There is a reason those guys are always reluctant to publish a breakdown of their pay.

The only 3 jobs in Nigeria that have salaries that can rival 1st world countries are politician, olosho, and pastor.

Olosho bawo. How much daybreak be for Naija and how much e be for Aussie?

250k that I heard they are paying doctors in Nigeria is way above average in the Nigerian economy or which other profession in Nigeria does the starting salary equal half of that.

In my NYSC days while normal corners were earning total of 8500 corper doctors were getting 70k
Judging from unlimited comments...

The salary isn't d very much needed improvements but the working environment as well as the complexity in executing a simple task due to lack of tools.

Also, there seems to me no rooms for intelligent improvements un every aspect of d job .

WS is a highly accomplished writer and highly respected figure in society. However, I don't agree with his remarks about obidients demonstrating fascism in their approach to politics.
While it's true some obidients exhibit this attitude, I think the nobel laureate committed a fallacy of hasty generalizion thinking his remarks apply to all the youths that support PO.
Nevertheless, I don't approve the wide criticism his remarks have generated among many PO supporters online, and I have my reservations about the "cancel culture" of the obidient movement.

That's why I've never partaken in it personally.

I've personally found it hard to accurately describe "cancel culture".
Because from my view, once someone is duly criticized for doing something obviously wrong, people start shouting "cancel culture".

Look at Kingsley moghalu, yesterday he basically said he supports Soyinka because Soyinka endorsed him previously and then used the words "uncultured people" and the people saw through that tweet and rebuked him immediately and today he has apologised for his "wrong use of words".

That is accountability..

I personally felt stung by soyinka's words because I recall vividly how he was one of the prominent leaders and fighters against the misgovernace of the PDP and how he led the fight for a political revolution in this country in 2015, we were at his back, now WHAT HAS CHANGED??

How will he now be the same person to criticize the people carrying on the legacy of what he has fought for??

All what he fought against in 2015, have they been addressed?? Have they not become worse? So how can he not rationalise the impact of his words? He definitely deserved to be rebuked.

And why I said I don't understand that word "cancel culture" is because the people "cancelled" are never actually cancelled. It like a faux cry, you scream cancel culture but your influence remains the same.

Afterall batists have cancelled Obasanjo and threatened his entire lineage to be wiped off but Obasanjo is still waxing stronger, same with pa adebanjo. Soyinka would still maintain his influence so who exactly is cancelled?

Wole Soyinka has paid his dues. So he deserves to be cut some slack.

Those at the fore-front of criticising and condemning WS should save their energy for the incoming BAT government. They'll need that energy in ample amounts when BAT starts his tenure.
We are built differently and I blv we have different reactions to a given action.

The working environment is representative of what Nigerian infrastructure is head to toe as with any poor country

You think the roads, bridges railway drainage houses will be 5th world standard but somehow hospitals would be 2nd world or 1st world?

So you are saying that doctors are well paid here?

Wetin be 250k for a doctor? How much do graduate trainees earn in oil companies?

Many doctors in this lagos, I see trekking away their future to and fro work. How will these people operate on patients with a relaxed mind?

Also..if these evil law makers thought it wise to stop doctors from travelling abroad, They should lead by example and pass a bill that stops our leaders in every echelon from travelling abroad for medical care.

Compared to majority of Nigerian graduate, Yes doctors are well paid. You are a graduate right, what ws your starting salary? How many years did you work before you made 250K

Tell me which other profession pay 250K as a starting salary

Oil company is a private sector and can pay anything they want, I can also ask you how much resident doctors in Shell Hospital are earning

If doctors are trekking to and fro work, tell me which other professions do not trek to work or even live in worse conditions

While the premium ones goes as far as 250k even up to 1m..

These politicians we talk about are 100 senators and Maybe 400 HOR members right? Total of 500 politicians in Federal house in Nigeria

How many doctors graduate from UNIBEN every year? Now think of all the medical schools in Nigeria. So by the time you pay every doctor what a politician earn. Politicians earn 13m a month so we should pay Doctors 13m a year, what of their lecturers who actually taught them how to become doctors? Another 13m a month, Firefighters who save lives 13m.

500K is premium olosho in Naija o which are operating in VGC, Asokoro.
Yankee premium for daybreak operating in Hollywood and Wall street will charge $5k which is about 3.5m

The working environment everywhere in Nigeria is garbage. How many times have we seen pictures of classrooms that make you want to vomit, or pictures of hostels where people live if you see some pictures you wont eat for 2 days, The roads are like warzones, Some potholes can swallow an entire car. Infrastuctures have all but broken down

How realistic is it that everywhere you go public infrastructures are like pit latrine but only hospitals will be good to average

The decay in hospitals is one of the evidence of the overall decay of public infrastructure everywhere in Nigeria

Is there any profession in Nigeria that their working environment is even average

Soyinka that didn't tender apology for insinuating that Obj had a case to answer on Bola Ige's death, will not apologize to any group only powerful on social media. Take that to the bank.
