Even powering those generators have not been completely solved because of NNPC and scarcity of petroleum products, you now want to use that to power the metro rail line transport.

You now see the reasons probably why Ambode completely avoided it, to me I somehow just see it as a fraudulent white elephant project some people wanted to just cash out with and deceive their followers that they are working....

It is not a reasonable suggestion.
Trains run on special wheels and tracks and it would be very unsafe to push by hand. . There are special vehicles used to tow trains when they lose power.

A section of the newly commissioned Blue Rail Mass Transit project at Marina, Lagos State, was gutted by fire on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.

lol, independent power plant, Yes, powered by what? NEPA, Hydro, Solar or wind, Oga it is powered by diesel, you guys are so funny, when they say independent power plant, in simple terms it means generator, and most likely that was the diesel they were loading that caused fire there.

The best way they would have powered it was to use clean energy for an independent power plant, but of course the corrupt Lagos state govt in conjunction with Tinubu will not want that, same way they did all the street lights and made sure they were not solar powered, do you want to know why?


A diesel generator may provide backup for the office of train station I don't know but not to the tracks that is not right
Because some people will not be collecting contract for the supply of diesel, Imagine how much will be going into diesel purchase....

It is powered by gas integrating a UPS system as well as supply o electricity from the grid
There is very good gas supply to Lagos state for industrial use.
The biggest power plant in The country is in Lagos state powered by gas. Dangote fertiliser plant also taps in and that is what will power the IPP

Which ever way, they should have gone for a cheaper source like solar or wind, because the gas is still not cheap, the electricity from power grid is not stead and UPS will be still be charged by one of the former sources, because at the end it will affect the cost of the transportation.

Lagos has enough wind due to its closeness to the sea, I still don't see reasons why they have not invested seriously in wind energy, the wind is completely free and in abundant supply and Lagos has so many beaches they can harness for that, they don't even need to put them in the ocean.

You see, that's the problem with some people understanding management, setting up solar is not cheap now,, but long term it becomes cheaper than gas, Solar has lower maintenance than gas powered engines and you don't pay for the sun, but at the same time I know solar has its limitation in terms of maximum capacity at all times due to the sun, that was why I stressed more on wind energy if you read my previous write up, that would have been the best for Lagos, Lagos has all it takes to harness it, and the maintenance is very low....

My major target in the rail project is how to get the cheapest long term source of energy and get maximum output on efficiency and effectiveness while also making it very affordable for passengers.
