May 29 Committee: Tinubu Inherited Igbo Hatred From Buhari – Ohanaeze by Antimandatethie(m): 1:52pm On Apr 26, 2023
Following the non-inclusion of Igbo in the committee set up by the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for the May 29 handover activities, apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohaneze Ndigbo, said on Tuesday that Tinubu inherited Igbo hatred from the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

The 14- member committee is expected to plan the presidential inauguration and it is made up of people from regions across the country.

However, going through the list, it was discovered that there was no Igbo person, a development that had generated reactions across political party lines in Igbo land.

Reacting on the development, the national vice president of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene, described the incoming president as a tribalist, adding that it was difficult for him to change his opinion about Igbo.

He said:

Igbophobia is in his veins and by not including Igbo people in the handover committee, he is only trying to reopen old wounds.

“He inherited the hatred Buhari has against Igbo, especially when the President-elect has said he will continue from where the incumbent president stopped.

“He said he will continue with Buhari policies and our question is, what is he continuing?

“Is it to continue the marginalisation of a particular ethnic group?

“Ohanaeze has not even accepted his election and whatever he is doing is personal to him.

What we know is that those who want to divide Nigeria will surely fail.

“Ohanaeze is not in a hurry to recognise Tinubu as the President-elect because any house built on a faulty foundation is bound to collapse.

“We believe that the process of the 2023 presidential election is still on.

“The voting has been done and the court has taken over and until the outcome of the court process is known, we cannot take a stand on the 2023 election.”

The Ohanaeze leader said it is unfortunate that Tinubu is toeing the path of disunity, adding that although some Igbo people may think they are on his side, there is a saying that an injury to one Igbo man is injury to all Igbo.

On the new leadership of Ohaneze, Okeke-Ogene said the Imeobi Ohaneze will meet on Sunday to take far-reaching decisions.

He added that the issue of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu emerging has not arisen because it is the Imeobi that will decide.

“For now, people can speculate on anything but Ohanaeze has a constitution and there are high expectations that things will work out well after the Imeobi meeting on Sunday,” he said.

More like Tinubu inherited the hatred Igbos have for Buhari.

In fact, the main reason for the hatred Igbos have for Tinubu is that he made Buhari President.

But it has now been doubled by the fact that Tinubu defeated an Igbo candidate, despite that Igbos swore to ensure a Yoruba would not become President again before them.

Alas, they must embrace the reality of their situation.

Igbo votes cannot make one President, and Igbo votes cannot prevent one from being President.

Hahahahahaha!

I laugh with you.

The arrogance of the tribe that has been wailing since 2015.

A tribe that swore that Jonathan must deal mercilessly with Yorubas, and that Yorubas should go meet Tinubu for their own reward despite that Jonathan won every SouthWest state except Osun State.

Then moved their hatred to the agenda that a Northerner must continue to rule rather than any Yoruba win the Presidency after Buhari.

That is the same tribe now wailing that a Yoruba President-elect is dealing with them.

Let them go and meet the mandate thief called Peter Obi III, he will consider his own tribe in his online republic.

Saying everyone hates you does not make any sense though.
Tinubu was the victim here, he did nothing to to igbos to deserve such hatred from them, I see no reason why Igbos should hate such a man and wanted us to vote for a man who couldn't live with the people he governed.

This is just tribalism cos except age, Tinubu is a far better leader than Obi could ever be

Joe igbokwe a clown personified, comes to mind. Many of us non igbos know that a Peter Obi is what will turn this country around but we're waiting for the judges. Any alliance with the thief and his gangs will be met with heavy resistance and sadly. they'll suffer more on the long run

So let's get this straight. These folks and there kins hate Mr Tinubu to the lowest low, they ridicule everything he does and express there extreme hate for him and whatever he stands for without giving him a chance to heard, and then they cry wolf about how he hates igbos?

The igbos are like the black Americans who shot themselves and still ask why their kinds are dieing everyday.

You can't do such to someone and expect them to give u a seat in whatever they are doing.

Igbo elders and their youths shud wake up, make peace and adjust themselves properly. That will only happen if they themselves cleanse themselves from the generation hatred they have against others. Nice one from Tinubu! I hope he do performs better than buhari!

Let's be sincere here. Did Igbo show him love? why do you guys make it look like there are no other tribes like Tiv, Ijaw, Isoko, Itsekiri, Edo,Efik, Ibibio, Kanuri, Ebira, Igala, Idoma,Gbagi and Nupe.

I am sick of hearing Igbo, Igbo, and Igbo all the time.

this entitlement mentality is getting one sick

Na wa oo. What's wrong with this people? Did igbo believe in his presidency before?
Besides, committee of just 12 people ooo, not really political appointees that involve national politics or quota system. That's how they create enemies for themselves from no where.
Let's see when the senate President is elected and waiting for cry again.
Whereever your heart is, let your treasure be. You reap 2hat you sow.
When LP appointed 90 percent for party agents and positions during the last elections, majority were from one region. They didn't come out to condemn it. This is party affairs too, Igbos are not members of APC. Simple.
