Hello all,
Please can I travel out of UK to Nigeria without my passport but with my BRP because my passport just expired this month.

NO!
You must have your passport, even if it is expired. You must have the expired passport.
You may need to get an emergency travel document from the Nigeria High commision.
Repeat: You must have a passport, either a dead one or a live one.

Hello everyone,

We live in a 2 bed Apartment and we got a mail saying they wanted to inspect the apartment. When the rep from the agency came he took pictures of the walls saying that we repainted the walls and they were not evenly painted and that we werent supposed to touch the walls. I felt bad that we painted. I specifically didnt hang anything on the walls. He also mentioned that the carpet was not as it was when we moved in. (8mnts ago).

Now we got a mail from them saying we didnt keep the apartment clean enough and asking us to start looking for another place. We did call their office the next day and were told to move and that our deposits will be used for the repainting and a new carpet. There were no stains on them. I usually clean any stains out immediately. But she said we bleached the carpet which we didnt. I argued that surely it shouldnt be all the deposits but the lady said except we dont want their references for when we get another apartment. She also mentioned that its best we move now so they can give us a good reference. And that if we dont move they would give us a quit notice to leave in 2 months. I'm so sad as I just had a baby and moving can be stressful.

I want to know if there's anything we can do as tenants. Maybe any rights we have? We are on tier 4 and we don't want to rock the boat. I really dont know what we can do at this time. Can we argue this with them or we should just move? I know we are at fault about the painting but everything else was intact and they even mentioned that we are low maintenance and that our rents comes in even days before the due date. I just need clarifications pls.

Thank you.

Why would you redecorate a house you rented without written permission from the landlord?
Even if you go to small claims court you CANNOT win except your deposit wasnt protected then you get 3 times of it. Which i doubt since you rented it from an estate agent i believe as they might have done the needful

Although that painting without permission was a big no no . But many mortgages are coming to term and working out higher then expected

So landlords are either issuing Section 21 or giving flimsy excuse so they can re list the property so don't beat yourself too much about it . Don't worry about moving now, but If you can see a house and move within 2 months then try. One day at a time

Stand your ground when it time to go. If they say you bleached the carpet and you didn't then stick to your version. They can't charge your for bleaching carpet when you no bleach

MPs have urged the UK government to launch a public inquiry to assess the effects of Brexit in a parliamentary debate triggered by a petition.

A three-hour debate was held after 183,000 people signed a petition calling for a public inquiry into the impact of leaving the European Union.

The government says Brexit was a "democratic choice" and dismissed calls for a public inquiry.

But some MPs branded Brexit a "disaster" and an "error".

They seem to be gradually admitting that Brexit was a mistake and misadventure.
Oga! Them no think anything.
Britain cannot be great, make private decisions if they are still under the shadow of European Union.

You seems to have forgotten what prompted the fast tracking of that Brexit? The 'must' decisions taken by Europe to share Refugees & illegal crossers from Libya to Italy & Spain.

A couple of group of people may try to bring up that issue and how it is not beneficial, but the Israelites knows they will never go back to Egypt.

@joyfuljoyful as long as your deposit is held with a scheme that is a neutral body, pls quit keep going back to them to argue anything. When the tenancy ends go back and claim your deposit back, all of it.. the battle will begin there. You will be asked for proofs and they also. No matter what u are doing… dont admit to any faults as thats what will cause the adjudicator to keep your money.. or award it in favour of them. They cnt take ur money if it was put in a deposit scheme. My iwn billed me 800 for redecoration, carpet and cleaning or so. I fought back with my pictures and videos when it was time. The deposit scheme returned all my money and awarded them zero. Quit goin back and forth with landlord or agent. When u move out, log back into ur deposit acct and claim the money back. But before u leave u must take ur pictures and enough videos for ur proofs
As long as they didn’t take any pictures and videos when they wanted to hand the house over to you, adjudicator will not give them the money. They will need to prove anything if at all was caused by you. Dont beg anyone. Just avoid any back and forth with them if the money is with a deposit scheme

Out washing machine malfunctioned...it has packed up after burning smell while operating... plan to buy another one and replace though we don't have any issues with the agent or landlord... just asking...are we supposed to get their permission before replacing it or fixing it?

But the situation on the ground shows the Brexit is biting hard on their businesses and other sectors. The PM has been going about trying to cut travel deals with the same EU they left because they wanted to have 'full control' of their borders and immigration system. And mind you, Britain has always made the loudest noise about immigrants, asylum seekers. Successive governments seem to be capitalising on that emotional topic to make the public think immigrants and immigration are the root causes of all their problems. Meanwhile, they're cashing out big on economic and academic migrants to the country, and aren't taking as many asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants as Germany France and Spain. Yet, those countries don't go about complaining as much as the UK. Of course, rejoining EU is almost impossible at least for the foreseeable future as even the EU will be reluctant to have them back, but those truthful enough among them are admitting howbeit reluctantly that Brexit was a mistake. You don't pull out of the world's biggest market and expect not to feel the impact.

Oh that enquiry is happening sooner or later. If contrey gets even harder than this as it will, it may not even be needed as will be clear to all and sundry that we ve been royally freaked by Brexit and its proponents.

Lol. Don't mind them. They wanted Brexit so badly and now they have it.

Let's just say they ate their cake and wanted to have it.

Mind you; Binary said there must be advantage in every disadvantages, and that was why they made it an open-end agreement (meaning they left after the Referendum, and set to discuss the terms and other things later).

I believe their motive for the bolded is that they just need that free flow of their lorries through the border, that's their only major disadvantage in their decision.
It is well...

Why not wait till you have enough pay slips that shows the correct number of hours? But the fact that it is on your payslip means your NI would have that update and Home Office 🙄

You conveniently left out the part where JoyfulJoy admitted that they redecorated the house (possibly in contravention of their contract).

Just as someone suggested, the first thing JoyfulJoy would have to do is look at the contract. Read it, carefully.

Hello guys I need help please.
UK has fraustrate my life and I haven't been myself since this year because of my school fees.

Sorry to hear about your ordeals my fellow Nigerian.

With my short period here in Ukay, what I have discovered about the system is that you negotiate your way in everything you do.

But our Naija people get this phobia, like emi Omo onile, Omo olona, 😁🤣🤣. I will figure it out on my own way.

First, when school send notification about your payment, you should have inform school about this your ordeal and give them proof, negotiate your way out of it. They will surely listen when you write your bursar and give you more time.

Yesterday I got a bill from O2 that my bill is now £29.45 because of RPI instead of £25, I disturbed O2 until I was transferred to the manager and manager gave me a discount of £5 for the next 12-months.

Same way when I got into the UK and the Airbnb we lodged in no get the right pot for the induction stove that was previously there and me wan cook. I called the owner of the Airbnb and he went to buy new pots that's induction compatible so I can cook.

ALWAYS NEGOTIATE YOUR WAY BEFORE EVERYTHING TURN MESSY 😜 😜 ABI RONALDO
