gatecrash123: CAF didn't even do anything to punish Morocco for it... And also Algeria.. that shows just how much influence they have in CAF..... Morocco have the hosting right for the u-23 AFCON and 2024 WAFCON already |

typicalgamer: You talk as if the Olympics is a small tournament... Helping the u-23 during the qualifiers doesn't mean he will permanently be an u-23 player... Anyway, it's Salisu I blame for this nonsense.. he turned the u-23 call up to business, thereby making the team look like it's inconsequential 1 Like |

ChrisKels:It is a pity Nigeria football is in disarray. If not U23 invitation would be valued I don’t blame anybody but Salisu Yusuf and NFF.Samson Siasia does not joke with youth team especially under 23....I just don’t know why Finidi or Amuneke cannot start with under 23. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Danielnino00:I don’t mind having Gift in eagles but he is not bigger than under 23,not at all....Fact tactically Bosso and Salisu are outdated in modern day football. It is a pity our Finidis,Amunekes who did it in Europe as a player and went for good grade coaching courses are finding it difficult to be accepted at home with NFF preferring mediocre. 2 Likes |

I remembered when Morocco pulled out from hosting the afcon in 2015 , caf banned them from two afcon and fined them about a million dollar and asked them to pay about €8 million as compensation for withdrawing. gatecrash123:Pulling out of hosting the 2015 AFCON is quite understandable given the health implications of Ebola...the ban was later rescinded I think...but CAF took action back then, which was the right thing to do.. The current CAF is a complete joke.. Morocco had the alternative of using another country to enter Algeria without fuss but felt too big to .. let's not forget the issue of using lasers to intimidate opposition players in North Africa that CAF are yet to put a ban on .. |

Kog45: Salisu even coached Kano Pillars to relegation...Add to his corruption charges,he shouldn't have been retained as coach...I read something in the news a few days ago where he boldly reminded people that he was still part of the super eagles coaching staff. As for Bosso, I wonder what made Pinnick bring him back to the national team... We keep recycling all these outdated coaches and it's part of whats hurting our football 2 Likes 1 Share |

gatecrash123: Well the Algerian airspace is forbidden to all Moroccan military and civilian planes and french military planes since september 2021 , Moroccan team could had a direct flight from Morocco to Constantine with any other airlines plane , like all moroccan league teams thats plays CAF Champions League in algeria do , but Morocco wanted to earn political points from this CHAN , they sent their flight plan request 24 hours before the tournament and demanded a plane from the Moroccan royal company . If the CAN will take place in Morocco, the Algerian national team will come with a private plane, or will use a flight from the Tunisian company or any plane stopping over in Algiers 1 Like |

Blueelf: Statistics are at best indicative particularly when taking in context. A quality Midfielder will and can make a defence splitting pass after dribbling past two players and deceptively causing defenders to change position. That pass gives the forward player an academic tap in for a goal. The 95% of the oustanding exceptional quality work was done by the midfielder, that led the the goal. However, statistics will record it as a pass. It doesn't tell us the quality and or ingenuity behind the pass. When you take the quality of the league into context we even have more questions. Making a good defence splitting of pass is a lot more difficult in the EPL and the La Liga for instance. However, that degree of difficulty is not captured by statistics. In this regards you could make 100 passes that are accurate because you are not playing against a high pressing team and or the players contending with you are lack intensity, anticipation and quality. The quality of the passes are not captured by statistics. You could even lob the ball long to an Onuachu type players surrounded by short defender's lacking physicality. That means 100% accuracy that's not because it's a quality pass but rather in the context of poor quality defence. Thats not captured by statistics. A defender can spend the whole match defending because they are a poor team. Those defenders will have high statistics for blocks, tackles, headed clearances. It doesn't mean oustanding quality defenders or team work. But the opposite, that deduction is not captured by statistics. Now let's see the CONTEXT of the Segundo division with a balanced ⚖️ quasi score card appraisal. It's important that some understanding of the quality of the league is known. Before assumptions are made . The first 6 teams of the Segundo have some quality but not oustanding IMO. The rest are poor quality, let me explain. Villarreal B is the youth team of Villa Real or essentially the U21 team they are number 9 in the Segunda division. They Villarreal B would be a direct comparison to any EPL U21 Academy side. It's important to not me that the age requirement has strict adherence. There will be players of 15 sometimes, most will be teenagers and a few senior players over 21 recovering from injury and or demoted. Villarreal B have played Ponferradina twice one draw and lost 2-1 after loosing a player to red card. Villa Real B played Wolves last year summer and beat them 2-1. Liverpool U21 played then and beat them 5-0. Wolves U21 sit at the bottom of the EPL league 2. I have said it repeatedly that absolutely no EPL league 2 team will beat a Championship team NO WAY NO HOW. That particular deduction is proven past and present. I went on to say that no EPL league 2 team will beat a league one team. At the time Liverpool were to play Accrington in league one, I said here before the game Liverpool will never win. I have watched Liverpool FC U21 as well as several other Academy team up close and personal. I also do this in Europe as well. So I don't rely on statistics but first hand appraisal, talking with coaches and even club football analysts. The vast majority of players in this league will not get into many EPL U21 Academy teams. That is the context of thr larger% of the Segundo division. It's not HATE to say that Nwakali is poor quality, the two academies he went to Arsenal and Porto rejected him , poor quality not good enough. So even if he is doing great in his relegation and bankruptcy facing team. It's not a sign of quality but MEDIOCRITY. He is not SE quality there are too many players doing way better. Without prejudice this Ponferradina team will struggle in the English National League 5th tier. A sign of quality is sometimes the amount of transfer interest a player generates, Nwakali only generates interest here nowhere else . 1 Like

2023 Generation adidas Cup Is a good cup to see emerging potential top Quality players. There is a U15 and U17 groupings , from a plethora of teams from Europe and the Americas. I think next year I will probably go to that tournament. Just watched the U14 premier League international tournament in Nottingham. Daniel will be happy Liverpool FC won it beating Fulham. Interesting in 2016 Saka was one of the oustanding players at that tournament, look at him today 1 Like

The CAF African Schools Football Championship is currently on and there are reps from South Africa, CIV, Algeria, DR Congo, Malawi, Uganda etc... But no Nigeria!! I repeat no Nigeria!!! Similar story with the Girls' category. And I understand under Pinnick, this was mentioned but he and his board obviously made no plans for it. Same old Nigeria. 4 Likes

Please avoid me with any of the pre-written pinnick defence notes you have already. I don't have time for that. CAF is overseeing the CAF African Schools Football Championship and work hand in hands with the various Football associations aligned with where the reps come from. Are you aware Pinnick and the NFF were approached for this CAF Schools competition by CAF but they ignored it? They didn't acknowledge it. So please and please spare me your "pro pinnick" stance. I am not anti-anyone. I just don't stand for incompetence and dodgy nonsense. do4luv14: 5 Likes |

Meanwhile on Gift Orban and the U23 brouhaha.... Know this and know peace... NFF Slacked. Orban's invite came as an afterthought by Salisu his crew and the NFF. They clearly didn't have him in their original plans from the beginning so it is on their head not anyone else's. This is from sources close to Gent's Orban. Gent obviously did not want to release him as it was a very late invite. Period. “The letter of invitation for Orban from the Nigeria Football Federation for the Nigeria U23 qualifiers series came very late, late at a time when nothing could be done about it” “It is the dream of every player to dorn the National team colours, the claims making rounds in the media that he intentionally did not want to show up for the U23 is disheartening and should be disregarded because it’s not true” 5 Likes 2 Shares |

TheSuperNerd:Nigeria has lost it and I don’t know how we can revive things...I just don’t know In the 80s ordinary secondary schools do represent Nigeria in international tournaments.I remembered C&S college of Ilorin represented Nigeria in some tourneys in Finland and I remember Olopade Adenekan who later became international star was part of C&S boys. The same C&S represented Nigeria in base ball tournament in Canada. My secondary school went to Denmark for Dana Cup and this cut across Nigeria secondary schools like St Finbarrs of Lagos,Methodist schools and many more but big question what is the issue with Sport ministry or NFF on something like this...Doctor your report on Remo boys was actual reminiscent of my secondary school days. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe:I wanted to brought this to your notice cuz you are very close to some of our ex internationals from Rivers and Bayelsa sides of Nigeria....the last time I heard of him was him turning to fisherman Emma Ebiede belonged to the class of Wilson Oruma and James Obiorah that super talented Austin Okocha denied them the opportunity to really make name for themselves in eagles. Ebiede must have been duped or spend recklessly cos he had fairly career in Europe with Henreveen. This must have led to depression and frustration to pure gin in take I wish him soonest recovery 2 Likes |

AndSunGorilla: ChrisKels: Kog45: Ihenzy: Orban was greatly needed during the last window. because anyone who watched the S.E since last year AFCON defeat to Tunisia and World Cup qualifier draw against Ghana knows that the S.E does not score against good teams and that means the S.E needs goalscorers like Orban, Boniface e.t.c and midfielders like Nwakali, Onyedika, Yusuf e.t.c and wingers like Ejuke to score goals. Orban will reduce and protect Osimhen or Moffi chances of getting injured because he can bench either of them or be subbed on at 60mins for any of them don't forget Cancelo was benched by an 18 years old player because Pep wanted to do so. Osimhen or Moffi can be benched if the coach ( or NFF ) wants to bench either them in order to test other goalscoring strikers and protect Osimhen or Moffi from injury. Besides Osimhen has not been scoring against good national teams and I sometimes feel as if his lack of goals against strong national teams is sabotaging the S.E. The S.E is not England that has Ivan Toney but will let Harry Kane play the whole match due to bias and won't even test if both Ivan Toney and Kane can start the match together. |
