Chimaroke Nnamani, a senator for Enugu East in the National Assembly, has accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), of using his campaigns to further ethnic and religious prejudice in the 2023 election.

Peter Obi, according to Senator Nnamani, who ran for and lost the Senate seat to Kelvin Chukwu of the Labour Party, “deflowered the virgin innocence of political patriotism and nationalism in Nigeria.”

In a statement on Sunday, he claimed that while quietly telling the populace otherwise, Obi ran a religiously motivated campaign.
But, Senator Nnamani argued that Nigeria might not be the same again after what the Labour Party’s presidential candidate performed during the campaigning for the 2023 elections.
“Peter Obi deflowered the virgin innocence of political patriotism and nationalism,” the speaker declared.

Akelicious report that, Nnamani claimed that Peter Obi brought into play during his 2023 presidential campaigns the rift he allegedly created while serving as the governor of Anambra State.

The former governor of Enugu State also accused Obi in his statement of using religious warfare under the guise of Labour Party politics before nationalising and embracing it for all Christian dominance among Nigerians at home and abroad.

“What was in whispers and hush tones, Peter proclaimed loud in decibels in Cathedrals and Holy Sepulchres,” the Enugu East Senator lamented.

“The Roman Catholic-dominated politics that Peter learned and imposed on the people of Anambra when he was governor served as a prologue to his nationwide efforts.

Peter “spread ecumenically across the Religious landscape the Family Trinity of the Roman Catholics of Mary, Joseph, and Jesus as the Labour Party’s symbol of Father, Mother, and Child.”

The legislator charged that the Labour Party’s nominee had used his campaigning to pit some parts of the nation against one another by playing the racial and religious cards.

Nnamani claimed that Peter tried to convert people by saying, “Do not vote for me because I am a Christian,” but that “the code was clear and its subliminal assimilation final.”

“For his ethnic war, he spread across Igbo-domiciled places in Nigeria, particularly markets and commercial centres,” he continued.

He chose Christian-minority communities in Northern and Central Nigeria for his campaigns. His dual opiate of religious intolerance and tribalism has formed a national landing to never leave again.
