Joannebassey: There's no more natural ways in this our society. There's no garden or park within many neighborhood. It's not even safe for kids to go play with neighbors like we do in our time. Everything is going on the screen. Social life has been destroyed by several factors. 2 Likes |

Joannebassey:This get me thinking too. My 7 months plus boy won't allow me and the mom use our phones close to him without screaming for either of phone. The mother have started pressing me to get children pad for him, im ignoring her, i know is a matter of time, she's going to get it for him. This boy can spent an hour on her laptop watching cartoons and children songs she downloaded for him. |

There's a book called King Me by Steve Farrah,it all about building sons to men, Kings and Father's,every son wants to be mentored by his father. He wants to have a special place in his Father's heart,he wa t to respect and Emulate him.down deep he wants to know his father and be as close to him as possible.S.D Gilbert said it well,it may be hard on some Father's not to have a son,but it is much harder on a boy not to have a father. That what every son is saying to his father whether you realize it or not, there's nothing more in life that he wants than for you to king him,one day you will pass off the scene and he will assume.e your role as head of the family .it's your job to prepare him and get him ready for that day.The best leaders think far enough ahead to groom a replacement. That's what fathering is all about,it's mentoring and equipping your son to become a man who will assume the family leadership for the next generation. You have no higher calling in life. It's a God given assignment. There's is nothing nobler in all of life than to shape your son into a man.The kings didn't do it. 3 Likes |

while it may be difficult at the first time...u really need to stand on your ground of a reduced screen time, they will adjust, no matter how they scream..do not give-in. constantly remind them as kids learn through repetition. with time they will adjust. it was diificult setting this rule for my daughter but we did it after countless noooooos, she doesnt even beg me to let her watch her tablet..she knows its gonna be no unless its screen time |

dahmie2013: Some parents even expect teachers to teach the children how to eat, greet, pray etc. Gone are the days when parent and teachers are on same page to move a child's life forward Some parents are just figureheads 2 Likes |

You guys should learn not to complain about every situation. This is digital age and there is nothing anybody can do about it, so its better you harness the digital era and help your kids key into the gains on time. My son started using adult tablet from when he was around 6 months, and now that he is 3plus, he is almost a pro with handling gadgets. He even knows how to use Apps to draw, and the latest one I caught him doing was editing his own pictures and his mom's pictures stored on his phone using photo edit App His early use of Tablet helped him master words and spelling to the extent if you randomly mention alphabets he would tell you different words that started with that alphabet. At his age, he can count numbers from 1 to 100. He knows virtually all animal names, knows the difference between aeroplane and helicopter. The most shocking one was a day I drove around with him, this little boy was telling me to stop once he saw red traffic light and when it turned yellow he told me Daaaddyy get ready, and as soon as it turned green he screamed Go!!!! He learnt all these from watching car racing cartoons and other informative cartoons on his Tab Anytime I don't want him to watch new videos on youtube because he is so engrossed with YouTube, I just turn off the wifi and he would be begging me Daaadyy on the wifi or on the daata Abeg enjoy the digital age with your kids and help them harness it positively and you maybe on your way to being the mother of next Mark Zuckerberg 6 Likes |

With some parents replacing sitting on the reading table with their young children to help them with their school's assignment with the use of ChatGPT to help with the answers quickly, the screen time can only get worse. It's just a matter of time. Note: Excessive screen time for young kids also depletes mental skills. Don't go and fight teachers when your child start having poor grades. 2 Likes |

Technology surely will help parenting if we apply it well. As for parenting for good morals: Now even those up to 30years, u see that good morals are missing and for some who culturally are supposed to be known to be more moral, only have greetings as their good morals, neglecting proper behavior and can abuse, talk down, behave agberoishly.... In the entire Africa, Nigeria is still a country that others respect when it comes to having respect for elders and general respect but these days, it seems we are fast becoming like the other Africans who don't pay emphasis to this( our education is EDUCATION with MORALS unlike that of many of our African brothers).... Maybe the 'Get rich quick syndrome' is really affecting us. 1 Like |

lavylilly: The ecology is not preserved in those area either. I'm in Blackpool though. But talking about screen time, I think it's a global phenomenon and it's even more pronounced in developed society compared to undeveloped environment. 2 Likes |
