Good morning, please I need on booking an appointment. I have input my receipt number and it has been giving me this.

Please how many hours does it take to be approved.

You'll get an email within 48 hours to book your appointment.

My own email came in after 12 hours of inputting the payment receipt number to book an appointment.

I submitted on the 17th of march. Me, my wife and 2 kids. I checked this morning and no changes. Just that same application received. case was created on 20th march and was last updated on the same 20th of march. I submitted my document at DHL-Dropoff point in Abuja.

Eriokanmi:
You should get a feedback today with a changed status. Mine, just as those who got approved yesterday took 3 straight weeks to process. Just be positive. Ordinarily, IW application shouldn't encounter any issues. Even if your mission for visiting US is over at the time of submission, your application would still be approved, based on my experience, provided everything is right with your application.

If you've not overstayed in any of your previous visits and you didn't submit a conflicting piece of information in your DS160 application, there shouldn't be any issues as well. This often happens to those who engaged agents to fill out their DS160 on their behalf ( i strongly kick against this). Don't always assume your agents know you and your family more than you do. It took me time to complete my DS160 due to my busy schedules, Any applicant in my shoes could adopt same method. Fill-in a little, save your inputs and log out, until you are finally done. Always DIY. NL is a very rich source of info for your visa applications. This thread has helped me a lot and for many years as a silent reader before I finally joined NL. You guys are amazing. Justwise, I hail oo grin

What I've also noticed is, couples' applications do encounter some unexplainable delays. Husbands would have their application approved much earlier than their wives'. Some were asked to do a follow up appointment for kids and they're still waiting . This baffles me.

I don’t know if there is a general issue for people who did IW drop off in Abuja. Lagos VO seem to be faster.
I submitted since 9th March, and no progress has been made.
I’m honestly not meant to be this worried but I need to submit my passport for Canada stamping and was given 30 days.
The unfortunate thing is that I can’t recall my passport from them. I’m honestly just so worried.

They said 60 days from the day of submission. you still have up to 9th of May to wait. The Canadian visa date will end when? maybe you should write an email to them or something.

Is cool. congrats. At least your own was updating to show you that something is being done. Mine is just like that with no movement. Though a friend that submitted in that same Abuja said it took one month for this own to be completed

Pls does anyone one know how I can update my wife and kid DS160 info on the appointment profile. We applied almost a year ago and our interview is coming up next week. Pls someone respond.
If you're doing this make sure you do it 72 hours before the interview.
When my parent renewed I applied in Feb and the interview was in November I didn't update the form(a personal decision and just sheer laziness on my part) but it did not affect anything, she got her visa.

Madam, I've been following your contributions and concerns regarding this delayed follow up appointment booking on this thread. This happens to applicants with families (with children) mostly. This hasn't happened before from experience. I think it's a general issue as I'd like to put it.

Here's my advice...the visa is now valid for 5 good years which is good news! The longest I've seen is a Canadian visa with 4 years validity, German Schengen visa too, though rare, except for business and frequent travellers. The lady who interviewed me that year said they don't want to be seeing my face all the time. I thought it was a joke. The visa validity ended with that of my passport.

Just relax, you may suspend your travel engagements, for now as you have 5 good years to enjoy your visa. One cannot hurry these people as they like doing their stuffs at their convenience. Not even a million email reminders would make them shift grounds especially if its a directive which came from their home office and they cannot influence at the embassy level. One thing is certain, they'd eventually get back to you.

I had encountered administrative processing on my visa application before. It looked strange to me. My visa was delayed for almost 2 months. I couldn't travel again. I had to use it the following year. It was a program that had something to do with meeting with Obama, which i had been longing for cos I was the only invitee from Nigeria, to describe how important the program was. This didn't even move them at the embassy. Just relax and don't put your mind there anymore but keep checking your mail regularly. This advice also goes to others who may be facing same challenge.

Thanks my dear. But u know one has to keep asking so the day the dates are released we can know. It is truly frustrating but there is nothing else to do but wait. I don’t even bother mailing or calling them again. I haven’t bought tickets cos of this and the price has gone up. Anyway God Dey.

Good day everyone,
Please is 400k a reasonable amount of salary to use when applying for your visa renewal?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Ekeadatrust: 2:02pm On Apr 07, 2023
It depends on the country visa you want to renew. if its for USA visa, you dont need any money in your account or any bank statment. What they will only collect from you is that DS160 confirmation page and your passpoort.

Yes it's for US visa renewal. In the DS160 form there's a place they ask for your occupation and salary I just want to know if 400k is a reasonable amount to put.
This is my third time applying for US visa. I've never been denial a US visa. The first and 2nd time I applied was in Canada and I was approved both times.

please how do I go about the expedited visa?

You mean I can reapply immediately? even after we have been turned away the first time just yesterday the 4th of April, 2023. I made an expedited appointment which was approved and that was why we got an earlier date. If I reapply, I will also make an expedited appointment and would my status have changed yet to be able to get a new date? Thanks 😊

that's me too, but in the ustraveldocs portal (where we booked the appointment) the 'your passport is with the US Consulate' message has changed to 'delivery information' which is what happened to a family member a few days (like 3-4) before they received theirs. i didn't know about the visa tracking site, so I didn't check that one then. i should note that i'm in lagos, so the timings could be a bit different for you, but i'm pretty sure we should have a passport hopefully with a visa in it by this time next week.
