iwanvisityankee:Unless you asked for it, they won't update you. They'll just send the result directly to IRCC, what you should be looking out for is "Medicals passed" on your application. For me, IRCC didn't even send me mail when my Medicals passed, I just logged in and saw it. So have faith, it'll come soon : ) 1 Like |

All thanks to Allah (SWT) which of His blessings will I deny? Walohi none. And also a big salute to my very own guru @makano that man was there for me from the begging to the end, he rendered a complete service, he even went above and beyond what was expected, he made sure every document was well placed before submission. To all those awaiting a decision from IRCC on their applications, I wish you all the best of luck. First application was submitted 2/11/2022 and was denied two weeks later Second application 18/03/2023 Bvl and Upfront medical passed 29/03/2023 Ppr. 06/04/2023. @makano thanks for your service. 14 Likes

God is good!!!! I recently got my passport back. I applied to University of Guelph last year,1st of November 2022 for Fall 2023. I got my admission on the 31st of January,2023. I was contemplating whether I should use an agent or not. I asked few friends that travelled already and most said I could do it myself. With the help of my family and loved ones, I became positive and started studying people's testimonies on here since November. I literally go page by page and gather each person's documents and what they submitted till the day I was ready to submit mine (I used the old portal, https://clegc-gckey.gc.ca/j/eng/rg?execution=e1s1 ). I did my upfront medicals on the 22nd of February because of the presidential election which happened on the 25th February .I gathered my documents and submitted them on the 24th of February . I couldn't upload my medical slip yet because I didn't get a reply from the hospital yet. so I submitted my documents nonetheless .I did my biometrics on the 27th of February, scheduled it on VFS portal (https://visa.vfsglobal.com/nga/en/can ) for 27th February. I emailed IOM Abuja on the 2nd of March to ask if my medical was successful and submitted and I got a reply confirming submission of my medicals. I waited till a week to see if it'll be uploaded on my portal, but nothing. So on 10th I sent a web form ( https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Lagos ) uploaded the medical slip given to me at IOM medical office and filled my details. On 13th March, It showed medical passed. On 20th March, I got my passport request. I submitted my passport and a copy of the printed passport request letter to the VFS office in Abuja on 28th March. Also went with the biometrics slip given to me on my photocopy page, that was what I used to collect my passport back. On the 1st of April , got an email to pick up my passport and I went on the 3rd of April . First time trial. Tired of Nigeria already but got to wait till August sadly. Book your flight early, the prices of flights keep increasing daily but I thank God for everything. I used my Parents as sponsors and my brother who stays outside the country as a Co-sponsor. DOCUMENTS - [x] All IMM forms - [x] Table of content in my SOP - [x] NIN slip - [x] Tuition deposit receipt of $5000 CAD out of $15,000 - [x] My property valuation documents in my name to tie me back to Nigeria. - [x] Deed of gift 1m from my 2nd elder brother - [x] Car ownership documents, Pictures of vehicles, if possible you beside it. and house - [x] Parents and siblings passports - [x] Dad and mom months pay slip, then calculated it annually in bracket. (multiply the salary per month x12) - [x] Dad and mom pension statements (if any) - [x] MOM USD statement of account (couldn't get MyBankStatement for this so I uploaded it like that, like 2-3pages). - [x] funds in naira account already covers part of my fees. (I got a good deed of large sum from my parents and I uploaded the receipt, and stated it was from my parents as their contribution). I uploaded MyBankStatement for mom's zenith account and my UBA account. Also stated I got 1m alert to my UBA from my parents in anticipation to my traveling. - [x] Shares Certificates (if any) - [x] Ongoing House project survey plan - [x] Copy of approval and Survey plan of landed property, Land documents - [x] An Explanation of estimated cost for the period of stay (e.g if your school fees for the program is $30000 CAD, show money of Tuition fee $30,000 CAD + $10,000 CAD needed by IRCC + miscellaneous $3,000 CAD = total $43,000... You can show more than that if available. - [x] my SOP (7 pages) then joined my other Documents making it 178 pages together. - [x] pictures of my family, Wedding pictures,FAMILY pictures, Casual pictures with family, and beside the house. - [x] CAC certificate of all my businesses - [x] Land receipt, contract of sale & allocation - [x] My birth certificate - [x] Passport data page (WITH ALL MY travel history - US twice, Ghana) - [x] Admission letter - [x] Original Copy Bachelor Degree Cert. - [x] Certified True Copy of Degree Cert.transcript - [x] Transcript - [x] TOEFL EXAM AND GRE EXAM - [x] Employment letter of my nays work place - [x] NYSC certificate - [x] Waec result - [x] Certificate of achievements - [x] Police certificate - [x] Resume - [x] investment letter in my name (uber ) - [x] Elder brother USD statement of account Upload as many accounts of yours as possible, many documents as possible also, and state everything clearly. For my financial support document, it was about 200 pages, I used WPS compressor to make it 4mb. My own Personal statement was about 160 pages, used WPS office to compress it also.I decided to share my experience because I feel it will be unfair and ungrateful of me not to give back to the community that helped me and also to encourage everyone going through this process. Pardon my grammatical errors, was so emotional typing this. Goodluck to everyone trying and do not give up!! 12 Likes 2 Shares

Hi I'd be applying for my visa soon and i watched a YouTube video that said that my sponsor can be my sister and if she has a done a change of name then I will have to provide documents for that. My sister is my sponsor and she is not married but she has a different surname from mine. Like she is answering our grandfather's name while I'm answering my father's name. My question is, would i have to show any documents to prove that she's my sister. The different surnames is showing on our birthday certificates Please help!! |

Wow guys it's been a long while. I don't know if my moniker is still popular here. I got a lot of information here on nairaland and also shared my little experience to newbies here. This is my first post since January. I arrived Canada December last year, almost done with first semester to the glory of God. I will answer any japa related questions to the best of knowledge the little while I will be spending here. If there's anyone in canada, toronto precisely for summer intake, there's a room available in a 2bedroom basement, it's very close to centennial College progress campus. Best wishes to everyone! 4 Likes |
