Ibime and izzou are right . I listened to a radio programme about 5 years ago and they brought one civil aviation expert . The man said most of the states that currently had airports at that time are not economically viable . Most of those states people don’t fly there .

Ekiti state having an airport makes no sense when it has close proximity with Ondo state that also has an airport . Ogun state having an airport makes no sense when it has close proximity to Lagos that has 2 and half airports. How many people dey fly go those states ?

The governors just award bogus contract to siphon money out of the system to build an airport that will be leaking and lacking maintenance in the nearest future due to paucity of funds

This will send the cost of flight to Ebonyi over the roof. Flight from say PH to Ebonyi will go to Lagos or Abuja before Ebonyi. A lot of people will not be able to afford it thereby rendering the airport even more useless.

Thing with this manufacturing thing is it depends on the type of business he does/did, and how feasible local manufacturing would have been. For some businesses it's easy, and for others it isn't so easy, and one can understand the problem but the condition to implement the solutions he wants to effect are just not possible.

There are several things that can be produced locally, but conditions to make local production possible are just not there...that could be the case with Peter Obi, and it's also possible that this consumption to production philosophy that's his mantra is one he's come to realize as a solution to our problems over time. You can't compare Peter Obi the 28-35 year old hustler to Peter Obi the 60 year old plus man, the way they'd see the world would be very different.

Normally the oil producing states should have been the feather in cap for Nigeria. If you look at the American states of Texas, Alaska, Louisiana, and California, their growth was fueled in part or largely by oil. The cities of Houston and Dallas were built on oil money, and so was the state of Alaska. A state rich in Oil is supposed to be booming, I mean look at common Dubai. The oil producing areas of Nigeria should have been the catalyst of the industrial revolution in Nigeria. They should have been home to numerous industries such as pharmaceutical (Aspirin uses petroleum), cosmetic oils and greases, Industrial oils and greases, plastics resins synthetic fibers, industrial and domestic detergents, chemical fertilizers, and a host of other industries that depend on crude oil for raw materials. So much possibilities wasted.

NEMA is responsible for the Evacuation primarily, because the Agency is the one handling Transportation and other Logistics, but its always Abike that must be dragged!
