Oh great! So peradventure I get the PPR before I leave Nigeria, I can enter Canada with my TRV right?
aestake:

PRTD is for permanent residents who don't have or card when they traveled. So they apply for that in order to be allowed reentry to Canada. Not for someone who is waiting or getting PPR outside Canada.

Hello everyone
Please I need response from there anyone that has applied for PR through work permit. I have someone that wants to apply for provincial nomination to support his PR application, he has been working in Canada for the past 9 months and he needs to change his present job to another. But he is bothered if change of employment can affect his PR application. Does he have to stay with his present employer till he gets the nomination or can he change employment? He's employment is an open work not closed.
Thanks

Hello everyone,

For work experience, I have:

1. Feb 2015 to June 2015: (no offer letter and was paid in cash, the organization still exists)- will a salary certificate alone from my ex-employer suffice? Or do I still need to include a reference letter?

2. July 2015 to May 2016: (no offer letter but I have email correspondence to confirm my date of appointment and remuneration, I was paid with cash and cheque sometimes and the organization has now folded up)- will a salary certificate alone from ex-employer suffice? Or do I still need to include a reference letter?

3. June 2016 to October 2017: (I have an offer letter that shows my annual gross income. I have bank statements and old pay slips. The company has folder up. But the parent group organization that can write me a letter still exists. The parent group organization name was mentioned in my offer letter and this is my primary NOC)- will I need a reference letter? A salary certificate and/or old pays slips or bank statement showing monthly salary payment? will I also need to include my offer letter?

4. November 2017 to July 2018: (I have an offer letter, and the organization still exists) do I need a reference letter? Do I need to include my offer letter? Do I need to include a salary certificate or old payslip or bank statement showing monthly payment?

I don't want to include irrelevant documents and confuse the immigration officer(s). I also don't want to give room for questions especially because two of those organizations have folded up. If they google those organizations, they won't find them but thankfully I have some of the works I did uploaded on my LinkedIn page from those years.

Thank you so much for your help.

I appreciate.

does salary certificate show your duties? Work hours? Date of resumption? Etc . If you Submit salary certificate alone your application will be thrown out o. Reference letter is required . Check page 1. The alternatives are stated there.

Realities differ and humans all respond to their realities. The whatsapp + telegram groups offer more information to ITA holders compared to this channel. And even after securing permanent residence document those whatsapp + teelgram groups become less attractive because people tend to focus more on how to make the transition from Nigeria to Canada. When you arrive and get settle in Canada you may also begin to become anti-immigration despite being an immigrant yourself because you begin to face a different set of realities.

Notwithstanding I have remained on this channel despite securing ITA in 2020 and moving to Canada about a year later. It was very informative and I try to add one or two lines here and there based on the little I know about express entry. I even look up draws every wednesday like someone awaiting ITA lol .

Please can you throw more light on the above message...I would love to know more .Tx

Canada's population is growing mostly due to immigration but the infrastructure (housing, schools, hospitals, doctors, cars ....) are not catching up with the pace of population growth. The housing market is the most obvious issue most Canadian citizens and residents face shortly after they land. Inability to find affordable housing to rent. For recent immigrants trying to buy a house, the prices are out of the roof due to high demand.

I'll like to reflect on my personal experience as regards housing in Toronto area. I got two job offers in my field before landing in Canada. I opted to travel to USA for some weeks before going to Canada to resume at the workplace. While in USA I reached out to a long friend of mine who had been in Canada for over ten years to tell him I'll be coming to start a job and will like to stay at his place while house hunting (he normally stays at my place when he visits Nigeria). The response I got was a bit far from what I expected. It was not a "yes" or "no" rather he asked that we talk about it later as he was feeling sleepy. He called me later to tell me his house was full and suggested that I stay at an Air BnB. I had no problem with that but I told him I don't want to be under pressure to rent a house I ordinarily won't want to rent and that is why I want a place to keep my two suitcases while house hunting. He opted to recommend that I ask someone else who I wasn't too close to. Out of need I reached out to that person who use to be my neighbor back in the days. Surprisingly the guy came through for me and even picked me up at the airport. I assured him that I'd spend only two weeks in his house before getting my place. After two weeks I moved to an Air BnB.

Within those two weeks I was told by all the agents I met that I'll need a credit report, a reference letter from a previous landlord, three months paystub from my job and an ID to rent a house. They were not willing to find me houses till I met this requirement thus the Air BnB was a surer option for me. My friend who had earlier claimed his house was full offered to now take me in if I could pay him $1,200 monthly but I declined the offer because I wanted to settle in as quickly as possible and I felt staying with him for long will equate to going against my early request.

I moved to an air bnb and got my first credit report after 6 weeks. However, the score was low and I was told I needed a score of at least 700. I was viewing apartments every couple of days. For each apartment I viewed, I met up to 5 and in some case 12 other prospective renters viewing the place. If the rental price is $2,300 per month the agent will advice me to offer $2550 to get ahead of competition. I got turned down for almost 4 months and hence remained at an air bnb while searching. Buyers also face a similar fate as they outbid one another to buy a house. Frustrated renters and buyers in the market tend to become anti-immigration after encountering things like. Two Nigerians I know who moved to Canada via express entry (one in 2016 and another in 2018) told me they will vote the conservative party in the next elections as they want Canada to close its borders and get its act rights lol.

Second issue people face is ability to find a family doctor and wait times at the hospitals. There are not enough doctors in the country. I have not used the public hospital yet but rather used a private clinic twice. My employer offers a health insurance package where the employer covers 80% and the employee covers 20%. This is what I've used and even that 20% was a lot as my tooth extraction cost about $2,400 in a private clinic and I had to pay 20% of the amount.

Some others have had not so good encounters with immigrants from Somalia and the Caribbean which also makes them criticize the whole immigration thing. At the end of it all nothing beats have your own country give you all that you desire

Nice analysis esp the fixing our home country and enjoying what is in it. Rather we help put deadwoods into positions and run away to become 'global citizens'. Where is the sense!? Only politicians fix countries, good and accountable ones not based on tribe or religion. Gay people dey here and system runs well. Settling here is best for you and your immediate family only, once you wanna do here act there, you may run into depression and stuff.

Hello Everyone,
I need advice please.
I’m currently doing my pgd in Canada and will be done by December and I want to enter the poll for FSW immediately with my spouse who is in Nigeria.
With he’s education my score is 478.
Please is there a degree certification that’s available for engineering that he can take to boast our score?
Also for POF do I need to show a bank statement even after having a fixed deposit certificate?
I’d also appreciate if I can have a custom list of document that I should have on ground as well as how to improve our score.

Please I need this information. Thank you.

read page 1 some of the answers are there plus links. The available certifications for second degree are on page 1 none is specifically for engineers. For proof of funds , some have gotten ppr with the fixed deposit certificate only. Some were asked to provide bank statements or source of funds.

Two or more certificates as a secondary applicant doesn’t make a difference. Depending on the hope for a draw today, a CRS score of 478 is not bad. So if his Bsc alone gives you 478, you are good.

Your reference letter and fixed deposit certificate from the FI will suffice however, prepare for anything as you may be asked for additional document request.

Your husband should consider writing IELTS (my Indian friends will say he should “give” IELTS 😂) if he is yet to take because if he doesn’t write it now, he will still write it at the point of applying for citizenship.

Another way to boost your score is via your Canadian education but December is too far. So work with what you have on ground now.

You will be forgiven when you get on ground and face the realities! If you read his post very well, the issue is not because immigrants are anti-immigrants but when immigrants and all other members of the society see the challenges they face in “accessing” basic things, they wonder on the need for more. It is a natural instinct to survive.

If you get on a rescue boat, and the captain continues to allow more people, you may want to ask at what point he will stop allowing more people because you are dealing with finite resources…

Hi guys..
I received ita last week, an di have some questions.

For employment reference, i have an experience from april 2018 to feb 2020

But my employer changed name around June 2019. 2019. However when i was filling the work experience form in ircc, i just put the most recent name of the company as company name.

My offer letter was on the old name.(it had my duties and roles)
Some of my payslips were from the new name.

My reference letter from the company Has their new name and everything i need, but they didn't put my duties

What can i do in this instance? Do i write a letter to explain the company's name change?

I intend to attach every bit of documentation from this company.

My company also gave me a reference letter that doesn’t contain a list of my duties. I still used it but got one of my senior work colleagues to write a supporting letter just listing out the duties of someone in the position I occupied. His supporting letter was not on a letterhead so I stapled his complimentary card on it and merged the two letters.

My advice is this: use your work reference letter as the main document then write an LOE to explain that your organization’s standard practice is to exclude work responsibilities from reference letters and so you have attached your original offer letter which states your responsibilities and initial remuneration. You should also explain the change of name in the same LOE and the supporting document for that could be a screenshot (with links on the LOE) from your company’s website. I’m assuming the company’s “About us” page will contain a statement on the change of name. In short, any official statement by your company on their change of name would serve as evidence. In summary, reference letter plus LOE plus original offer letter plus evidence of name change plus any payslips. All these should be merged into a single document.

Those people are simply ignorant, without more immigrants the country will collapse. Their opinion doesn’t matter in reality as IRCC will keep increasing the numbers. Same way some citizens will say they are coming to take our jobs. Same job you don’t apply for Any job that has small stress they are quick to scream mental health bla bla bla. Don't let anyone discourage you o.
