Try to understand what INEC is saying there. Elections are rigged at the poling units not at collation centre (collation centre is only to add results together), If LP is not represented in a polling unit who will confirm if the number of votes you got is what they gave you? INEC's 300B is not meant to hire party agent for any political party, it is the duty of every party to hire her own agents.

Come to think of it, if LP can't afford to get paid agents or volunteer in a whole 41 thousand units is that not a testament that the party doesn't have the national spread as reflected in it not getting 25% in even 17 states?

Try to understand electoral process. ensuring credible poll in a particular polling unit means INEC to do the following

1. make voting materials and personnel available on time
2. providing security for voters
3. making sure party agents on ground monitor how the process is going on
4. making sure that the result signed by every agent on ground is what is collated.

The question is this, if LP doesn't have an agent on ground and the officer in that unit scores LP zero as against say 15 votes actually cast for LP, the INEC is obliged to go with the zero result as long as the agents of other parties on ground signed it, since LP doesn't have any agent to contest it.

If a party cannot get just 1 person to serve as agent for it in a polling unit? I doubt if that party can get anybody to vote for it in that unit, and if it does, it definitely can NEVER win that polling unit. Simple logic.

What INEC is saying is that the only person required by law to attest to or act as a witness to claims or malpractice in a polling unit is the party agent! Now, if you don't have a party agent in the stated polling units how can you officially claim there's rigging? It is not about what you or anyone says but what the law says. The party agent is the only recognised authority for the party in a polling unit.
