Onepiece007: You are part of the problem. The reason why people that need it can't see it to buy. Anybody that buys from a 3rd party, if you run into any problems you go regret your decision. Even for those that bought from Starlink direct, support is a problem. It's now you that went to buy bend down select Starlink. Okay sha. 4 Likes |

ibawon: Yeah, it be like that. Mine sef is like that. They are charging me on 11th. I have to remember to unlock my card sef so they can charge it. I no dey leave dollar card open abeg. Anyways, Starlink service starts counting from the day you place the order. So the first month subscription is part of the purchase money or let's say it's free. But it starts counting from the day you order I believe so if it takes one month to reach you. Pele akanbi. The card on my friend's Starlink got missing so he blocked it and got a new card from his bank. Till now he has been unable to update the card on his account and he has tried many cards. The problem is from Adyen, Starlink's payment processor. He has tried Grey, Payday, Gotok, Standard Chartered, GTB, my credit card didn't work, even the card currently on my Starlink account didn't work. It's been 2 months now, he is owing Starlink 2 months payment but the thing is still working. However the bill is piling up, I'm sure it will stop at some point and never work again till the balance is settled. 1 Like 1 Share |

My own phone (Samsung Note 10 Plus) has been seeing the 5Ghz since day 1 but suddenly stopped yesterday. Done everything, still can't see it. Not sure why or how to fix |

After buying the starlink, how do I activate it? It says device already assigned Does that mean I don't need to subscribe for the month? |

toluxa1: Did you untick 'Split 2.4/5GHz Networks' in settings? If you did, that's why. If you didn't then do. The phone will latch on to the 5GHz frequency when you are close to the router. And you can confirm under 'Network' in the Starlink app. Cheers. |

Jaytee123jay: Jaytee123jay: 4pm asking about lack of Availability. 5pm already bought Starlink. At least that's what it seems like, anyways if you bought from Naija seller. Go and hold their sokoto oh! Lol |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by toluxa1(m): 8:54pm On Apr 05, 2023 |
Stanley08: I didn't untick it o, my wife's phone is still connected to it but my phone and laptop just stopped seeing it even if I'm touching the inverter with the phone. It was the phone that first stopped seeing it yesterday. Today the laptop stopped too, both devices definitely support 5Ghz. It's a misery to me. I'm thinking of factoring resetting the starlink. |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 5:16am On Apr 06, 2023 |
toluxa1: My advice is that you should just leave it alone, I'm guessing you are using iPhone and MacBook? As it happened to me, my MacBook Pro M1 Max & iPhone 14 Pro Max stopped seeing the 5GHz frequency. While my Pixel 6 & 7 with my old iPhone X had no problem latching on. If you must do something, I advice that you reboot both the Starlink and the Router, that's all. Don't factory reset anything. Or maybe split it and unsplit it a couple of times. However I don't think all these are necessary. I also found out that on iPhones it can take up to 30s to find 5GHz wifi networks so also maybe try staying on that wifi scanning screen a while. Also make sure your phone and computer are updated to their latest firmware versions. I don't have to worry about all these anymore as my Deco X55 Network handles all of this now. I can force any supported device to latch on to the 5GHz network (see photo below). Even though it's not even necessary as there's a deco node in every room where these devices spend most of their time lol. And i have zero complaints are the photos below show.

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 5:11pm On Apr 06, 2023 |
toluxa1: It happens, I'm not sure why. My guess is router firmware updates maybe. Also, stop calling router, Inverter Check Starlink app. Settings > Advanced. How long has your router been on for? Was that the last time you restarted it? I'm talking about "Uptime". |

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 9:08pm On Apr 06, 2023 |
seunpayne: That's a router. No? 1 router. Anyways maybe good enough if you need coverage on only one floor. |
Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by seunpayne(m): 11:16pm On Apr 06, 2023 |
Stanley08: Yeah just one floor. Used to have dead spots in the bathroom inside the master bedroom. The Echo dot there disconnects a lot. Now there is wifi everywhere and all the smart devices are connected |

I want to ask, if I use starlink ethernet adapter and do bypass connecting to another router for other devices, will starlink Router be serving its function as a router or completely off while transferring its router function to the third party router I already asked Stanley08 this question, but he yabbed me My starlink Router is currently placed in my room upstairs with fantastic speed while we spend most of the time in the living room downstairs watching other Internet devices too..Speed is not as fantastic as it should be I intend to use tp Link router downstairs when my starlink ethernet adapter is shipped Will the Starlink adapter in the room still serve its purpose of providing wifi service on the room or will it transfer all it's wifi service to this 3rd party router

Re: Starlink Unboxing & Speedtest In Nigeria by Stanley08(m): 10:03am On Apr 07, 2023 |
georgee: Lol no lie for my head, I no yab anybody. Both devices will share wifi. 2 access points with different wifi ranges. I would imagine. For best speeds, you need to be closer to the access point especially if it's range isn't great. So basically. Running a long cable downstairs and then connecting the second router downstairs. I'll always advice that you setup your Starlink router where you spend the most time or at least in a central location, but yh I also understand that this isn't always possible. |
