When i was about to discharged, i noticed that one of my ears was not functional which i complained immediately to the docs there told me that my condition was critical and was consequently administered hard drugs which is clearly the cause of my partial deafness and was given an appointment in 2weeks time to follow up about the new ailment. I came back home using only one ear.

After about 5days at home, i enter okada to the use an atm in town, upon reaching the bank, i joined the atm line to made my withdrawal, it was there that an old friend started talking to me that i discovered that both my ears were not functional.

All I can say is this...

Research foods that ameliorate the condition and try and take that more often.

Personally, I take a bottle of malt like once a month and I take zero alcohol

I go several months before having serious issues with it.

Whenever I have a serious issue, I take a lot of ginger tea, raw onions and turmeric tea

Avoid more trips to Nigerian doctors, they are clearly experimenting with your life

Tinnitus has no cure.

If you can, check YouTube videos on tinnitus reliefs and try out some of the suggestions from the US doctors.

Seek foreign consultation, if you can afford it.

Maybe N200 at most. it's just a piece of foam. your local POP/construction/building materials sellers should have it.
Like someone already pointed out, the hyperacusis you're having is because your stapedial muscle is screwed up. So long as earplugs stop the lightliest of sound from getting to your tympanic (ear drum), the sound should stop all together.

So sorry about your situation, in a sane country the teaching hospital is supposed to be sued and someone practing right revoked.

I urge you to visit Ebuka Obi of Zion ministry Lagos by Ago, am sure 100% that God of Zion will use him to heal you, search him out of facebook and YouTube, look for the verified page and follow his programmes. You can join the group in your state and the can assist you reach out to him, because he is very difficult to see one on one.

I also suffer from Tinnitus but the difference is that mine is on only my right ear...when I am in a very quiet room my right ear keeps producing some sounds...that sometimes makes it hard for me to listen or hear an outside noise properly. This one ear deafness and strange sounds from d ear only happens when I am in a very quiet place or room. It’s been months i started experiencing it and it doesn’t seem like it will stop. I browsed the internet and I found no remedy to it..in fact the internet said it will later stop on it’s own.

The noise Na only u wey carry the ear dey hear and feel am...nobody can hear d annoying sound coming from that ear. It all started one evening in my room last year October till now the noise hasn’t stopped. I just pray it doesn’t become something too serious as that of OPs own. I hear very well with both ears outside but when in a very quiet room the sound starts on my right ear making hearing on that ear difficult. Hmmm

OMG! I can bet my left ball that you are a doctor practising outside the country. I said so because i have never heard of that bolded word before and i have been to more than 15 hospitals since this problem started. I started researching about that word and it addresses my problem 80%
I weak for all this nigerian doctors, they never mentioned that to me. It did not even take you time to correctly mentioned it without seen me. You are talented and may God bless you.

They did not mention a price but said it will be a process from tests to surgery which will cost around 1.5million as of 2017. I did not care to ask more about the processes cuz that was clearly beyond me

The tinnitus and hearing loss is due to side effect of some antibiotics used, some class of antibiotics when used for Rx or when overdosed can have auditory effects. I have tinnitus as well but mine was due to RTA but its wen I am in a silent place I hear disgusting sound . Go for audiometry and seek miracle bro. Listen to pastor Kumuyi's . You will be healed.

The first one placed my on one drug called betahistine(i forget the correct spelling) for months.

The other one in abj advice i should always engage in exercise and prescribe some simple drugs

The third one told me to continue with the first drug and hope for the best.

The other one wash my ears with an unknown solution, and gave drugs too.

The last i visited suggested an operation, that i will need some test outside the country and a possible inplant in my ears which will cost millions. Lol me wey never see 200k cash for my life, that was when i gave up

The suggestion from the last ENT consultant is the true solution to your problem, same thing happened to my friend in 2005 when he newly gain admission to study medicine in University of Jos, he almost drop out of school when he lost his hearing ability as a result of typhoid, he managed to graduate as a medical student, Even though he wasn't hearing at all. He saved some money from housemanship, traveled to US and was operated upon, they insated what they called implant inside his head and with the use of an hearing aid he can now hear very well and leaving his normal live.
You shouldn't be talking about destroying your auditory nerves, you should be talking about correcting the problem. If you destroy your auditory nerves today and there is a way for you to get help tomorrow, you won't stand a chance of hearing.
Note: my friend operation was done Free of charge by an NGO that usually visit Nigeria in search of people with such problem. My friend only paid for flight ticket. All other expenses was done by the NGO including visa fee.
Don't destroy your auditory nerves because you don't know when help might come.

Tinnitus has no cure, i suffer Tinnitus in one ear, Tinnitus has no cure, you just has to manage it, you can go for a surgery on your ears or were hearing aid. Tinnitus can be caused by after suffering a heavy flu, cold or fever. Tinnitus can also and mainlly be caused by long term exposure to a noisy environment, like loud music venue, loud vehicle, horn, factory equipments, noisy streets and mine was caused as a result of my being a drummer in a band.

You can manage your Tinnitus by wearing rythme sound on your ear, chose the rythme you like play it repeatedlly in your ear at some point your ears will get used to these rythme and it will reduce your anxiety levels. Tinnitus can also cause you anxiety and paranoia which you appear to suffer from at the moment. You wiil be fine once you can manage your anxiety.


When i first noticed i have Tinnitus i nearlly cut my ear off! thank goodness for my ex wife who is a doctor.
