Odunayaw: Who’s treating him now is it us the Nigerians ?? In a European pitch this injury would have been avoided. And they’ll know about the injury on time Hell we heard about the injury when he returned to Italy. Why didn’t the people he represented found out about it earlier ? On a European representative there’s so many levels put in place to help mitigate things like this 1 Like |

chrisooblog: When Tuchel was at Chelsea and when he eventually made a complete hash of things, he did not play with a traditional number 9. There was more of an interrelationship, with the front three interchanging positions and acting as inverted wingers. He placed greater emphasis on Ziyech, Werner and Havertz. It didn't make sense to me. He promptly benched the previous season top goal scorer Tega Abraham of which after playing the barest of minimum minutes was still the clubs top goal scorer from open play. But what was even more disturbing was how he treated a proven tested world class striker in the name of Lukaku. His treatment of Lukaku was shambolic and Lukaku openly disagreed with Tuchel. Tuchel preferred to play Kai as a false number 9 instead of playing Lukaku. Now consider Tega and Lukaku big strong fast strikers, albeit Tega the more technical of the two. See how Tuchel rubbished them. V.O. has more similarities with Lukaku and Tega than differences. It's in this light I would not advise V.O. to go to Bayern. It may all turn into sour grapes in a very short time. If V.O. was going to Borussiay Dortmund that would be a much better fit in my opinion for VO. |

komekn: The bolded is a joke.. to start with, any team that wants to sign Osimhen right now will jave to cough up nothing less than 100m.. that automatically makes him the star boy and focal point of the team... And again, why would he be competing with Sane,Mane and Gnarby? Those guys aren't out and out strikers..they are forwards.. Osimhen is an out and out striker.. And what do you mean that he won't be guaranteed a starting shirt? 😂😂 Since when did Bayern start signing players for big money and drop them to the bench? Dey play Osimhen wasn't the star boy when he joined Napoli, but look at him now... You still don't want to accept how good he is 😂😂 1 Like |

The setup in Bayern is not the same as Chelsea so it's presumptuous to say Tuchel will deploy similar tactics. Aubameyang a top 9 striker flourished under Tuchel at Dortmund so please dead that he can't use a point man agenda. Tammy and Lukaku haven't been consistent enough to figure in Tuchel's plans. Abraham since his move to Roma hasn't exactly set the league on fire so maybe Tuchel knows something an armchair analyst like yourself doesn't. Lukaku is a strange one because Tuchel gave him all the chances to succeed but his poor run of goal scoring form was too hard to ignore. Plus his rant to the Italian press at the time didn't do him any favours. Osimhen has other qualities different from Abraham and Lukaku so it's premature to say he will struggle under Tuchel when you don't know for sure how Victor will be used at Munich. komekn: 5 Likes |

Abeg dead this bayern talk. Tuchel no sabi use 9. Simple!! The track record is there. He no sabi use 9. Even when Tammy was fit he didn't utilize him the way Mou is doing right now. We don't want him in a team where the coach go dey double think his utility when he's one of the lethal 9s on the planet right now. Pep has even adjusted. Tuchel is yet to. 1 Like |

chrisooblog: Your clearly haven't watched and or listened to the complaints Lukaku made concerning Tuchel. Lukaku has been consistently oustanding since he was 16. He has done it everwhere he has gone. He is absolutely a world class striker. The season preceding Tuchel arrival Tega was Chelsea top goal scorer with 15 goals. He was dropped without any chance to compete , given barely any game time. Nonetheless, he Tega Abraham still had the highest number of goals from open play. Tega has not had good season but last season he scored 17 goals in his first season in Seria A That's a precedence that your cannot ignore , does a leopard change it's spots.❓ |

Even Mou is benching the boy most of the time at Roma. Wasn't this same Tuchel the same guy at Dortmund and PSG? Did he ever have a striker in the class of Osimhen when he coached Chelsea? 1 Like |

komekn:before his Chelsea time he coached four teams without having issues with the number 9 in those teams. His Chelsea stint is the exception rather than the norm when it comes to using number 9. So if tuchel decides he wants osihmen, it's because he has seen that he will be useful to his gameplay. |

Ukraine war: The Nigerian paying a 'heavy price' for playing in Russia By Oluwashina Okeleji Sports Writer From the sectionSport Africa Nigeria's Olakunle Olusegun Olakunle Olusegun is one of several Nigerians playing for Krasnodar while the Russian side also have Angolan striker Batxi as a member of their squad Nigerian forward Olakunle Olusegun says he is "paying a heavy price" for his decision to stay at Russian club FK Krasnodar despite Moscow's military campaign in Ukraine. The 20-year-old moved to Russia in August 2021, initially joining Krasnodar on loan from Bulgarian outfit Botev Plovdiv before sealing a permanent switch. But unlike compatriot Sylvester Igboun, who departed another Russian side, FK Nizhny Novgorod, after the war broke out in February 2022, Olusegun refused to take advantage of a Fifa rule allowing foreign players to leave the country. "Staying in Russia has really affected my career," Olusegun told BBC Sport Africa. "In my first season, I scored some fantastic goals which would have led to a call-up to the Super Eagles or Under-23s, but due to the sanction no one is watching the Russian League. "My dream is to play for Nigeria again. But with where I am, maybe it's a dream that has to wait. That is one of the disadvantages of me staying back in Russia." After shining with Fremad Amager in the second tier of Danish football, where Olusegun scored 12 goals and assisted four more in the 2020/21 campaign, the forward took to Russian football with surprising ease. He started his debut campaign in Krasnodar's second team before forcing his way into the senior side and helping the Bulls to a fourth-place finish. This season, he has scored five goals in all competitions and assisted twice. While his exploits have seen him linked to clubs in Europe's top five leagues, the ripple effect of Russia's invasion of Ukraine has been felt in the country's sporting arena. Its exclusion from Uefa competition has limited Olusegun's visibility while the outflow of talent has adversely affected the competitiveness of Russia's top flight. Olakunle Olusegun takes a shot and scores for Nigeria's Under-17 side against the Netherlands at the Under-17 World Cup Olakunle Olusegun's goal against the Netherlands at the 2019 Under-17 World Cup in Brazil was not enough to stop Nigeria going out in the last 16 Paying the price Olusegun first came to global attention as part of Nigeria's 2019 Under-17 World Cup squad, where he scored in the Golden Eaglets' Round of 16 elimination at the hands of the Netherlands. He has been unable to fulfil his dream of progressing through the national ranks, with the player convinced his position in Russia is largely to blame. "I was called to the Nigeria Under-20s last year but with the sanction of Russia - including flights in and out of the country - I could not meet up. "I contacted the coach and reminded him that maybe next time I might be able to come if he invites me. That was the only call up I had." It came as a surprise when Olusegun declined to take advantage of Fifa's special dispensation, especially considering that Krasnodar captain and Poland international Grzegorz Krychowiak was one of the first to do so, when the decision was announced in March 2022. Olusegun suggests his own swift adaptation to Russian football was a double-edged sword. "These past winter and summer windows, I got some interesting offers from some top leagues in Europe," he revealed. "But if they (Krasnodar) like your performance, and your dedication to the team, they will surely want you to stay. So they won my heart with that. "We had a review of my contract and I decided to continue at Krasnodar, but with certain conditions and clauses. "Maybe if I had accepted one of the offers elsewhere my career would have taken a different direction. "I am loved at this club, they take care of me quite well and I feel at home. "Maybe I am paying a heavy price for my decision but then again I am growing here and will continue to fight for the club." Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine Russia's invasion of Ukraine began on 24 February 2022. At the time, with its Premier League on a winter break, Olusegun was removed from the impacts of the conflict. "I was in Turkey for pre-season when the problem with Ukraine started," he recalled. "I was like, 'Okay, I will not be going back to Russia. I have to terminate my contract.' But my agent told me, 'It's something that will surely happen [the Russia-Ukraine war] and it has happened already. I don't think terminating your contract will be the best option for you.' "I listened to him and I also didn't think it was fair to leave the club in such conditions. "My family and friends back home in Nigeria were also worried about my safety but I explained that nothing in Russia made me feel unsafe. "This is my destiny. Coming to Russia, a lot of people criticised it. Many said, as a young boy going to Russia, it is to make money. "I tried to explain that it wasn't about the money. I believe maybe I will shine in Russia and people will get to know me." |
