It was usually aired on Galaxy TV i think, back then and it wasn't censored. The blood, the fights, everything was fully shown. I still remember an episode Kenshin was mortally injured, i think the villian guy passed a sword through him, i thought he died.

Unfortunately, it got to a point, they stopped showing it. I wouldn't blame them though, such violence aren't meant for kids consumption.

I watched part of the movie yesterday.

Nowhere near as bad as it is being made out to me

The only bad casting for me was the older teni. I don't know why they did that. She was clearly much older than those who were supposed to be her contemporaries. It was even more glaring as she was supposed to have been schooling in Yankee where youth vain about their body die

I was getting a lot of the wire vibes

Adesua/gift reminded me of Snoop from season 4
Young obalola reminded me of Mike / young omar with the code.

I also got good fellas vibes from obalolas mum. Same thing happened with Henry hills dad beating the shit out of him in good fellas

My issue was that imho they shoehorned too many oyibo crime tropes into the movie and some obvious absurdities

Lagos area boys with automatic weapons?
Crime lord with his own personal abbatoir?
Even cultists no dey do out and out fight as far as I know. Na kill and retaliate. Not outright battle.
Add to the fact that for better for worse yorubas are always mocked for being more bark than bite in fight matter

The characters except for Bimbo ademoye nailed their roles. The action sequences were good, Adesuwa fighting skill was top notch.

I love the ending especially.
Nollywood improved on this one.

You will like the trade more. It’s from the same director. More like the story of Evans the kidnapper. The acting was great (especially the lead) and the story was well executed.

For me, it’s better than the gangs of Lagos. I feel the gangs of Lagos got better pr.

Sure na.... We "Sailors" over here in Nigeria thinks DVDs are extinct but they aren't. I mean, they're the main source of Blu-ray content we download on the net. It's still a sizeable and important market in North America as well as the EU.
Movies that flopped or performed poorly at the box office has a chance to redeem itself in the physical DVD sales market as well as selling to streamers, airlines, cable TV etc. DVD sales are the most important/profitable of all after theatricals and arguably pays more than streaming.

The way Ana De Armas filmography has been going downhill ehn since No Time To Die is alarming. And she's been prolific. 😐
