If I should make a rough guess I think 50% of yorubas and about 95% of hausa/Fulanis are trapped in the illusion. At the end of the cycle, the average person who voted because he's entrapped in tribal mirages does not actually get a special package with respect to dividends of democracy.
Just take a good look at the north, within the past 3 days, Fulani herdsmen have slaughtered more than 100 people on record, the human development index is very low, poverty, unemployment and standard of living is ridiculously lower than most countries that are in a full blown war.
If you come to Southwest, the quality of life outside of lagos state and even in many areas inside of Lagos is no better than any other state in southeast and southsouth. It's still this same low unemployment rate, unavailability of basic amenities and endemic poverty. It's goes a long way to show you that irrespective of the tribe your president comes from, he will impact your life if he wants to and he will Bleep you up if you wants to.

During elections, one begin to ask himself whether we want to get out of this mess or you just want your tribesman to be there. For me, I do not care if the savior will come from China or Senegal, I just want a better life for myself and future generation and that will be much easier if there is a good governmental structure in place to help people reach their full potentials.

OP, not to get in the way of your conspiracy theory (I know how much fun those can be), but how is it some sort of tribalistic "gang up" by Hausas and Yorubas when the region which went in the most for voting along "tribal" lines was your very own? Do you really expect us to believe that the reason why Obi got 95% of SE votes was because he was soooo much better than the other two candidates, even while Yorubas and northerners were voting for Obi in Lagos and Plateau?

95% freely voting for one single party is simply unheard of in any truly democratic country: it is either evidence of mass rigging, or of an ethnocentrism so intense that "our pikin" is seen as automatically superior to everyone else, even if all objective evidence might point the other way. It isn't as if Peter Obi turned Anambra into a second Singapore during his 8 years in office.
