That's not unexpected though. I think they just get beaten by a more talented team.

Na, what they are doing today is an anomaly considering their regular season defensive/ rebounding stats.

The Kings are ranked 26th out of 30 NBA teams in rebounding and 25th in defensive rating.

Playoffs basketball is for all the marbles, it's not in the same stratosphere as the regular season at all. It just like the knockout stage of the uefa champions league, no be Mai Mai.

PS: That is why it's always good for a player to taste it early in their career and get over the butt clenching and stomach butterflies, when they ate not necessarily expected to win

This isn't Sabonis' first playoffs appearance. He had consecutive playoff experience with the Pacers.

The Kings are not slowing down, my goodness!

Are they on drugs?
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:07am On Apr 16, 2023
This is personal for FOX and M. Monk is not afraid f attacking that rim.
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:12am On Apr 16, 2023
D. Fox's game has matured immensely.
Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 4:12am On Apr 16, 2023
I agree, they are terrible defensively, but a team with a big just bothers GSW.

Warriors have no answer for Monk and De'Aaron Fox.

They just might steal this game despite Sabonis disasterclass

Centers have no excuse to shoot 25% from the field especially one that doesn't take 3's. And have much smaller defenders on you

The Kings are getting everything they want under the rim.

Kings matches most times result in high scoring result.

GSW will still win the series tho. Most of the Kings regular will choke.

Sabonis shooting today has been atrocious. Same with Huerter and Keagan.

Fox almost undid all his hardwork. The last two possessions. That missed free throw might be expensive

Dumb loss by the warriors....

Warriors in 6.

Nah. I seriously doubt that.
They merely won this one.

Irrespective of today's result, the Warriors should feel fine with today's game. I think the question is, can the Kings play with such pace and intensity throughout this series?

As for choking, I don't think so, if anything, I think they would gain more confidence as they play more playoff games, especially at home. However, the Dubs have the advantage because of their experience, they have seen it all and will make adjustments in game 2.

Yes I know but Monk will not always turn up like this, If they have to stand any chance, Sabonis, Huerter and at least Barnes must be ready to turn up.

I fully expect GSW to win the series but the Kings can pull an upset as we see tonight.
Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 4:35am On Apr 16, 2023
The Warriors lost 30 road games in the regular season. Don't expect that to magically change in the playoffs. If they can steal one away game then that would be massive for them. But it looks like they missed that opportunity tonight.

See. I'm not gonna argue with you.
But one thing about the warriors, they make adjustments EVERY game. Remember the game 1 loss against the celtics at HOME?
My worry right now is with Either the Lakers or Grizzlies. The warriors struggle against bigs and against Athleticism.
The Grizzlies expecially can actually put them down..

I know of GSW woes on the road and it’s part of why I’m telling they will lose game 2.

Kings is more of a threat to GSW than Memphis to me personally.

I hope you know that road woes, does not include the Kings.
The warriors won 3 of 4 games against them.
By the way, it does look like the warriors losing game 2 is a wish.
It's too early in the playoffs to start praying against the warriors. You'd be highly disappointed.
You can start doing that from the second round.

Mike brown knows this warriors team inside out, if we lose this series it’ll be mostly because of him

I'd be a bit worried if I were the Warriors. This was a game to be stolen.

And judging by how poor they've been on the road they absolutely had to have this game IMO.

I doubt Sabonis would shoot 25% from the field the rest of the series. So they basically won on the back of two guys playing exceptional. What happens when others also play above average.

If the Warriors go down 2-0. Hmmmm

Exactly my thoughts, Draymond would have to put up huge "board" numbers, coz it's almost a given that Sabonis would always do that. Imagine when he hits his peak and delivers the triple double he's known for. Warriors need to pick a road win else, they're done.

Warriors problem this season has been in the paint, no dominant center to get paint buckets or dominate the board and guard the paint, looney has his moments but he barely plays 15mins, if Steph and Klay get cold from three in 2 straight games our season is over

Warriors problem this season has been the second unit.
You guys are panicking over nothing. Warriors basically dominated the game and went to sleep in one quarter. Its something better game management would fix.
Sabonis may or may not have this kind of game again( draymond and Looney match very well against him).
But Fox and mink aren't repeating what they did tonight. They can't keep up the intensity. The Kings were the 3rd seed, did yall expect the warriors to sweep them? if they can't win game 1 at home, they basically get swept.
If its any consolation, the warriors have won every series where they lost game 1.

Nah bro our second unit has been okay, it’s not at Boston or Milwaukee level but Poole, kuminga, divincenzo, lamb have held their own 70% of the time this season. I feel you though we def can’t sweep them, any team is the playoffs is legit, like you said tho with good adjustments we can be better come game 2.

I feel a lot of Warriors supporters are treading too much on political correctness. That game was lost due to freakish shooting from Kings (they won't shoot that well again) and BAD REFEREEING. Monk should never get more free-throws than Steph. Not with how Steph was being brutalized; but it won't make for good viewership if the Warriors sweep the Kings so the NBA will do what it has always done.
