I'm new to the thread pls I want to invest but there are some clarification I would let to get b4 investing.

Does the investment have a validity/expiring period?

Is the percentage profit withdrawable each month? Leaving the capital untouch.

Mutual fund do not usually have expiry periods, except the fund goes burst. Many have a minimum investment period before you can withdraw without losing some of your interest.

You can ask them to pay your interest usually quarterly, and a few do monthly, if you do not want to re-invest.

There are different type of mutual funds. Money market funds usually guarantees your principal. Stock based mutual funds fluctuate based on the market performance and your principal is not guaranteed. They however traditionally offer the high return over the long haul.

MDBs sells tbills but those that offer the services of asset management or fund management do so through their subsidiary. Those subsidiaries operate as seperate entities.

The likes of FBN, FCMB, STANBIC, GTCO all do through their subsidiaries.

So in the real sense no bank offer mutual fund services.

thank you Boss, is it possible for me to fill the form online then do the transfer to details they will provide for me.

Very possible and that is actually the best method to open an account.

To open account, click the link on my signature. Complete the form that comes up.
After submission, details will be sent to your email.
You will need a passport photo, ID card, utility bill that is not older than three months to complete your registration.
You can also chat me up with the number on my signature if you need any assistance or clarification.

You join any mutual fund company not minding what bank account you hold.

You can invest into your fund as frequently as you want, and can use it as a vehicle to wealth building over time.

Happy to help at any time if you need further clarification.

I don't know if any is facing same issues here. I jave been trying to access my Stanbic IBTC mutual fund account through their mobile app and internet access since Thursday to no avail. It will just act as if the internet is bad and wont display anything. I have been using same network for every other thing on my phone without issues. In fact I even use it to open my Stanbic IBTC Bank section of the app.

What seem to be the issue please?

They sent a mail out that they'll be down from a maintenance between Thursday and Monday, I believe this would be the reason.

There several good companies. I use Stanbic. But other companies like FBN Quest, ARM are good choices. I generally prefer using long term players.

Interest rates are not calculated monthly, but annually, and interests mostly paid quarterly pro-rated. Interest rates vary based on MPR for money market funds, currently between 9-11%. Equity based funds vary widely.

You'll need to do your own research about what company you'll go with, and base your choice not only based on current interest rate. If you have Stanbic in mind then kindly use my ref link, but you'll be fine as long as you choose a company with a good track record, and stay the course.

All the best, and get into the Market as soon as you can to benefit from compounding.

What is FTDs? I noticed in united capital money market fund sheet of February 2023 that 68.2% of money market fund is invested in FTDs, 25.6% in Treasury bills and 6.2% in commercial papers. Please, what is FTDs?

That should be referring to Fixed Term Deposits if I'm not mistaken.
