To be fair, it is possible the hard drive has no issues. If you are not hearing a clicking sound from the drive, then it is probably working.

However if you have a dodgy or old enclosure or cable or misbehaving port on your system, you will have issues with reading the drive.

I have several usb 3 cables. Sometimes one will not work, another will work.

I had said earlier I learnt hard lessons with cases. Now I have an scsi connector for reading drives and ugreen cases for general use with external drives. If you have another case you can try and see what happens.

1.he claim he remove the hdd from his console....why didn't he format it to windows to READ
2.why has he refuse to collect it bak nd use a system he knows dat function well

it takes less than 1 minute to format a hard drive.

so assuming no problems with the ports or cables two possibilities

Ngbuild ws extremely lazy and could not be bothered to spend 1 minute formatting the drive
NGbuild attempted formatting the drive and the format failed repeatedly, so he just decided to push the drive off to an unsuspecting buyer

the irony is that the drive can probably still be formatted
using the diskpart utility in windows 10

when i repurpose a system drive it usually has partitions that cannot be deleted
diskpart will wipe all partitions on the drive

this may be the solution to the issue.

formatting drives from other systems is not always starighforward

the onus is on you to recover the drive from him - and format it successfully. then you can both decide if to continue the transaction

it is unprofessional and bad business practice to sell devices in a state where tehy are not ready for use

that is selling untested as tested and confam.
