And that was all

This is not to scare anyone

The study permit of the guy before me (a Nigerian) got rejected

He was asked for pof, he didn't have statement of account, he was told to login on bank app, he did and the money there was not enough, he said there are people that will send him money from Nigeria, the officer said he showed that he had the money when applying, that how come he is saying something else now. He was asked about his dad's work, he said civil servant, the officer asked him what his dad does for the govt as a civil servant, he started stuttering. The officer later said 'if I refuse your study permit, is there any reason why you won't be able to go back to Nigeria?' He couldn't answer, he was later told to go n sit down. That's was all I heard and saw. Me just waka pass after collecting my own study permit.

Yeah, some times agents like wakanow have better deals than direct ticket purchase. Hey, can one with Canadian student visa and Nigerian passport go with Delta Airlines through Atlanta to Regina?

You must have a US transit visa.

Just to clarify about Lakehead university.

*Most universities who offer the accelerated BSN will require you pass the prerequisites as part of their application criteria. For these schools the program would normally run for 2 years.

*Lakehead university offers the prerequisites as part of your first year course, including some other core nursing courses. So, you do not need to write the prerequisites before applying. And the accelerated BSN program is 3years (or 2yrs 8months if you count it that way). I think this is fair because if you include the time you need to study for and write the prerequisites before applying to those schools that run the program for 2 years then it adds up.

*To get exemption for the prerequisites, you need to submit your course description from your previous studies. I submitted this and got exemption for statistics. I know someone who got exemption for psychology too. So, in first year I took psychology, anatomy and physiology plus other nursing courses.

* Also, in Lakehead university clinical placement starts from year one whether you're doing the 4yrs degree or accelerated degree. I don't know what is obtainable in other schools.

*The accelerated degree program in Lakehead university is quite intensive. Be ready to STUDY. A lot of students are able to work while going to school, you just have to know your own capabilities and decide how many hours you can sacrifice for work. Also, after your first year you are qualified to work as a PSW ($20.68/hr where I worked).
* About the 10 years timeline, I'm not sure what the conditions are in Lakehead university. But I finished my first degree over 10 years ago and was able to get admission.

I sent you a PM. Please, could you respond when you see it? Thanks

I stay in Windsor, ON. What are your questions?

There is a WhatsApp group , however, i am not sure if you'd be added as you haven't arrived Canada as yet.

It's the typical city life. I have not been to New Westminster.

Yes, students can work for up to 20 hours a week off-campus and more than 20hrs/week on campus.
*IRCC made an exception to some students who submitted their applications before a particular date though.

It sounds crazy when you compare to Naija, but it's a great deal in BC. I think some provinces could have it slightly cheaper tho.

It's a promo targeted at student newcomers in BC. The Telus/Koodo team will be at University Canada West (Granville) on Thursday April 6, 2023
- SIM (new/port, prepaid/postpaid, physical/e-sim)
- Cable TV (+ Streaming packages)
- Internet security
- home security etc

Please o people of God, I have a few things I need help with.

I have an expired Nigerian drivers license since 2018, will I face any troubles in getting my FRSC extract? I already have a new drivers license from another country and I'll also get extract from there but I want to do my FRSC extract as well.

Please does the FRSC portal work, I'm very afraid of government portals, they might just forget your application. Please what's the best latest way to get an FRSC extract? I've searched this thread but not still sure what current best way is

Elders in the house, please pardon my JJC question. I have all my documents for my work permit and about filling up my immigration forms.

After submitting my work permit application, do i apply for a visa application or the work permit application covers for Visa application.

I would have asked the company lawyer this, but translating her french to English is even confusing (Quebec)

Please anyone in Quebec, i will be landing by June

I got an interview with statistics canada as Data science fellow. Anyone knows anybody at this institution who I can consult for guidance? Or anyone with experience on what this interview could entail? I have a fair idea already, only I want some more info. Thanks.
I got this role, btw. I'll be happy to offer guidance strictly by email to others who may need one on stuff like this. This was a data science fellow role with statistics Canada and has elements of statistical modelling, machine learning, and data science.
