Okowa Deports Anambra Woman For Constituting Nuisance In Asaba

Delta State government has deported a 32-year-old woman, Ogochukwu Nwabude for engaging in alms begging in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.

Nwabude, who begged for alms in Asaba, was, thereafter, empowered by the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare in her state, Ify Obinabo and cautioned to desist from alms begging.

In a press release issued by the media aide to the commissioner, Miss Chidinma Ikeanyionwu stated that the repatriated woman was empowered by the commission, and handed over to the woman leader of her community, in Uruagu Nnewi.

“Ogochukwu Nwabude, a mother of one was sent back to Anambra by the Delta state government for constituting nuisance by begging in the state.

“Obinabo who did not spare the repatriated beggar frowned at the act but encouraged her to be an agent of change by engaging in a trade in order to fend for herself and her child.

“She (Obinabo) empowered her with a little token to help her start up a business of her choice but warned that if caught again, she will be taken to court and face the law.”

Ikeanyionwu quoted the woman as saying, she only engaged in the act for two weeks before she was captured by the Delta state government and repatriated back to the Anambra.

She promised not to engage in alms begging and pledged to make good use of the empowerment.

She was later handed over to the Uruagu Woman leader in Nnewi who will be monitoring her progress and as well report back to the ministry…..

Deport is not the right word. It was an expense paid free trip back home to support an unrepentant beggar from Anambra. The trip was funded by the govt for humanitarian reason.

That reckless hate filled Igbo man in Ajao estate threatening his Yotuba hosts will eventually be shipped back home by LASG.

You can be returned back home when you constitute a nuisance in another man's land. This is the least the host govt can do to avoid your host taking laws into their own hands.

The solution is to respect your hosts. If you do not you are playing with fire. Respect your hosts.

Is it legal or not? That's my question.

You cannot have deportation without state secession.

You call it deportation to incite but the victims of the nuisance are better returning her to her people safely. Charity begins at home and if she is ill trained she is back home to recieve proper training.

Stay back in your village if you will be a nuisance to your host. That is the message I want you to take home.

Every Nigerian has the right to live anywhere. There's no such thing as host and guest in the constitution.

If you want a host and guest relationship, then let's call a national referendum and break up Nigeria into republics. That's the only option.

No. That's why it's either we all obey the constitution that gurantees the rights of all citizens to live anywhere

Or we call a national referendum to break Nigeria into smaller republics, so that those who are not wanted can go back to where they are wanted. Simple.

They always want to embellish what suit their delusion narrative.
They are in pains cos they believe that Asaba is Igbo land but they are now shocked.

There is no Catholic- Anglican dichotomy in Nigeria you guys focus on in Anambra. Your host is the owner of the ancestral land you take temporary abode and you are their guest because they can always take back their land or send you away if you disrespect them. They formed and own that society you met when you left your village and they have behaviours they permit and do not permit.

Respect them for your peaceful stay there. If you go to a predominant muslim North respect their religion and culture if not you are a nuisance they will remove you from their land by all means; peaceful or otherwise depending on your choice. They can even stop you from voting same way many Northerners were disenfranchised in the SE or the Yoruba ensured that the Yoruba cast vote first before non Yoruba during last guber election in Lagos.

Respect your host or be ready to go back to your village where you can be a nuisance they can tolerate.

You can't stay anywhere where others can't stay with you, you can't destroyed your land and be thinking that you can stay anywhere because you're sharing same passport with others with bad attitude towards your host.

Lol the mumus wont answer the question. Judging by the story it is legal because she wasn't forced to leave. She was given the choice between leaving or being tried in court. I guess she took the deal and left. If they forced her to leave after the trial that would be unconstitutional.

The problem with tribalism and illiteracy is that y'all think it is the fault of the other tribe. We don't have tribal kingdoms in Nigeria, what we have is a single constitution. However if you guys cannot tolerate each other than everyone should go their separate ways.

You cannot claim to love Nigeria and then tell other people to go away. The solution is simple. Break up officially. The success of Lagos is due to Nigeria as a whole. Most companies located in Lagos have customers in the whole of Nigeria, north and south. If you cannot tolerate other tribes, push for a breakaway so we can have Yoruba land and not Nigeria.

.
You are being naive and it tells you why most of you have problems with other non Igbo Nigerians.
Right from home, as Yoruba, our parents tell us to behave our selves and respect our hosts when we go outside Yorubaland. If your parents tell you this you will not be this naive about customary laws and traditions of your host.

It takes us back to parenting. When parents fail to do their work their wards go into the society and become dysfunctional nuisance.
There are different societies and cultures in Nigeria, if you find yourself outside your village, respect your hosts.
I am done preaching to you. If you still want to try nonsense with your host you can go ahead. It is your own cup of tea.
