Dam5reey:Thanks bro. We don't really know the configuration in which the panels are connected but what i will say is get back to you as soon as we get hold of the installer that mounted the panels for us.We will also do what you advised and get back to you on that. Thanks for your help. |

Jefferyzz:We will find out on cable size and specifications used and communicate. The orientation was not so bad as it was installed on an flat roof. I'll try upload a pics for further clarification. P.S The sun rises from the other end of the roof and sets on the side of the roof where the panels are.

bigrovar:*They are connected to (4) 12v 220AH flooded batteries. (1st pics) *I don't have the panel connection configuration yet but I'll revert when i have that info. *Panels were procured from lagos and i have a screenshot of the label (though not very clear). It was Canadian solar and on the label it was 400w. I'll send a clearer pics too when i get one. (2nd pics is the meter reading of when they were being tested while the 3rd pics is the sticker.) *House is not upstair and i posted a pics on a previous reply above sir on how the house looks like. I'll attach a picture of the inverter when we captured what the inverter said it was getting from the panel. Maybe you can get any new info. Charge controller is saying it is getting 63V from the panels around 4pm.(4th pics)

When u get the type of cable used. If it's a DC cable...10mm.. den u can cancel out cable aspect. Next is to the amps generated by each panel n d type of connected don for them. The panels might b those used panels sold as new. They might series all those panels. Given the fact that the CC can take up to 500vdc. But if those panels are not generating enough amps each. The high volts will just b figure head. Elcapitan0: |

Elcapitan0: I have a feeling going this route may be long and tiring for you and your friend. I advise you get an installer (preferably from here who knows his onions) to come check your system and advice you appropriately. It may cost you some bucks, but better in the long run. Some things are harder to repair once installation has been completed if you are not very knowledgeable about the system is supposed to be run optimized. 1 Like |

Hello guys. Pls can I get more information or recommendation on the best and durable dc/ac ceiling fan. I wish to change my home ceiling fans from regular newclime (which I assume consumes up to 75w) to the dc/ac ceiling fans (power consumption of about 25 to 35w I think). This will help save the much needed battery juice. I don't mind getting any contrary recommendations on how best to maximise the usage of my batteries with fans. This heat no get part two. Lolz Thanks in anticipation. |

Around Q4 last year. I upgraded my solar panels from 9x 335 Yingli panels to 9x 600w Canadian Hiku7 solar panels. Bought panel from techland. Here is a short performance review. Installation. The panels are roof mounted with a 21 degree tilt. They face South East at 123 degree Azimuth. The panels are paired with a 100A / 150v Victron smart solar charge controller. Total capacity is 5.4kw. 9 panels are connected in a 3SP3 arrangements. There is a 10mm2 shielded and UL listed cable between PV and charge controller. Cable length is about 10 meters. Overall the system performance has been really good. I get an average of 4.5kw output which represents over 80% of panel PMAX. One thing the panel is really good at is how it handles heat. It has a heat co efficiency of 0.34% and this shows in the performance. Yesterday ambient temperature (as pulled from my personal weather station) was as high as 43C, yet the panel was able to produce (consistently) north of 4400w. During cloud edge events the panel has produced close to 110% of output which is 5.8kw of 5.4kw PMAX. I attached 2 centrifugal fans to the Victron solar charge controller to help handle heat since I am using the controller close to it's limits. 6 Likes 1 Share

The other day my car died on me. It read 12.2 V on the multimeter. Initially wanted to borrow or pay for another battery to jump start the car. Was too early for that. So I switched off my solar panels, disconected the inverter batteries from the charge controller. Connected the car battery to the charge controller. Switched the connection of the solar panels to the charge controller back on. After about 10 to 15 minutes disconnected the setup took the battery to the car and it started right up. Of course I had to reconnect the inverter battery back after I had returned. Just sharing a story from the trenches. 2 Likes |

bigrovar: Beautiful. When I grow up I want to be like you. Take home lessons. You didn't wait until you could buy top of the line of equipment before setting up. You started with what you have and upgraded along the way. I plan upgrades to my setup by June 2023 and stories like this are very helpful. I use Jinko panels by the way and I agree that if you have top of the line panels you can exceed nameplate in certain conditions |

Is there anyone who uses an external battery voltage equaliser here? I mean for batteries connected in series. The voltage of the the battery pack is different hence one battery stands the risk of being over discharged faster that the other, even if one does balancing before connecting the batteries in series. |
