While the three cars above are not in the same category, the 2008 avalon beats the rest of the cars in terms of fuel consumption, availability of parts and maintenance cost. Those two beamers will dig a big hole in your pocket, especially if you buy a poorly maintained one.

No hyping what’s not needed. I’d take the RX, it’s no brainer, I’ve owned an RX330 for 6.5years and NO break down. Most lexus owners can attest to the quality of what they are driving.

Finally it boils down to preference, but saying a GLE will out do a lexus RX, I’d be forced to ask by what margins? Repair bills or what?

Good day car gurus. My comparison is based on maintenance cost and availability of parts. I'm based in Port-Harcourt. I hardly find Bimmers on the streets, it's more of Toyota and Lexus. However, BMW mechanics here are scared of the N-engine which the 2008 BMW X5 carries unlike the M54 engine for the X3, which most BMW mechanics are familiar with around here. Perhaps, I want a ride with good interiors and also availability of parts around.

You see the set of people who complain about maintenance bills of german vehicles are in some situations people who have no business buying german vehicles.

Have you ever thought of it this way? If they are so unreliable why are the rich still buying them. We have a cls in my family and i can attest to the cost of maintenance being high but pops would rather keep maintaining than go Japanese. Claims japanese cars are very basic.

I've had opportunity to converse with some seriously rich men. And i've never heard this comparison. Most usually have both because they serve different puposes. You want comfort and smoothness go german. You want rugged and peace of mind that it will always start. Go japanese. But at that there are germans that will still crush the Japanese in that. Likes of porsche and specifically gwagon
