If you want your properties to be shared to specific people, then write a WILL.

Property doesn’t automatically transfer to the next of kin. It can if there’s no other living relative and no will. If the person has a spouse and/or children, they’re the first in line to inherit the property. There’s usually a succession of property inheritance defined by law

If you want someone other than your spouse and/or children to inherit some of a property like a bank account, you should make them a joint owner or name them a beneficiary in a will
