Unpopular opinion.

Ndidi's real age may have caught up with him.

It is tactical deviation. The game requires more ball players and passers in midfield than destroyers.

Pressing in football is getting tighter. So players need to improve on a variety of things like passing, scanning, turns with the ball etc.

Ndidi needs to remodel his game and he will be fine.

Being a top level dm requires an unreal level of physicality and body-frame

Look at Nigel De Jong, Rodri, Kante et al......

Even Kante's struggles aren't unrelated to performing at a top level for many years..

So,......maybe Ndidi just needs prolonged rest.

Wear and tear... But I really hope Ndidi hasn't passed his prime already

That 4-4-2 formation is a recipe for disaster against any good team. It makes our central midfield position extremely lean and porous. Just look how the Portuguese were slicing through our midfield like hot knife through butter. Heck, even Guinea Bissau easily went past our midfield whenever they had the courage to attack.

A 4-4-2 can only work if your two CM/DMs are technically gifted workaholics who can create, run to cover space and make good strong tackles. Anything less than that and you are entering battle with a shield made of glass.

Rohr's biggest victories e.g against Algeria and Cameroon in the WC qualifiers were won with a strong three-man midfield.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Peserio will change the formation anytime soon... That's what he has been using since he took charge of the team

You can gloat now! Well deserved! I hope you are the best in your line of job if not you don't have the right to critic one of the best DM in the premier league! Ndidi is a proper DM and he will get back to his best soonest! Leave him alone!
IDENNAA:

Let's be factual. Ndidi was rated for his tackles and blocks which is what a defender does. He just happens to find himself the midfield. Additionally , I never rated Ndidi because I am not a man that is easily carried away. Everyone who knows my handle knows I hardly shift ground.

I was ganged up on because I insisted Nwakali was better than Aribo....guy , look face biko

The purpose of this thread requires re-evaluation due to the presence of individuals who derive pleasure from gloating when our players face challenges. It is both absurd and shocking that such delusional people exist. Therefore, it is essential to consider banning people who predict doom for our players or wish them harm from this platform.

Furthermore, individuals who visit this platform solely to mock or laugh at our players should not be allowed to participate. Such behavior is unacceptable and amounts to putting down successful people. It is crucial to provide a safe and positive environment for our players, where they can receive constructive feedback and support.

In conclusion, it is necessary to re-evaluate the purpose of this thread and ensure that it aligns with the values of respect, positivity, and support. We must take measures to prevent radicals and failures from having a platform to put down our successful players. By doing so, we can create an environment that fosters growth, development, and success for our players.

Thank you!

The person you quoted termed Onyedika, a Nigerian player, a mediocre and then goes ahead to put up that post. How sooo Hypocritical. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Also, it is on this thread that we have had to put up with all sorts of degrading, demeaning, "pull-him-down"and harsh comments made towards Osimhen, Iheanacho and even Kelechi Nwakali. Did the thread shut down? Did it end the good works some of us are doing in here?

Even Sadiq Umar has suffered his. Chukwueze as well.

Some are still doing such till now every now and then and we are still here. I didn't see anyone come out to talk about "thread reevaluation" or all that rubbish.

Now someone put up a hypocritical post all because Idennaa gives his Opinion about Ndidi which he has always had even when Ndidi was topping defensive Stats across Europe dating back to 2019/20 season even. He absolutely misread Idennaa and is lumping him with folks his post is meant for. And if he is being honest, that post is also for someone like him. He practically talked down on Onyedika. Called him a mediocre.

Truth is various folks will always come in here and say whatever they like... but it is up to us the True Guardians, and Key Contributors of the Thread to keep the focus of this thread burning and keep updating thread viewers and readers on the exploits of Nigerian footballers and more as regards Nigerian football.

This is a public forum and in as much as I don't appreciate how certain people come in here and talk down on our lads, the truth is people are actually free to comment on the thread and say what they think. It is rather up to the rest of us not to engage such posts or we can choose to shut some down with facts of our own while simultaneously keeping focus on the significance of the thread.

In the end, you cannot shut down speech freedom and limit the perspectives of this thread to a select few like myself and couple others. It's not nice.

And I say this knowing that I absolutely abhor certain negative views or takes on our players but then, I have learnt to just ignore some or tackle some with counter-facts and leave it be or I just laugh and move on.

You cannot seek to control the narrative of others so forcefully. You become an information tyrant in attempting so.

No long talk, Onyedika balled yesternight in the presence of Paserio. I am even watching the match all over again cos of the way he played. Exceptional performance!

.... Dey hype a mediocre player! As long as Onyeka is fit your Onyedika will not even get a call up! Keep crying!

First you put up a hypocritical post and won't accept it for what it is.... A hypocritical noise of no substance.

Idennaa was only being factual on Ndidi. Nothing more.

And next, The Onyedika who is a mediocre had now dropped back to back top midfield performances but according to you, he isn't worthy of a Super Eagles call up and is (stressing it again) a MEDIOCRE who is being hyped.

You say and type things without thinking and expect to be taken seriously? Go rest and don't disturb my mentions with your hypocrisy.

And I am pretty sure Peseiro being the stubborn and blind coach he is, still won't see good tactical reasons to call up Onyedika. He may only call him up to get our attention but still won't use him right.

And calling up Onyedika is not gonna solve all our midfield issues. He needs to do more than call up Onyedika. We need a fresh midfield callup list and we need to pick the right personnel from these callups.

So you and Peseiro should go rest. You both ain't deceiving anybody.

Unlike you, I never termed Onyeka a mediocre player but a player who can serve us in other capacities due to his physical and roamimg qualities but not from the start.
You termed Onyedika a Mediocre. I termed Onyeka as a lad who can be a squad player.

BIG DIFFERENCE, You noisemaking hypocrite.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Saying Onyeka is limited technically and tactically and doesn't fit the right midfield profile needed to start NT games to move us forward isn't undermining. It is me stating analytical facts borne out of pure analysis and not sentiments like you attach when discussing our players.

ONYEKA IS LIMITED AND ALL YOUR ATTEMPTS TO BUTTER IT UP to something else DOES NOT CHANGE THAT SIMPLE FACT.

We need a proper CDM to start games for us and there is no way Onyeka answers that question from technical and tactical POVs.

Lastly, giving Onyedika a call up yet playing him for only how many mins again? His debut was for only 5mins+. How did he "use" him?
Pray tell, has he called him up again since then? Has he especially with Onyedika showing himself so good in the UCL??

How many Midfielders did your daddy, Peseiro invite last window? Tell me, how many?

Look, just quit your low brained attempt to escape your hypocritical faux pas, you Pato-incarnate. It is dead on arrival.

Burner profile? Why do inconsequential entities like you always attack what doesn't exist? Whenever you low lives have nothing on someone so good you always come up with that idiotic line yet whatever you say cannot change who I am and what I do. So cut the crap and stay on the topic of your hypocritical craze, Pato-incarnate.

Nearly every time, you speak on this thread, you literally make the thread dumber than it is supposed to present. It is so bad yet so interesting to watch and see the extent of this foolery. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

It's fine My Good man. Just needed to set the records straight.

Truth is you saw something that many of us didn't want to actively pay attention to.

While we focused on Ndidi's obviously world class Defensive Stats (tackling, interceptions, clearances, ball recoveries and more) which got him the huge attention he revelled in for 3-4 seasons in the EPL up until 2020/21 season, you on the other hand focused on his limited technical quality on the ball. You even called out his poor press resistance and limited passing range. You may not have used these terms verbatim but your posts pointed to them.

I recall you using this to even say you prefer this player or that player to Ndidi and I always opposed your posts from the angle that Ndidi is still the best and most inform midfielder we have out there (which was true at those times).

I honestly even considered your posts very harsh but then I decided to pay closer attention to what you were saying and I found it true.

Time has shown that indeed Ndidi wasn't improving technically and tactically. He is still the tackling/interceptions machine (and he even seems to be struggling with those lately especially tackling) we know but midfield football dynamics has left him behind.

The PL Title race is truly down to that April 26 game

FT West Ham 2-2 Arsenal

Arsenal throw away a 2 goals lead. Saka misses a penalty that could haunt their title aspirations.

City with a game in hand now. Just 4 pts adrift of the Gunners.

I'd be damned if the Gunners win this league season. Man City is in a crazy form and indomitable momentum. Anybody putting their bet on Arsenal is crazy... grin grin grin

And Man City will still whoop Gunners come rain ,come sunshine. I hate Guaduola still
