Someone posted this last year.Seems it was worth the hype.

Oshi no Ko episode 1....8/10


I suddenly started hearing about this new anime yesterday...it was all over the anime sphere of the internet...it seems to have a loyal fanbase since it was made by the same mangaka of Love is War

I decided to give it a try even though it didn't look like the kind of anime I watch...

So I just finished episode 1 of Oshi no Ko....

It wasn't bad...
The first 15 mins seriously grossed me out cos of its pèdophilia and Lolicon stuff.... and there were a few more moments like that too later on...and a few cringe things...

AI is a great character and was well developed
The story and emotions itself is solid.

I don't like the protagonist tho. Having a protagonist giving pèdo vibes grosses me out... he's creepy af to me...
It's not normal for an adult to have a 16 year old idol as his wallpaper

He was an adult doctor obsessed with an underage child idol (16 years old).
Turns out the 16 year old Loli was now pregnant and he's the Obstetrician treating her...
He was not only totally fantasizing at her and using her as his phone wallpaper, he heard about the fan fantasy of being reborn as the child of an idol and he fantasized about being reborn as her unborn child....wtf

Funny thing is that he was once flirting with a 12 year old patient who was a fan of the idol and said he'd consider marrying her when she turned 16...
That's how he got interested in the idol

Even after he died and was reborn as her child, he tried as much as possible to think decently of her...but his obsession creeped me out...

The story does take a dark turn at the end of the episode...so I wonder where it goes from here...
In all, it was a good Prologue...

I'll keep watching

Unfortunately the pedo shxt is part and parcel of idol culture all over the world. Although the series doesn't do a good job of specifically portraying the main character's creepy behaviour as creepy, it still helps to highlight the nature of idol culture.

Fortunately he doesn't stay old for too long.
