Most likely, Everton will relegate this season, no thanks to Lampard.

But Boli doesn't learn. A loss against Brentford on Wednesday makes it more likely that Chelsea might soon start fighting to avoid relegation this season.
Chelsea can't be involved in a relegation battle.
tho mathematically possible but it won't happen..the required benchmark for a team to escape relegation is 40...
we are 1point off that .. there's no way we would loose all our matches and Nottingham forest would win all theirs

it's still mathematically possible for Man united to win the league (they win all their remaining matches and both man city and arsenal loose at least 3) but we know that is unlikely..same for Chelsea

Looking at our remaining matches, it is only Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest that I think we will have good results.
If we can get 9 points from Brentford, Bournemouth, and Nothingham Forest, all well and good. But I won't trust Lampard not to lose all the remaining games.

It's almost impossible for Chelsea to finish lower than 15th even if we lose every game. It's simple Maths.

The clubs in the bottom half represent 50% of the league, and we sit at the halfway point.

There are 6 games left, 7 for some. Let's call it 6 across the board for simplicity.

Without looking at fixtures, by probability, they will face 3 teams from the top half and 3 teams from the bottom half (amongst themselves)

Let's be extremely generous and award them all 9 points in the 3 games they will each play against the top half teams.

Now let's assume in the 3 games they play against the bottom half teams (amongst themselves), it ends in 1W, 1D, 1L each. That's 4 points

If on average they take maximum points from the top half and share the points from the bottom half equally, that's 9 plus 4 which is 13 points

All of them would have to satisfy this criteria of beating all the top half teams and sharing points among themselves for us to relegate. This is almost impossible.

Now let's take the team on relegation spot (Everton) that is 11 points behind us. Do you think if Everton make up the 12 points needed to overtake us, they won't do so by taking points off one of Leicester, Leeds, West Ham, Bournemouth, Wolves or Palace who would now be one game behind in their quest to catch us? By probability I already know it's likely they face one of those teams - and infact I just checked and they have 3 of those teams to play. I'm sure if you actually run the fixtures though an algorithm, we are already mathematically safe.

As a physicist, I would expect you to just look at the table and know the probability of relegation is negligent because it involves variables that all interact with each other, and is not a straight line race between Chelsea and Everton/Forest. If Everton or Forest go on an amazing run, they will do so at the expense of multiple clubs who will now pose a smaller Mathematical threat to us.

Hopefully, things improve for Chelsea soon. Any team one has to do this sort of calculations for to progress in a tournament or league is dying.

Meanwhile, Leyqute did you see Theo Walcott with his trademark goal yesterday grin? remember i told you that was his favourite kind of goal and he is the best at it.

Yeah.

That kind of goal is common with traditional wingers who knows their onions.

And it's a difficult finish because of the position and their dominant foot. But it's an even easier finish for inverted wingers.

I don't know what the clowns are rejoicing about. Tuchel won't be the first top coach to have a poor start in a new club.

Pep and Klopp are some of coaches that had a poor (trophyless) start in a new league but improved later on after signing key players and selling some.

When Tuchel spends some months in the new league he's and his performance fails to improve, then your silly comments will be reasonable.

Chelsea plan to build a £2BILLION expansion of Stamford Bridge instead of moving to a new stadium in Earl's Court... with Todd Boehly set to confirm development plans over the summer. {Dailymail}

Is it 100,000 seaters, how is it £2B

Stamford Bridge is the most difficult stadium in the world to develop, probably on par with Monaco stadium

The train station into there does not carry enough people to service a 60k capacity stadium and every square meter of space in that area costs £20k. Every single neighbour is a multimillionaire and just to displace them to expand the footprint of the stadium and the train station will probably eat £1bln to £1.5bln

🚨BREAKING! Chelsea are set to commit to a £2BN expansion of Stamford Bridge rather than relocating to a new stadium in Earl’s Court, which has now been ruled out.

A decision on the Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge plans is expected to be confirmed by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital over the summer, once costs and time frames are established.

Boehly added to Lampard’s dressing down of the squad after the defeat to Brighton with the implications of his intervention still being discussed around the squad.

Boehly spoke to the squad but also named some individuals saying words to the effect of “This isn’t good enough, this isn’t what we brought you to the club for, you are not taking responsibility”

AND YES! WREXHAM moving up the food chain with a National League record of 110 points!. cool

Welcome to Wrexham, Welcome to League Two.

This is what you could call a success story and it seems both Ryan and Rob have gone about this the right way by allowing those who understand the game, run the game.

Say you be owner no mean say you go just dey make irrational decisions anyhow. pfff!

Special mention to Paul Mullin. There is no Wrexham without a Paul Mullin goal, he was brought in specifically for that - to score goals and he delivered instanta - 38 League goals! What a player.

Do you think it's wise to sell Kante by the end of the season? If so, who should we use to replace him?

There are reports Man City wants to go for Kovacic.

It is wise to let Kante go (contract is expiring). I would even sell James who Madrid are chasing.

You can't be paying these niggas £250k to £300k per week for them to only be available one week out of three. They are worth that salary if fully fit but they hardly are. That money they earn is based on receiving a utility from them every week.

I will keep Kovacic if he extends, but with one year left, he calls the shots.

Broja, RLC, Odoi, Gallagher and Mount will go since they are pure accounting profit (they have no carrying value) so the amount you get for them is the profit you declare on the books for that year. Same with James. Boehly will need all these to balance the books for FFP.

Everyone else that we sell apart from Kovacic and Havertz will lead to an accounting loss (their sale price will be less than their carrying value) and will not actually help Boehly meet his FFP limits. Forget selling Cucurella, he will be the biggest accounting loss as his carrying value will be £50m in the accounts but we can't get more than £30m for him, leading to £20m accounting loss toward FFP.

To understand what I am saying, ignoring salaries, if a player is bought for £50m on 5 year contract, each year he spends amortises his carrying value by £10m (£50m/5). After one year, his carrying value will be £40m. If you sell him for £30m, you declare immediate £10m loss in your account for that year. Homegrown players have no carrying value so any amount you sell them for us pure accounting profit.
