Ripples.. not riddles. I remember one scary episode in Ripples where they stole a dead womans ring and she started crying, that they should give her her ring.

Madam V boot and Thelma .
Another one is supple Blues.

I've been looking for that ripples and supple Blues on YouTube, it's not coming up. Maybe it wasn't uploaded before NTA scrapped it.

Awwnn .. it was every familys delight back in the day and I'm lucky to have watched it till the last episodes in our house..

The indomie generation will not understand her pains. When you'll hear ta na na naaa 😂 in your neighbors house and your parents won't allow you to go and watch it because it 8pm. Chai!

She can watch it now on YouTube. I still do from time to time.

Reminds me of them Hastrop family
Benny ( late)
Ego Boyo
Bob Manual Udokwu
Bamtefa of Fuji house of commotion.
Ireti
Iya Toun and Charles the "be be be guy.

These were the kind of movies we saw growing up. Those days when moral standards was still high.
Chei!

Omo, I thought we'd it so bad growing up but this revelation by Aisha Yesufu? Makes me realise that no matter what you're going through, someone else is going through something even more worst.
We'd a TV (black and white) & I watched Checkmate on it every Thursday night by 8p.m (if memory serves me correctly).

How that one take concern us ? grin

The monies meant for T.V and other luxuries were used by your parents to send you and your siblings to schools, so that your kids would not have to peep through someone's window to watch 'Were Orun' play by Jimoh Aliyu on channel 12, NTA Ilorin ; or "Ere Abalaiye" on OGTV, Abeokuta.

Thank God sha! That's my story back in the early 80s while still running after masquerades in the village. Na me come dey enter plane now ...chei Alhamudullilah!!!

Honestly.... those good old days. I watched it though. Checkmate was the rave of NTA back then

Before Checkmate, there was "Cockcrow at dawn, village headmaster, ichoku, Samanja, behind the clouds, and many others ". NTA had a wonderful annual movie festival NIFETEST which produced many solid movies like the 1984 scary ogbanje movie.
Nigeria was more united then under military regime despite denied freedoms, and the then recent civil war. Everybody felt at home in any part of the country.

Political vultures have crept up and divided us again far worse than pre-1960s era.

I think this opinion might be unpopular, but Nigeria fared better under military rule then, than our present democratic dispensation. Better economy, security, stability. Even the freedom of speech and expression which was the main reason for the demand for democratic rule is worse now. You criticize govt now, you are killed or arrested. There's almost nothing democratic in our present delusional democracy.
