In your mind, you think you're more righteous than I am right, that you failed to recognized a joke.

The only best way to avoid long talks with some Nigerians is to put a price you know they won't ask further follow-up questions on. It works like magic!

How can you come to a forum where generous Nigerians share their transcript and request for a PDF version like it's an aptitude test or Post UTME?

You even failed to see where I included verbal and quantitative reasons inclusive and you are here acting like the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

PS: I won't trade words with you even if you choose to justify your actions.

Shalom!!!!
Busted!

Joke? Lol

This is so contrary to what your fellow (@bigylanga) said above. You wouldn’t be saying all these if that applicant had agreed to pay the said amount.

So my interview was by 6:30, i got there around 3am, due to Lagos traffic, because i live in Ikorodu, i don't want to take any risk i would later regret.

Interviewer was a black American lady, sort of busty. Window 5

ME: Good morning, How was the holiday (Easter)

VO: Good morning it was great, yours?

ME: Great also, thank you.

VO: What course did you study for your 1st degree?

ME: Linguistics

VO: When did you graduate?

ME: 2019

VO: Have you ever traveled out of Nigeria before?

ME: No i haven't

VO: So why is it now you are going for your masters after 4 years?

ME: I needed to acquire some set of skills before going for masters, which i did, but then masters degree has a very big edge over bachelors degree here in Nigeria.

VO: But it is also the same way in the US.

ME: Well, like i said before, i have traveled out of Nigeria before, so i can't say i know how it is outside the country, i only know for my home country.

VO: (Smile) So what do you do currently?

ME: I was a software developer as at last year October when i filled my DS-160 form, but now i am a content and program editor for a radio station (radio name)

VO: I want to know what you do currently?

ME: I am a content and program editor.

VO: Who is funding you?

ME: I have a GA with the school and my elder sister is paying for the remaining deficit.

VO: What does your sister do?

ME: She is a Senior Software developer and also has a side business, which is real estate.

VO: (Typed for long and fast, then she looked at me and said) Your visa has been approved, congratulations...

Omo i nearly prostrate for her. Grace found me, at my first try for traveling out.

Get to the US first and apply for transfer, which will mean, you'll have to transfer your SEVIS as well to the new school. I think though

Hello everyone! Please I need your help. my first interview was with a private university at the COA of 70k.....funding 20k...... deficit 50k
but I got into some public universities with COA of 40k no funding and another university of about 35k funding 12500k deficit 22500 and another university with funding of about 12k ....... 33,500 deficit
but all this public universities has a low graduation rate (I don't know if the Vos checks those stuffs) except the one with deficit of 33,500. The school with 40k has an immigration specialist stated on the I-20 which will be receiving me at the point of entry. I don't know if that can increase my chances but my problem with the school is that the 40k with no funding is on the high side for me and I'm still finding it hard to chose the school I'll change my SEVIS ID to because I don't want the school I chose to be a reason for my denial or any sort of issue for me prior to the first school I was interviewed with. I don't know if I should go back with the school I had my first interview with which, the gave me more scholarship and my deficit now is about 43k ( I think it's still on the high side). If hopefully I get my Visa with the school then I transfer my I-20 to any of the public universities which there costs are lower than the private school or should I just go with any public school. please I need help and advice on this issue🙏

Scott, you don't need a publication to get a fully funding offer. Your Bsc and Msc dissertation is more than enough. Publication is good but research fit, Letter of recommendation and research experience (which you can get through your dissertation), then a good CGPA are the most vital thing in your application. If you have a strong CGPA of at least 4.2 over 5.0 you may not need to do GRE but if you have the money you can do it, I have even seen people with less than that and no get into top ranked schools.

If I may ask what Is your undergraduate and masters CGPA?

B.sc Civil Engineering, 4.31 CGPA. Looking to secure fully funded phd in environmental engineering, USA.

Advice sensei?
